A sister thread to Ardyth's. Everyone has half finished novels, or scraps of ideas for novels, but they aren't finished and might never be, right? Collect them altogether here!

Here are mine. (Not counting Lightning Ranger, Prince of Yen, City of Lies, and the Third Earth, which are all still in progress but are technically finished...)

Princess of the Stars
or City of Light or Untitled
Progress:First few chapters
When Queen Mercy died King Honor must choose a new wife, but his twelve sons might object.

A Martian Fantasy

Progress: synopsis, character development.A princess on mars is caught in a vortex that lands her in the middle of a fantasy world where she must help a human prince defeat his enemies.

The Elleysian Chronicles
Progress: first half of the first book, short story. The history of Elleys, which is the world from Prince of Yen. There are three books and a couple of short stories planned.

The Girl Phantom
Progress: prologueAfter her family's murder Serenia swears revenge and dons a mask to do it.

The Time Travelers
Progress:finished, started over, long abandoned.
Five ordinary teenagers travel all over history and even into the future to recover a magic ring.

Keepers of Dylann Book Two:The Return of the Fire-Born
Progress:first couple of chapters
After Rolf's sacrifice and his wife's disappearance Jaidon starts experiencing strange visions.

And.... that's all, I think. That's ignoring all the books ideas I discarded without ever working on, or that lay dormant. I've only listed works that are actually in progress; draft stage.

I actually only have three that I think I might finish one day:

Shapeshifter (placeholder title)
When six teens find out that they are really shapeshifters from another world, their lives are changed forever, and they must make choices they never dreamed they would have to make.

Untitled
An abused slave teams up with an unlikely cast of characters in an effort to save her homeland and redeem her twin sister.

The Thieves' Guild
Uh... this one doesn't have much of a plot yet, but it's about a girl, Eirtae, who was abandoned as a child and discovered by a band of thieves, who raised her. (I've hardly even thought about this one; it was just a random title I came up with last year, and I came up with an interesting character for it! :P )

A Forgotten Past (needs a new title... haven't thought of one...)
May or may not be abandoned, and I'm not sure what it's about because it was such a mess before =P It needs a LOT of re-writing.

Forbidden
Some sort of elf story... I don't remember what I was even writing about, and probably won't get back to this one.

Untitled Story 1
It appears to be some sort of failed pirate story....

Assassin's Dream
The daughter of an assassin gets caught up in the mess between the organization her father worked for and their enemy.
Failed and will probably be abandoned...

Of Revenge and Pirates
Never finished but failed short story about some guy trying to kill an evil king

Sellion (name of character used because I have no title yet)
Was supposed to be the book after the first one on this list, about the MC of the first book's brother after he left the Elves. May or may not every be written.

The Journey
A story I begin when I was several years younger, never finished, and extremely cheesy. The re-write was horrible. The newest version was an attempt to go back to the original plot-line, no matter how horrible, simply so I could get it down to edit. I still hope to finish this one day.

Untitled Story 2
Just found this one while looking through my files... something about a dragon and her human friend. I don't remember what was supposed to happen there either.

Untitled Story 3
This is the one I'm currently working on. I don't want to give away the storyline, so no summary here.

Untitled Story 4
About a girl who for some reason was found in an alley and brought to the nearby orphanage. Turns out the orphanage is full of shapeshifting children, who were brought to earth by a portal from their world to protect them. I think later they went back and had to do something in their world, but I never got that far in planning. In writing the MC doesn't even know anything about the children yet.

Untitled Sci-fi Story
Three teens are put into some sort of competition by their crazy "uncle", and I don't know what happens after that =P

Most of these may not ever get past where they are now, and most barely have anything written. I'm bad about starting a story and not finishing it, no? =P

**has more stories than she needs at once**

Chasms

Genre: steampunk/retro futurism
Progress: one screenplay first draft, tons of notes spread all over the house, many sample scenes; plenty of anguish over killing off Lukas...
Logline:
When his older brother sacrifices his life to save his [the MC's] twin sister, Evander must keep the warehouse from collapsing without Lukas' leadership in a changing world.
Summary:
Um... steampunk. Gadgets. Tragedy. Grittiness. A completely awesome world. Lots of jerking on heartstrings because of all the poor kids at the warehouse who might die... **sniff**

The Colorless Lands (world)
Genre: high fantasy
Progress: Multiple partial drafts in both novel and screenplay form; plans for at least one full novel/film/manga, and a one-shot.
Premise: In a colorblind world, certain individuals discover the mystery of Color. Their lives can never be the same.

