| So, out of curiosity, I was wondering what do you all look for in a friend? What would you call a good friend? What are some qualities to have? They don't have to be serious, or only funny, but they just have to be true. You can do it by telling us what a friend is to you. A friend is... ...someone you can troll without hesitation and they just laugh and troll right back. ...someone you can share perspective with and discuss it without the conversation blowing up over it. ...someone you can share your burdens with and share in their burdens. ...someone who keeps you up late and you couldn't care less. ...someone who can take and distribute teasing very well. (Especially over your typos. ) | |

| ...someone who understands why you do what you do. ...someone who has this special "bluetooth" installed in his/her system and knows what you mean without you ever having to say something. ...someone you can be totally comfortable with, even if you're just hanging out together without saying anything. | |

| Great idea, Mike (that is your name, isn't it???) ...someone who oddness because they are cut from the same mold. ...someone who isn't offended even if you stay at their house past midnight (without meaning to sleep over). ...someone with whom you can disagree on certain things but not have an argument and never speak to each other again. ...someone you can while away the hours talking with and then wonder where the afternoon went. | |

And I have a new one: ...someone you can while away the hours talking with and then wonder where the afternoon went. ...someone who brings an unforced smile to your face. | |

| ...someone who doesn't believe they have to always be right, and someone who makes you feel like you don't always have to be right. You can mutually respect each other despite differences in opinions. ...someone who laughs with you, cries with you, and helps bear your burdens, when they can. ...someone who is unafraid to tell you when "that" was uncalled for, but does so in a way that says "I love you, I won't let you act like that". Not many people can really do that.... ...someone who loves talking with/listening to you. ...someone who will defend you to others, even if you don't need defending. | |

| I agree with most all of these. *isn't sure how to word what he looks for in a friend* ...that will talk with you voluntarily in a pleasant fashion. ...that cares about you and (preferably anyway) will allow you to (try to) care for them. | |

| ...someone who sees beyond themselves. ...someone that tells you to your face what others say when you aren't around. ...someone who knows everything about you and still likes you anyway. ...someone that makes silence comfortable. ...someone who says "I'll pray" and actually takes the time to do so. ...someone who is a true hero “To be a true hero you must be a true Christian. To sum up then, heroism is largely based on two qualities- truthfulness and unselfishness, a readiness to put one's own pleasures aside for that of others, to be courteous to all, kind to those younger than yourself, helpful to your parents, even if helpfulness demands some slight sacrifice of your own pleasure. . .you must remember that these two qualities are the signs of Christian heroism.” ~ G.A. Henty. ...someone whose memory never dies within our thoughts. | |

| -Someone who isn't afraid to give it to me straight when I need to do what is right or can be better about myself. -Someone who keeps on listening through all of the tiring problems but remembers to be your buddy through the good times as well. -Someone who initiates conversation when you did not and seeks your company as often as you seek theirs. -Someone who makes following God and doing what is right more important that your or their comfort or desires. -Someone who challenges you spiritually. A friend loveth at all times. | |

| Someone who can keep your confidence no matter what. I love that I have a couple of friends who I can talk to about anything, and I know it won't make them treat me differently, and they won't tell a soul. Friends like that are hard to find, but they are gold. Even if it is just family troubles, and you need to be able to talk to someone about the stress and problems, and know they will put up with you sobbing down the phone and still love you afterwards. *Smiles* | |
