Okay, this really has nothing to do with the story, but.... How did you make that mind map??!?!?! That is so cool! I want to make one for my story(s); I think that'd help with the flow a lot! |

I could use some tips on mind-mapping - to be honest, I haven't ever used one before. I used the bubbles for brainstorming a couple times in writing class, but that was only for topic choosing. I'm playing around with it now. |

I split the above three posts from the thread on my synopsis in the community story room. I think talking about how we use bubbl.us for mind mapping and how we use mind mapping in general for things is a very helpful discussion for this forum. So if you don't have an account yet, go get one, and post here letting us know what name you used (your name, not your username, for some reason) so that we can add each other as friends, share our maps, and collaborate on others! Ask questions, post your mind maps, give ideas, and have fun with mind mapping on this thread. |

It didn't ask me for a name! It just asked for a username. I was using the beta, if that makes a difference... |

Okay...I started (and shared with you) a mind map. So, what would you say is the greatest asset of having a mind map? |

Hmmm...can you do essence this way? What about that character fractalling system? Would that be even useful spread out in a mind map like this? (some of my answers to the fractal questions were pretty long...) I'm exploring the possibilities of mind mapping. In school, I was only taught to use it for brainstorming topics for essays and stuff--not for fiction writing. |

In school, I was only taught to use it for brainstorming topics for essays and stuff--not for fiction writing. You can. It can. The thing is that you can't do paragraphs in the bubbles with the regular version. You can in the beta version (but you can't share them). You won't always need them, but I just wanted to mention that. We try to use things like that for as many different things as possible. If you look at fractalling as organized thought, and mind mapping as visualizing the fractalling process, you suddenly realize that you can use them for anything you can think about. |