Awaken
Genre: space sci-fi
Progress: half of a screenplay (about 45 pages); part of a character fractal, some snowflakes
Logline: Freed from a mind-controlling schedule by a freak accident, two young adults are thrown into independence -- but when their space colony is attacked by rebels, they team up with a visiting journalist to contact Earth for help.

Premise: It's a space colony under the ice on the Jovian moon Callisto. No one has ever been taught how to make their own decisions; computers make most of the decisions for them. For the few things that you need a human to decide, there are the Elite, but they are cloistered away from the average Calliston colonist.

Fire & Flask
Genre: high fantasy
Progress: a character fractal, some worldbuilding, lots of snowflakes, and about 4K words of a first draft.
Logline:
Shipwrecked, Chevalier hunts a lucrative bounty - a legendary healing waterflask - but treachery forces him to question his very existence in the islands of Faery.

Wings
Genre: steampunk fantasy
Progress: Just came up with this one a couple days ago! Half a page of premise information.
Logline:
Fallen from his world in the clouds in a crippling flying accident, Icarus searches for a way to get back home as his wings start to disappear altogether.

Estel (short)
Genre: steampunk/steampunk fantasy
Progress: first screenplay draft
Logline: As his sister lays dying, Tenniel fights to bring her curing water from the spring of Estel.
(note: yes, I am aware of the roots of the word estel. It's a placeholder.)

Fine (short)
Genre: urban sci-fi? modern sci-fi?
Progress: screenplay draft number...uh... five, I think.

The Lost Ranks
Note: Philli's and mine
Genre: fantasy
Progress: ummmm, I don't know where exactly we are anymore. Lots and lots of drafts -- even revisions. Lots of notes, everywhere. Lots and lots and lots... we're talking multiple notebooks here. (RP, you and I should've taken pictures when we had it all sorted!)
There is no logline. haha.
Summary:
A story of friendship amid great hardship, of the highborn Lady Leah Loraine Longsway III and the outcast Melody Anne Kondrael. It involves missing relatives, slavery, racial disputes, and very adorable small children. ;)

Whew. I THINK that's everything but I may be forgetting something... or multiple somethings.... **hides**

Mr. Waternoose: There mustn't be any witnesses!
Randall: There won't be.

In all seriousness, that was a good summary. :D Now y'all know why I'm Leah and she's Melody (and her sister's Amanda).

Truthfully, next year I would love to get a complete draft out for book 1 of this would-be trilogy. We should talk about that sometime, Mel...

As for my personal works, not including the co-op... I refuse to list them all just because I can. I will instead only list the fantasy-genre ones that are semi-active.

Peter's Angel (aka "Alaidia")
Progress: My rambling "masterpiece." One a standalone, then a trilogy, going back to a standalone again. Getting ready to do an honest complete draft.
Logline: A headstrong vassal breaks the fief covenant in an attempt to restore the rightful heir of his motherland.

Faded (NaNo 2010)
Progress: Summarizing unwritten plot so I can submit the shell for a critique. I will make a judgment on revising after receiving feedback.
Logline: Recently diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma, a frustrated freshman steps off the hospital elevator into a world where everything fades as it ages - except him.

The First Frog
Progress: Short story. Revising first draft and (possibly) changing it into a picture book.
Logline: A princess searches through a sea of amphibians for her prince charming - but how will she know which one to kiss?

My Pet Dragon
Progress: Feature screenplay. Planning stages.
Logline: An Eragon-wannabe finds a dragon egg and the key to world peace - in modern-day America.

I'm sure there's other things... but as far as fantasy goes, those are the main ones.

Oh, dear....I can't list all of them. :P But here are the ones I haven't completely relegated to the "on hold" folder. :D

Impossible
Progress--fourty seven pages.
Brendan and Sarah Clade live in the last free city-state. The city is betrayed, and most of the people killed. The twins are sold into slavery. Brendan to the man he hates most in the world, and Sarah into the harem of the vampyre king.

Elemental
Progress--122 pages
A girl with newly found special powers, is devastated when her father forces her into an unhappy marriage. She falls in love with her husband's younger nephew. Mayhem ensues. :P

Dark Sun
Progress--58 pages
slightly based off the story of Robin Hood. A young princess is terrified when her abusive older brother takes the throne. Persecution galore. :D

The Cleansing
Progress--One chapter
This is one of those things that you have all worked out in your head and don't want to write. :P A young couple from the 'owlie class discover a horrid plot to wipe out the entire population of impovershed and disabled people. One of them chooses to join the cleansing, and one of them chooses to fight it. Lots of drama.

