Most of us here have read our fair share of books, and within all the stacks of books we've read, we have come across the solemnest, funniest, darkest, and most unique characters in the world.

However sometimes, on very rare occasions, I've noticed characters emerge that are quite similar to my own character. Their personalities reflect certain aspects of my own.

So! Has anyone else come across characters in their literary journeyings that reflect your own personality or character? Please share!

I'm not sure I'd want to confess what characters I see myself in. I often see my faults in characters, and can link myself to them that way.

I have not read a book character that is like me. Though, a few of my own characters have little bits and pieces of me.

Amanda says I'm like the Eleventh Doctor.

Distractable, spazzy, finds cool stuff all over the place, hyper, generally happy, passionate, intense personality, and likes hats.

I'm pretty happy with that analogy; Eleven is cool. XD

Well. I see myself in a bit of Missie from the Janette Oke books. I do see bits and pieces of myself in different books, but none is actually 'me'.

I doubt anyone is surprised I see myself as Gollum/Smeagol from LOTR. When I am feeling good about myself, I can also see myself as Gandalf. (You think maybe just about all I've read is LOTR?)

I haven't noticed any, really. But I think a more interesting question is 'Which book character do other people think you're like?'

Ditto to Arien. If I've ever noticed a character as being similar to me, the resemblance didn't stick in my mind well enough for me to recall it now.

I do the same thing.

Ahh, that is a more interesting question!

I have three book characters that remind me of some aspects of myself: the love of writing, poetry, the quick tongue, and the playful and loving nature of Rebecca from 'Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm' is similar to me. The many flaws of Katherine from 'Stepping Heavenward' I can quite often identify with. And the many wrong decisions and hilarious comments of Rose Red from 'What Katy Did at School' frequently reminds me of my own.

It would be intriguing to hear what all the HWers thought what character suited which member.

I haven't run across a character that has been completely me, but the closest I've found would be Walter from "Dragons in Our Midst" and "Oracles of Fire".
He doesn't have any obvious talents but is extremely loyal to his friends and has amazing humor. (I just wish I had as good humor. )

My character Michael Black is very alike to the character in the Tangled movie (we can do movies too right?); Flynn Ryder.

That's good Ines, it means you consider the worst things in the world to be what you struggle with. That's why I hate sarcasm, because I'm painfully sarcastic.

*mulls over books I've read* I'm having trouble thinking of any characters that specifically stood out... I tend to go through a book relating to one particular character but when all the books add up I'm not sure where to look for myself... Who do you guys think I resemble?

Kaida Bennet was based off of me. She's taken on her own mind now but she's still the closest anyone will ever be to who I am.
