Greetings, I found this forum through OYAN, and checking over the member list, I can see a lot of you are on here. Hey, guys! For everyone else, my name is Lady PenWarrior, or Penny, if you prefer less of a mouthful. It's been a while, almost nigh three years, since I've had to scrawl out an introductory post, so I apologize if this seems a bit disjointed or boring, even. I am 19. I have been telling stories since I could talk, and writing consistently since I turned twelve. I have a strong admiration for celtic style, medieval atmosphere, and anything with a blade. The wonder of legends and symbols of valor, courage in battle against evil, victory in turmoil, are some of the most glorious to me. Most times, I think of story as a weapon, like a sword; a tool to be used in the battle against evil, which is very present today just as it was in the times of Kingly wars. My kingdom mindset may come out a little, forgive me if I get overdramatic about it. Since it is part of how I identify myself, I'll mention that I am the Queen of the PenKnights, a group composed of close friends of both myself and my family. We are, like you, dedicated to the creation of Godly, impactful media in the area of story. We are not a large group -- consisting right now of only nine members -- but we are close and dedicated. We worldbuild together, write, make short movies; a couple of us draw very well, handling concept art and illustrations for the various books, we have a costume designer and a seamstress, a photographer and director of photographer, a cartographer... Very often we will collaberate on the development of story worlds, as well, and even co-author novels. We're just starting out, but we have high hopes. If I refer to the PenKnights, which I seem to do often, then now you'll know what I'm talking about. I write fantasy for the most part, with also a portion of sci fi, and a little leftover for medieval historical fiction. Nothing I have published yet, but this Fall I intend to self publish the first book in a trilogy set in Xystia, a fantasy world that has been slowly developing between the PenKnights for about six years. I must say I am very much looking forward to poking about around here. It appears fascinating, from what I've seen, and rather exciting with all the Christian fantasy writers. Likely I'll be a bit ghostly for the beginning as I find my place in all this, but later I should be more decided, and hopefully I can help and not just be helped. May the Lord guard and guide your hearts and pens. |

Haha, thank you, all! I ended up flat on my back in the leaves in my PVC pipe sword duel with my brother, so having purple glitter in my hair, as well as sticks and leaves.... I'll look like some sort of woodland elfkin. |

Welcome, Penny!!! *dances around happily throwing buckets of shiny new pennies* I shall now proceed to list all of my nicknames. You can pick one, or make one up! Short, Shorty, Shortie, Shortzie, UnShort, NotThatShort, The Tall One, NTS, TTO, Goose, Hungry, Imnott, and I'm probably forgetting a few! Sounds like the PenKnights are a lot of fun!!! I really wish I had a group like that. Or that more HWers lived closer to me, or both! I only know 1 HWer in Virginia, and he lives about 3 hours away. Anyway, you ought to see a lot of me, I'm very active on here. I look forward to posting with you, O Queen of the PenKnights!!! |

My brother wraps the PVC swords in three layers of duct tape, and that seems to be helping immensely with the durability of the weaponry. Shorty, midget, midge.... My mind works oddly. *Laugh* If you don't like it I won't use it. I accidentally offended someone with a nickname once... That was weird. Not something I'd like to repeat, but we do nicknames so much in my family that it's hard to make my mind not think that way. Feel free to whack me if I get out of line. |

Welcome here! If you like nicknames, feel free to find one for me -I don't have any here. My name isn't very nickname-able. If it helps, you can use some deriviative of Sarah Dorothy as well (my real name), as long as it doesn't involve bears. And... I love Celtic style. I'm not very knowledgable, but I'm learning. |

Sali is the first nickname that comes to mind. Yeah, I'm not expert on Celtic stuff, either. But who said you had to be an expert to love it? |

*looks at names sideways* How interesting. Either one works, though I may never remember Sali. I would have to write it down so that I knew you were talking to me. Have at it, Short. What can you come up with? That is exactly how I feel about Celtic stuff. Do you like the music? Because you should look up Celtic Woman, if you do. |

I listen more to the Clancy Brothers, or else I just look up the words, the melody, then sing the songs myself. I love to sing Celtic songs. |