Nothing is Perfect
Progress--77 pages
Ouryn and Crinne have just married when they are horridly ripped apart. Both are kidnapped by the government and taken away to different places. Ouryn is put into a training program for magic users. Crinne escapes and (speak of the Devil) meets the Devil and gets sucked in by his lies. Lots and lots and lots of battle and crying and mayhem. :P

Matt's Story
Progress--2 pages. :D
This is my most recent brain child! It's a tragedy. A young boy and his sister grew up with a horridly abusive father. One night things go bad and the boy ends up killing his father. Despite the fact that he was only defending himself and his sister, the law comes after them.

Azriel- And who do you think you are, running round leaving scars, collecting your jar of hearts, and tearing love apart? You're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul, so don't come back to me. Don't come back at all...

@Willow: I'm sorry, I giggled at the end of (almost) all of your summaries (Mayhem ensues...Persecution galore...Lots of drama...Lots and lots and lots of battle and crying and mayhem...)

*cough* on to mine?

Wolf Pack
Progress: Um... a few words?
Semi-fantasy...a small collection of short books for children about a family of wolves. Centered around one MC, Why. The only interesting part about this story was that the entire family was named after elements on the periodic table

The Fox and the Hound (nowhere near the disney version!)
Progress: idea stage
I actually still kind of like this one. Supposed to be written in two parts: "Runs with the Foxes" and "Hunts with the Hounds." The story of two girls. One is a thief and the other is a police-type-person. Set in the medieval-ish ages (<-- will probably change). Idea came from a song... O.o

Kathronine
Progress: idea/outline stage
I've had this idea for forever... Probably won't be finished though :P It's about a girl who falls from a bridge and wakes up in a different world. She has to help the people there find their lost king or something... In the end she wakes up in the hospital and it was all a dream.... or was it? O.o

Estildayid
Progress: pre-idea stage
Another old idea. The son of the king sneaks into his father's room one night to play with his father's sword. His father's always told him to never touch it. Anywho... he (obviously) touches it and finds himself in a different world where people remind him of his family. (I'm reading though stuff and this is actually more developed than I thought... it's in the idea stage)
I'll get back to you

The Duet
Progress: Writing bits and pieces...
Another two-book series. This one includes: "Spirit of the Song" and "Daughter of the Song" I've actually posted some of it here... So, I'm not going to say much about it

Despair's Hope
Progress: idea stage
A world is being overtaken by the man called Fear. When Courage comes to this world, its almost gone. But Courage doesn't give up and seeks to restore the land. Very "Pilgrim's Progress" like. People's name are who they are... and yeah... not much done with this one...

<insert two sci-fi books here>

The Lands of Ashta
Progress: developing... still developing
My baby/masterpiece! :D The story I've been working on the longest and hardest. A large series of books about my created fantasy world that you've been hearing about on here. There are quite a few here so I can't really explain any of them

Birthright
progress: three chapter drafts. A world under construction.
Tanner Grayson is thrust into another world where he learns (primarily) the gifts and responsibilities of his family.

yet unnamed ( sequel)
progress: one chapter and some character development.
Not sure the plot line exactly but there are demons involved.

Legacy (third in series)
progress: well, I found a name for it.
I have very little in the line of plot here.

After writing the first chapter of Birthright I somehow knew it would be a trilogy.

LOL! I do tend to synopsize in a rather sales-pitchy way. :D (Oh, dear. I think that last sentence has TWO made up words instead of my usual one. :P)

And I love your progress updates.;)

If I listed my short stories finished, unfinished, and abandoned you'd be reading till next year... (Let's just not go there.)

Actually, when I'm bored I'll sit down and read through my old notebooks and find all sorts of ideas I just plain forgot about. It's fun.

@Vilisse: Periodic tables? Cool. My sister and I named all of our characters after books of the Bible. This is why, whenever I work over characters for Lightning Ranger I have to agonize over coming up with fantasy names for Amos, Deuteronomy, and Leviticus, among others. Of course, that's not mentioning the ones named after objects: Queen Black, Prince Banana, Prince Pear, King Caulker (heard of a caulk gun? Neither had we, until we started remodeling our house and the name stuck...)

