| Well, I've posted a couple of my videos here and there around the forum, but I thought it'd be nice to have my own little thread all to myself. Makes me feel just a tiny bit like an evil overlord. *gazes out over thread with enigmatic evil overlord expression* Speak only if you are spoken to, peasant, or I will do something nasty to your cerebellum. Haha. Just kidding. My brothers and I started making short comedic (well, we thought they were funny) videos back in 2006, capturing video on our long-suffering mother's Canon Powershot and editing our masterpieces on Windows Movie Maker. The end results generally stunk, and now it's with great pain that I remember how eager we were to gather anybody who had a functioning brain stem in front of our tiny computer monitor and roll our latest flash of pixelated glory. It's been almost six years now, and we've transitioned through three computers and four different cameras, but we've kept the original name we stamped on our very first video--Broken Lens Productions. Just 'cause we're kinda sentimental like that. And now, without further ado... the videos. Some of 'em, anyway. Guy vs. World A parody on the popular reality tv show, Man vs. Wild. Featuring brief violence and a horrendous Australian accent; viewer discretion is advised. Redneck Winter Sports A comedic short involving our wannabe YouTube celebrity redneck, Bucephalus T. Dingleberry. Return of the Smoorai--Director's Commentary A sarcasm-infused "director's commentary" we did on one of our first videos. Awkward Hugs Concerning hugs, and some of the potential social faux pas that can result from this popular greeting. Well, that's prolly enough for now... Iffen you wanna see more, check out our official channel here: http://www.youtube.com/brokenlensprductions And you can also follow us on our Facebook fan page: http://www.facebook.com/brokenlensproductions We put out a new video every other week, so stay tuned, y'all. And do not forget to subscribe to our channel, small and insignificant peasant, or you will wake up in the depths of my torture chamber. *does evil overlord-ish malignant chuckle* Fidle out. | |

| Okay, I haven't been able to be really active on the forum lately, so I've got a little catching up to do... but here's the last two videos from BLP. Another Spoofentary! And yes, that is probably the only time you will ever see me wearing that particular color... A video about homeschoolers. And socialization. And girlfriends. Enjoy. | |

| Thanks, folks. Actually, this last one was a bit of a surprise--I intended it as a “filler episode” more of a last resort because the one I wanted to do that week was out of the question due to weather, but Socialized = Girlfriends has been my most popular video to date. So I guess I need to figure out what I did right and keep doing it. XD | |

XD I think part of the appeal for me was that it was debunking a common misconception about homeschoolers...if you did stuff like that relating to homeschooling and other things like that, they might be popular too.

| "Awkward Hugs" was your best in my opinion, with "Socialized" running near it. They were both good because they were relatively short and a frequent set of jokes that weren't running all into each other into a mess. I have been working on a film myself, a rather longish one, so I actually watched your videos to see what made funny movies work. Keep up the good work! | |

I'd like to work towards keeping my videos shorter--in this day and age, not many people want to sit through a ten minute YouTube video. Which is somewhat ironic, saying that, because our next video is gonna be kinda long... So what kind of films do you work on? Is yours a comedy?

| I specialize in comedy. although that is not quite true... All I do is comedy. It's actually going to be pushing 20 mins probably. I star as both the MCs, and one of the writers, with my younger bro co-writing and directing. I have a few friends for the other parts. My humor is mostly based on rapidly repeating randomness and sillyness, not so much the deeper clever humor of yours. I can do that, too, but not for 20 mins straight and I wanted to create something that long. Mostly just silly. | |

| Glad you guys liked it! Making it was pretty stressful--I had to manipulate the heck out of it in post-production to get rid of background noise (a noisy oil rig) and fix really crummy outdoor lighting, but I think it turned out okay. Grizzly seems to think I'm purposely portraying him as a buffoon. Can't imagine how he got that idea. | |

| Unfortunately I didn't get to meet him before he died, no. I was very saddened to hear of his death, though. From what I know about him, he was an amazing guy with a passion for living life to the fullest, and he loved his family very much. His death was a tragedy for Australia; we lost - in my opinion - the icon we were most proud of. | |
