@Jonathan Garner: Some of my favorite authors are Wayne Thomas Batson, Bryan Davis, Stephen Lawhead, and Christopher Paolini. @MadeFree92: I've written a couple novels and am looking into finishing/revising my current one and then looking into querying literary agents about it. |

@Celestria: Read, but that probably goes without saying with the people on this forum : P I also like to play board games, try to learn how to program in a computer language, and competing in NCFCA, a speech and debate organization, during the school year. @Lycanis Mimetes: I have done one longer work as sci-fi, but I mostly do fantasy given that I'm much more familiar with that genre. |

The youth retreat I went to is TFY--Theological Foundations for Youth. It's a two week retreat that my church denomination's seminary puts on for soon-to-be high-school seniors where we have a lot of lectures on what our denomination teaches as well as practical ministry opportunities. |

Interesting, I hope all goes well as you revise your manuscript. I also hope we can provide any assistance that you might need. |

@Astronomer: I am from the RPCNA (Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America). You? Also, are you referring to Paolini's Inheritance Series as a whole, or the book Inheritance, which was the last in the series? @MadeFree92: Yeah, same... If I manage to get myself to revising it some time soon... *glares at the still unfinished manuscript that has been accumulating dust as he has been neglectful in adding to the story : P |

I was referring to the last book (otherwise I would have said Inheritance Cycle ). I am from the Brethren in Christ. It's similar to the Mennonites and Amish, though a bit less conservative. |

Ah, ok. I actually liked Inheritance, though I know a lot of people didn't. I was really happy that Paolini didn't choose to have Eragon marry/finally win over Arya, as that would have seemed to not have fit well with their characters. I also was happy to have a surprise at the vault of souls, as I was expecting Eragon to find a lot of Eldunari. And the way he killed Galbatoreaux was neat and unexpected--which most good last battles have. My one major disappointment in Inheritance was the lack of important people who died : P I know that Islanzadi died, but really, no reader cared much about her : P And though I would have been really sad to see a beloved character go (I was so sad when Angela was presumed dead), I felt like it was a bit unrealistic that every important character managed to survive... I also felt the whole menoa tree thing was kind of lame, but... There are my thoughts. I liked it a lot overall... If only Paolini could actually force himself to write faster... |