Progress: Opening chapters
Genre: Sci-fi
A young alien boy is bored with his life and is feeling depressed...All of a sudden, one day he finds himself thrust into a life of adventure with astronauts from earth who embark on a mission to save his home planet.

Torn in Two
Progress: First Draft done
Genre: Fantasy
A young man by the name of Elanhil gets torn out of his home country...after playing a key role in making it independent. His sister is sold into slavery and he devotes his life to rescuing her. One day, after he is defeated once more at the border, he gives up and moves far away, and comes under the attack of Merashath, the main evil.

That's all I've figured out. Probably have more, but I don't really pay attention to them.

Yeah...you really don't want to see my list of ideas and incomplete stories. More importantly, I don't want to go through and try to summarize all of them. I believe I once counted up my ideas and things I'd started and got around fifty. :P

So, here's some of them.

Against All Odds
Progress: At the moment, very little. It's possibly the story I've started over the most.
Summary: Yearly raids are devastating Alaric's homeland. With the adults forbidden to retaliate for fear of provoking the raiders into outright attacks on the towns, Alaric decides enough is enough and begins a guerrilla campaign to keep the raiders off the island.

Untitled 1
Progress: As above, very little at the moment because I started over AGAIN. This might tie or even beat the above story for number of times restarted; it's also the first story I ever started writing.
Summary: Kidnapped by foreigners, twins Leander and Leandra and their friends manage to escape, but now they're surrounded by strangers, not knowing who to trust...or how to get home.

Untitled 2
Progress: A couple of chapters...but I want to restart it, I think. :P
Summary: A former mercenary with a promise to keep, a young man who's lost nearly everything, and a widow and her son seek to protect their home from a dangerous and power-hungry enemy, with the help of a Seer from another world.

Invincible
Progress: A former short story that got out of hand. I'm starting to rewrite it, but I haven't gotten far.
Summary: Tarrun and his brother Langford take on a fortress of trolls...and uncover long-forgotten secrets in the process.

Untitled 3
Progress: Various bits and pieces that skip over some sections of time.
Summary: This one's actually sci-fi. An employee of his family's company is trying to kill Rainer. Finding out why pulls him into a terrorist plot--and may force him to work with his estranged brother.

Eh. That's enough for now. If I feel like it, I may come back and add some more in.

*cracks knuckles* You asked for it...click on the book smiley after each title to read what I've posted on HW for that story. If you want to read any of the others, well--PM or email me. =)

Image
The Two Fathers :book:
Progress: 45,000 words, about two-thirds of the plot written, but stuck in the trap of constantly revisionifying. It's terrifying how inconsistent the novel is in it's current state--but I keep coming up with new ideas that require--guess what? 2,000 words of revision or so.
Genre: Fantasy
Summary: Two young people, Zaciré and Numaryá, end up on a quest together to save the world they both love. When all that they love is destroyed, and their best friend betrays them, they draw together. That is, until Zaciré finds out who Numaryá's father was, and what her father did to his. Can the void ever be closed again?

Shan and Aione (Working Name)
Progress: Three hundred and thirty words or so. Still very much in the ideas stage. . .originally a short story to satisfy Willy's pestering =P , but I'm toying with the idea of expanding it into a prequel. Of course, then I'd need a plot...*wanders off muttering*
Genre: Fantasy
Summary: This book tells the story of Shan and Aione, Numaryá's parents, and their pasts. It also tells the story of Zaciré's father, Rehuan, and how he came to be helt instead of Samsvar. Basically the prequel to The Two Fathers, taking place in the same setting.

The Tale of Eruheran and Dorodhield :book:
Progress: 2,000 words or so. I'm kind of trying to finish one novel at a time so this one's on hold.
Genre: Fantasy
Summary: Dorodhiel still has a precarious hold on her ancient kingdom, but trouble rumbles. When the Prophecy is fulfilled and her life is at stake, the royal aide Eruheran takes her to safety. But whose side is Eruheran really on? Can he be trusted?

