Marking 60 years of the Queen's Reign here. :) We have two bank holidays especially just to celebrate next weekend and Monday and Tuesday as well. Are any of my British fellow Countrymen celebrating? What do you have planned? :)

Yay for the Queen! ^_^ *Throws glitter in the air, since she's Canadian and it's her queen too* Though I think we celebrate it a different day. Not sure, but it's confusing.

Well... I'm not British... but I like Queen Elizabeth II, so congratulations lovely Queen! *curtsies* 60 years is quite an accomplishment.

*starts humming God Save the Queen* I love that tune. :D

Meanwhile, over here in the states we're having Memorial Day weekend, so we also have tomorrow as a holiday. It is a time to commemorate our troops. :salute: So, I want to give a big hearty thanks to those who have served/are serving in the U.S. Army right now. It takes lots of courage to do what you do.

But, since this thread is about the Queen, I give her back the spotlight. *curtsies* *starts humming Rule Britannia*

Haha... Nemo, that curtsy made me do a double-take... I regularly forget your gender. xD

I too respect the queen. *offers an American tip of the Fez*.

Well, I can't say as I know much about British rule, but congratulations for 60 years of leadership! :D

What fun! We got all the trimmings to go up today. :D British flags etc. We have quite a number of people coming on Monday for a BBQ which should be fun! Rachel is going to a street party on Monday morning, I think.

So, ironically, yesterday Mom was cleaning out one of her old wallets, and she found 20 pounds left in there... They reminded me of this thread. :D

Once again, congratulations, Queen Elizabeth II! :D

She's my queen too!
We're not doing much celebrating, but I was there over Easter and I collect spoons, so I bought a Jubilee spoon. I also got my sister a bookmark with the queen on it.
@Az: We don't celebrate Queen Elizabeth's coronation, or her birthay, or anything. We celebrate Victoria Day on the Monday before the 24th of May -Queen Victoria's birthday. She was the longest reigning British monarch, I think. I may be wrong.
So, happy Diamond Jubliee, everyone.

Lady Elanor is British? 0.0

We have our friend Sian, a staunch Brit, here visiting us right now, so we celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee (the day after) with getting a lesson on English nobility and the generations of the recent royalty. And watched bits of it on YouTube. :)

I am indeed!

*Chuckles* I've known Sian for years, Juliet. :D She's awesome. It was through Sian that I met Jay, and came to Holy Worlds.

Lady Rwebhu, I can hardly believe this escaped your attention... maybe we need a "Re-introductions" thread.

Oh! So cool that Sian finally made it over to your house... I guess she'll be heading to the States soon.

* grins * How was I supposed to know that Preston is located in England? And Sian has too many siblings to keep track of...not to speak of friends.

Visit us!

A re-introductions thread for some of the older members would be cool...it would be nice for the new guys, to find out who's who and all.

Thank you! :D

Anyone else watch the Jubilee Concert? I watched most of it, and skipped some of the acts. I loved Gary Barlow and Andew Lloyd-Webbers new song!

*laughs * Oh my Grandma filled us in on all the events and such, and kept up a running commentary through the intercom about things. :D

My Grandma loved Princess Diana, so she follows all the Royal Family's affairs. :D
