Any ideas or hints? I'm planning on making an audio drama based on my novella series I'm releasing at the beginning of next year. The episodes will be released each week, with four episodes to each book. The audio drama will be available for free. The novellas will be provided as cheaply as is reasonably possible. I'm aiming for quantity over quality in every sense of the word. (While still being qualitative, of course!) at the end of the release I'll compile the drama into a sellable CD, and possibly offer it as a companion to the omnibus version of the book. In case you haven't figured it out the entire point of the audio drama is to sell the books. I'm not hoping to make any money on the drama itself. So... free audio drama! Where do you go to promote something like that? The more people who listen to it the more people who will be curious about the book, right? What's the easiest way to offer it to people? (I"m thinking I might stagger... start the audio drama two weeks before the book comes out... build up anticipation that way?) |

I actually have a podcast soon with Kevin Newsom in regards to his new audio book he is releasing, Katie. I'd be happy to ask him this. |

I have a free audiobook available of Red Rain that I'm using mostly as incentive to get people to try my work. If people hear about my book or my writing and are interested in trying it, they'll see I have a free audiobook that they can try risk-free. So right now I'm mostly promoting the audiobook in the same places as the paperback/ebook - "Here's my book... look, the audio version is free!" So right now it's mostly just "there" as a "free sample," but it seems to work very well. I hear of a lot of people trying it out, loving it, and coming back for more. |