You Will be my Witnesses :book:
Progress: Synopsis/development stage. I really have put this one on long term hold, sort of. Maybe next summer after school is out, or next year's NaNo. I don't know.
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Summary: Three kids, living in three vastly different situations, unite to solve their problems. (Eh--this one doesn't have a unifying plot but that's the general gist of it. More of a serious novel, too)

Parallels
Progress: about 1,000 words, if that. Mostly planning and stuff. This one *is* on permanent hold, at least until I finish the above three, if not forever.
Genre: Realistic fiction
Summary: Six (I think it was six) kids in the small town of Peola GA gradually become friends and work together on a science project worth 80% of their grade. But when strange things start happening to their work, they need to discover who their true friends are, and who can be trusted. (This book is sort of a rip-off of a book I read years ago about a 'club' that does all these horrible things to help the other people in the club and they end up...I don't remember.)

A Forlorn Hope
Progress: seven thousand words at the outside? More likely closer to four or five thousand words...sort of permanently abandoned, but I always promised I'd resurrect this story and make it *good* Sort of the first full-length novel I tried to write. And the only draft of any novel I ever wrote completely on paper, instead of computer. :)
Genre: Historical Fiction
Summary: Hans and his family are struggling to stay together. Half-Jews in Nazi Germany, they flee to the mountains of Austria, but soon that is controlled by Nazis as well. Where can they go? Who can they trust? (OK--it still needs a nice plot to pull it together) This was the intended first book in a trilogy. The next book would tell of the next generation of the family, who by now had fled to somewhere in Eastern Europe, out of Germany. The third and final book would be in present day, telling of the third generation in Palestine. But this is the only one of the three with any substance to it.

-----

There ya go--satisfied? :D It felt *good* to write all those down. Now I want to work on them all again! =P

It does feel good. That's why I started this thread; I wanted to list the books that aren't finished too. :D

Hah! Fun.

I really really want to read about the wolves named after the periodic table now... I love the periodic table.

I am restricting myself to stories already substantially started here though, because if I listed unwritten ideas, ack! I'd be probably a hundred ideas long. All these have at least a chapter or two, sometimes almost half the book done.

Alpha and Omega -- (children's fantasy) A homeless illegal immigrant in El Paso, Texas, 11 year old Omega tries to take care of her alcoholic mother, her one support her dead twin brother Alpha, who talks with her.

Among the Saer -- (YA fantasy) When Sarah witness a stranger murder and rescues apprentice Thennison Padisi, she is drawn into the politics of the Saer Guardians, a race who guards the portals between worlds.

Autobiography of a Loser -- (contemporary children's) Creta has to write her autobiography for school, but her life is nothing but one tale if epic-lameness, what can she do so that if she died today, she'd have done at least one thing worth having lived for?

Cats and Dragons -- (children's fantasy) When Toby sees a cat fighting a dragon down at the end of the block he's drawn into the battle between good and evil. Jasper the cat wants his help saving the soul of the cranky neighbor lady who he can't stand, and the dragons are determined to stop them at all costs.

The Claypit Banti -- (Children's fantasy) Kestrameri, one of many troll slaves working in the claypit is actually of the priest caste, not the common caste, and if the humans discover his secret, they will kill him.

Icon -- (allegorical fantasy/SF) Three children driven out by the plague decide to throw themselves on the mercy of God and make a pilgrimage to Mishelo.

Night of the Cockroach -- (adult SF) In a post-apocalyptic world, scorpions have attained both sentience and civilization and rule the earth, but earths other remaining animal, their slaves and food source, the cockroach, also discovers consciousness and a yearning for freedom.

Revenge of the Voiceless -- (adult fantasy) Kevak returns after ten years as a prisoner of war to find his wife dead, a ten year old mute boy who might be his son, and a web of dangerous politics and lies that pulls him into contact and conflict with the birth family who abandoned him as a child.

Seer's Ransom -- (YA fantasy) Boys become warriors, girls seers, this is the way it's always been for the People of the Gods and they insist it will always be so, but Hera is the fiercest of warriors and her younger brother Aries the most powerful of seers, and so they leave their people to find a place where they will be allowed to be who they are.

Takiri -- (adult fantasy) Maka, an outlaw in hiding, and Rana, captive of the evil Stone King, are both effected by the return of the notorious Dragon Wraith. Can they trust him to free their people?

Ye Watchers -- (YA fantasy) In an alternative version of France during the Dark Ages, an angel and a demon fight over the soul of a young girl with supernatural power.

