So, I'd like some input on something. I am a staff member at a Christian Teen hangout ministry. We've moved to the smallest building we've ever had recently, which eliminates some of the activities we used to do, like skateboarding, basketball, any sport. Do any of you have any ideas for games/stuff to do that can be done inside? We have quite a few decks of cards, an Xbox/several other gaming consoles, an Air Hockey table, pool, and Fuse-ball. |

Well, there are some sit-in-a-circle games that are pretty fun, like have each person write a story for 1 minute, and pass their story to the left and add to the story that was passed to them...when the papers have made it all the way around the circle (or met the chosen number of passes), each person reads the one that they started. This one is really funny and can encourage creativity. There's a similar one where each person has a 'deck' of small papers or blank cards and they write something and pass it to the left, the next person tries to draw the thing and passes it on for the next person to try and write down a description of the thing in the drawing...etc. Hope those help! |

I understand the first game, and it sounds good, I'm thinking I'll try it out tomorrow. I don't quite understand the specifics of the second game though. Do they write a word, draw a picture of the word, and describe the picture all on the same card? |

Pretty much, but it might be something like "pizza" or even something ridiculous like "Pizza with ice cream topping" which makes it more fun because it's harder to draw, and will (probably) be quite hilarious at the end. Does that help? |

How does the person who draws the picture keep the person who describes it from knowing what it is by reading the word they were drawing? |

Kelcin wrote: How does the person who draws the picture keep the person who describes it from knowing what it is by reading the word they were drawing? Oh, I see what you mean. Okay, let's say there's a group of five people playing (though you can have however many you want). Each person gets five pieces of paper and writes a word on the top one, then passes it to the next person. The next person reads the word (hopefully without letting the person to their left see it), puts the paper with the word at the bottom of the stack and draws a picture of the thing mentioned. That way the person to describe the thing drawn doesn't see the first description, only the drawing based on the description. |
