Melody Kondrael and I are producing our very first short film this summer. It's called Colordeath. Those of you who have been around long enough to remember and love Melody's work will remember some of her stories set in a world without any color. Colordeath is the prologue to this film. I'm having auditions on June 9th and we'll be filming June 29-July 1st. You can find out more about the film project at colordeath.wordpress.com This is starting to sound like an old, cheesy advertisement but at the risk of being hopelessly oldfasioned and cliche: "Wait, it gets even better!" Making films costs money, and money doesn’t grow on trees. Even a small donation can go a long way towards helping to defray our expenses. Our project operates on a shoe-string budget, but we still encounter numerous expenses, such as travel costs, gas money, and elf ears. $5 or more - A postcard of the original concept art. $15 – A signed 5″x7″ photo of the cast and crew and a postcard of the original concept art. $25 – An 8″x10″ signed photo of the elf ears you provided on the actor wearing them, a signed 5″x7″ photo of the cast and crew and a postcard of the original concept art. $30 - Your name in the credits, an 8″x10″ signed photo of the elf ears you provided on the actor wearing them, a signed 5″x7″ photo of the cast and crew and a postcard of the original concept art. Have you thought about doing a Kickstarter campaign? I've seen a lot of people hold those to raise money for post-production. You set a monitary goal and the goal must be reached or exceeded by the end of the donation period (usually a few weeks or a couple of months) or the project is not given the money. Not sure if that is what you're looking for, but it seems to help a lot of people.