Mirror, Mirror On The Wall- When Robyn Murdock finds a very queer 3-D mirror, she's puzzled. What can it mean? Then she finds a secret compartment... and a tiny panel of buttons. What would happen if she pushed the big red one? Suddenly Robyn finds herself in a magical world. She is amazed by the kingdoms and islands. However, one of the greatest kingdoms is preparing to bomb another kingdom. Then she realizes who she really is in this world... a king's daughter. Her father doesn't want the other king to bomb their land. He is a peace loving man who will do anything to prevent this bombing... but what will he say when the other man demands his only sixteen year old daughter? Robyn's father is unsure of this deal. Robyn assures him that it will be okay and he finally agrees to allow Robyn to go with the other king. Two months later, he sends a knight to return his daughter to him. The knight does not return. Robyn is afraid when she finds out that the knight is captured and thrown in the basement jail on the king's whim. Three more knights, all sent to jail and bound with chains. But when a very special knight comes, disguised as the king's long-lost son, Robyn knows there's something special about him. They fall in love. Three months later, the knight has came up with a dangerous plan to save the sixteen year old girl. He talks to the king about it, admitting that he is not who he says he is. The king is a fair man, the knight says. Will he give the knight a chance? The king finally agrees that he is a fair man. He will set up a very tricky quest for the knight. The only catch is the quest can be set up any way the king wants it and that Robyn must accompany the knight. Will they brave deserts, oceans, bears, and raging war? Robyn is very homesick- for her normal home life on Earth. When they win the quest, they find another peculiar 3-D mirror. Is it the key to Earth? They are magically ported back to Earth and marry.

Ride Until There's No More Road- A fun loving sixteen year old boy is curious to learn how to drive his father's 883 Harley. His father finally agrees, and Logan finds it very exciting. He graduates to a Harley 1000 when he turns seventeen and gets his motercycle license. He asks a young lady, Leslie, to go on a daylong ride. Leslie Jonsen is sixteen years old and happily agrees. They ride around for the day, and they find that they really love motercycle riding. As soon as Leslie turns seventeen and Logan turns eighteen, Logan decides he has a very important decision to make. He ponders it, and then asks Leslie's father what he thinks. Leslie's father gives his permission quickly, and then Logan goes to his friend Leslie and asks her if she would like to court him. She says yes, of course. They enjoy several motercycle rides. On Leslie's nineteenth birthday, Logan takes her to a restaurant alone for her birthday dinner. He asks her something that could change her life. It was a query for her hand. She says yes, and then they are married. For their honeymoon, they drive across the states on Logan's now old Harley 1000. (This one I'll be starting on Jan 1.)

Some of your stories sound very interesting, Ardyth!

Your titles intrigue me, Elly, but I'm afraid to click on the spoiler text.

I would love to read "Ride Until there is no more road" -- that sounds like a really interesting book.

Wow, I didn't know there were that many works in progress on HWs. :D

Sylvir (working title)

In a land of felines, a snow leopard princess struggles to find herself whilst saving her land from an evil Tyrant. While searching for a legend, she makes numerous discoveries about herself and her companions, Arctax and Niama. And in reconquering her land, Azura finally learns that she is nothing without the Creator's grace.

Untitled

Sylvia, a headstrong homeschooled teen, continually clashes with Ryan, an average guy who keeps messing up, and feels as if he belongs nowhere. Unbeknownst to each other, Sylvia discovers a dragon hatchling, raising it as a household pet, and Ryan finds a young water dragon, which he keeps a secret.
In the Inner World, three young people, Sabre the human, Zanya the Felanai, and Akira the River Canai, find themselves seperated when Akira allows herself to be consumed by the Living Darkness. Driven into the Outter World, Akira is helpless and lost. Zanya and Sabre set out to find her, meeting Ryan and Sylvia. Together, they join forces to save their friend, on a quest which leads them all over creation.

Untitled

Rahor, song of Ilaria's King, leads an adventurous life with his sister, Niarah. Suddenly, everything changes when he discovers a beautiful young Sharthi maiden, and instantly falls in love with the cold creature. Niarah and their cousin, Traxus, stand by Rahor as he sets out to find the Sharthi once more. They discover the Ice Lord, sworn to serve the Dark One eternally, who tries to destroy the young adventurers. The trio gets involved in a battle which involves their entire family against the forces of Kurazan.

Eclipsa (working title)

In a scifi world, a young brainwiped enforcer wakes up with a voice telling her that "I will never leave you nor forsake you". She eventually forgets about it during her service as a galaxy warrior, but finds that everything she knows to be true is wrong. Believing the answers to be in her past life, she sets out to find who she was. She learns that she is unhuman, that she has a family, and that she is Christian. Her latter discovery turns the Enforcers against her, and now she and her friends have to fight for their lives.

