Rewriting and reposting after having lost it yesterday...

Hail! You may call me Melody. I answer to the Kondrael, Kondrael, Mel, and Melody Anne, though. (if it sounds remotely like my name, I probably will answer to it! Just don't spell it wrong. ;))

Melody Kondrael is one of the main characters in a co-op historical fantasy piece that a friend & I are writing. (please do not borrow the word Kondrael – it's madeup especially for our story and we really like it) Therefore, it made sense that I would pick her name for my username. :)

I hope to learn a lot, and share a lot of what I know about writing during my time here. :)

Your sig intrigues me - that's one of your stories?

Thanks for the welcome! :)

Actually I think it is Quenya... then again I'm not that fluent in Elvish so I guess I wouldn't know.

And yes, that is one of my story ideas in my signature. Someday I'll get the first few chapters written.

You should, it sounds interesting! :)

Eh, I'm no Quenya scholar either. I just hadn't ever heard that phrase before and it didn't sound like any word roots I knew. ;)

Maybe it's Sindarin? lol I don't know much about Elvish.

Welcome, Melody :D Glad to see you here, though I am not here very often these days.

Mmm, I haven't seen a ton of Sindarin. I think most of what's in LotR is Quenya (with a couple scattered Sindarin phrases) and the History of Middle-earth books I read only had early "Gnomish" and I think some Quenya in 'em.

Anyway, not that it matters! :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome! :)

(and now I can see who are the Tolkien fans around here...! :D)

Not quite: You've got to read my debate in the Tolkien Review Topic before you judge my state of fanship. ;)

I did read it. :) Before I got a sign-in, I think.

I established that you are someone who likes LotR but finds some errors in the writing, particularly with the elves and the Valar.

But considering the rest of your LotR talk, I'd say you like it very much despite your theological misgivings...

LOL, Calenmiriela!

For the record, Calenmiriela is the one who came up with the word "Kondrael" which morphed from the name of a resistance group to the surname/rank name of my character in a co-op book with another friend of mine. :D