Untitled (again)

Niarah Amythar and Traxus set out to retrieve Niarah's niece, who is kidnapped for the Leonai king, who believe that the kitten will bring power to his land. The assassin who was hired to kidnap the little princess leads Niarah and Traxus on a long, arduous trek across deserts and through jungles, and ends up leading them away from the kitten's location. Finally, he is captured and is forced to lead them to the Leonai's kingdom. An enslaved race is set free, Niarah and her cousin rescue her niece, and the assassin comes to terms with his identity.

I can think of more, but right now I think I'm done with typing. Most of these have a subtle message that I'm trying to get across to the reader, but I haven't included those. I think my story outlines are sounding cliche. :P

Aw, you didn't have to do that, Elly. :D What genre is "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall"? Since it has "bombs," I was wondering if it was steampunkish.

Me too (obviously ;)) :D. I was primarily inspired by Redwall, so there's a big influence of that in my stories.

I only have two, but they are nagging to be finished. Two that are started, anyway. I have a whole headfull of plotlines and ideas that are awaiting a time to escape. :D

Cara of Croydon Working title.
Cara Irving believes it is her destiny to become a knight. She has had visions of being knighted for God's kingdom. However, due to the fact that knighthood is an occupation reserved only for men, Cara's dream doesn't look possible to achieve. However, determined to fulfill her destiny, Cara defies the laws by disguising herself as a boy to get into the battleschool. Amid trials and hardships, she will eventually come to know that not all battles are fought with a sword.

Princess Meets Boy/Celebrity Meets Girl
The title of this book sounds a little... girly. But the book won't be. There will be many opinion clashes in this book that cause a lot of strife. It is in short, a man's journey: A man who has everything he could ever want except peace with God. And it's also how a young woman, God's Princess, does not cave in to strong influences. Here's my nano summary:
He's made it big. He's one of the most popular faces on TV and magazines. He owns everything he ever wanted. He has had his heart broken many times, but is now alone: and also desperately unhappy. She works hard for her keep. She reads her Bible daily. She is alone, but she is blissfully happy. When a set of mysterious coincidences see these two people meet, the effect that God has on each of their lives will change them forever.

So those are my two big projects calling for attention. :) And I've also got a story floating around I need to pin down and write for the Christmas comp! :D

Fantasy Wise:

Truth Light Chronicles
A collection of short stories.
The Truth Light chronicles are all heavily allegorical. There are Light lands - inhabited only by those who follow the Majestic One, there are Dark lands, inhabited only by those who have submitted their mind to the Dark Prince, and Shadowed lands, inhabited by both people of Light and people of Dark. In between Dark and Light people are the Struggling - people who are tempted by Dark, do not want to succumb, but do not acknowledge the Light. The Dark Prince turns them to stone each night, but the Majestic One returns them to their form during the day to give them a change to find the Path of Light.
Diadine is the only person who follows the Majestic one in her Shadowed region, and is very lonely until she helps Mirage, a Struggler, to the Path of Light. This is the premise of the series. Together, the woman and the warrior embark on a Majestic One-sent mission to show more people in their region the Path of Light.

Untitled Not Really Abandoned Story
A novel.
I started Untitled Not Really Abandoned Story as an exercise in character traits. I created four sisters, all opposites from one another, and let them bounce all over the place. I soon learned they were princesses, hidden away in a castle in the mountains, sheltered from the civil war of their kingdom. In an effort to protect their children from the realities of war, the kind and queen all but denied the war's existence.
A traitor, a message, a battle, and in one night that is changed. The castle's location is compromised and stormed by enemy troupes. The girls alone escape with. With no knowledge of their kingdom or of the war, they set out towards a friendly border.

My list of science fiction WIPs would be much to long. :)

Regular ones. Sorry that I'm not very good at describing them. The soldiers are attacking.

Yeah, and I'll be busy the rest of my life, I hope. ;) There's nothing quite like writing 25,000 words in a week in one book.

Okay, I have been sufficiently prodded ladies. :D

This does not include all my Musings, Mullings, and Mutterings. These are only my serious books at the moment (not including Samuel's book).

The Mark of the Diegose (not positive this will be the name)

Word total: 98,568 (undergoing final edit)

Hook or Logline (depending on if you are Philli and Jenni):

Perspiration dropped heavily from an old man’s brow as he bolted shut the door to a stone tower, the lock clanking unnecessarily loud to his heightened senses. He fastened the barred windows so that no one outside his room could see the light he lit when all seemed safe. No one must be drawn there, time was of the essence.

Summary:

This is the first in a Trilogy featuring a young man who, in the beginning, wants to live with his head in the sand. The turmoil of the times doesn’t affect him, so why get involved. He plans to lead a normal life with his family, that is, until he comes in contact with a creature that lands him in boiling water. His relationship with this creature forces him to become deeply involved with a subversive band of renegades, after the ultimate death of his family. By the end the first book he has come to realize everyone has a destiny, and you are either on one side or the other, there is no neutrality. Tierin must try to live his destiny while protecting those closest to him, including the Diegose who has bound herself to him.

The Mark of Destiny (in progress, name still to be decided)

Word Count: 83,567 words

Hook or Logline:

Two swords clashed together in a musical prelude. Sun glistened off the blades. Stroke after stroke the metal encountered resistance, testing the strength of the other weapon. Neither warrior spared the other, both fought to conquer. Sweat poured down their faces as their bodies straining under each other’s weight.

Summary:

This is the sequel to my first book. Time has passed since we last saw Tierin. He has fallen into place among the renegades, coming along side them in order to return the rightful heir to the throne (not him, by the way). But Tierin continues to struggle with the path laid before him. He must learn to fight his own inner demons of revenge and inadequacy before he can fight the terrors that surround him and those he holds dear. In this book Tierin will learn valuable lessons on how to stand on your own two feet and overcome adversities, both within, and without.

The final installment of the Mark of the Diegose (in the dream stages)

No word count at the moment, just lots of notes and ideas. The last book in the trilogy shows Tierin as a much more confident young man. All strings are tied, and the end plot unfolds. As soon as book two (3/4ths of the way finished) is done, I will begin writing this one and bringing it all together. Until then, this is all the information I will give you on the third book.

No, your love for the book (even though you've only read one chapter and the summary) is what cracks me up. I could see you, nose pressed up against the glass, shivering in the cold, waiting for this book to hit the shelves *laughs at the thought*

I’m glad I have a faithful follower ;)

I might just send you an autographed copy Aussie.

*faints at the thought of a signed copy* That would be epicalicious! :D After waiting all day at the bookshop I'd probably sit at my computer refreshing the bookshop page at intervals to see if it had arrived. :D

Here's some of my work in progresses. Not all mind you - not even close. Most are still in idea stage with Evenstar as my newest.

Evenstar
Progress: Idea Stage
Genre: Fantasy
What do you do when your destiny is cursed? When love is threatened to be taken away? When your blood is the blood of traitors? What do you do when even the future, seems to have sided with the enemy? All Chayton wanted was honor. The quest would certainly grant him that. Yet little does he realize that the foundation of his world will be shaken by the presence of the one he seeks – the one called Evenstar.

The Secret Forest (The Protector Series)
Progress: Complete, editing stage
Genre: Fantasy
It was a quest for a hero, not a seventeen year old girl. But the High King seems to enjoy raising up the humble and the broken. The one known as Dreamer will answer to the call of the Protector. She is destined to become great - to heal the valley, to strike down the enemy. It would all be so much easier though if she didn’t have to deal with the mischievous prince.

The Patriot’s Call (The Protector Series)
Progress: half written
Genre: Fantasy
Time is running out for both Dreamer and the valley. One wrong step and the King’s followers are bound to crumble under the enemy’s assault. It’s time to take a stand. It’s time to answer the patriot’s call.

Light in Darkness (The Protector Series)
Progress: idea stage
Genre: Fantasy
Sometimes there’s only one way to win a battle, as Dreamer is quickly discovering. Sometimes it takes a leap of faith. Sometimes it takes the courage to step behind enemy lines where there is no mercy and the only light comes from a place deep in your heart – a place where your darkest secrets struggle to remain hidden.

Till the Stars Rain Down (The Protector Series)
Progress: idea stage
Genre: Fantasy
Not everything lasts. Heroes fall; kingdoms rise. But when the valley is set to trembling from the enemy’s latest blow, Dreamer must cling to her friends for strength. Legends may not last, but there are some things that will remain till the stars rain down.

That was a hook. A logline is a one-sentence summary of the entire book. That was not a one-sentence summary of the entire book. ;)

Raven, I like the title “The Masked Bird”… fits the logline well.
