Post subject:  Hi

Hello, I was very excited (and still am!) when I found this site. Most of the Christian Fantasy author websites I've found looked outdated and inactive, I'm so glad that this is an exception!

I am seventeen, I have only written a short bit in fantasy, but hope to dwarf the (over 100k of) just plain ole fiction that I have written. I find that when I try to write a story, it ends up being pretty fantastic (in an unrealistic sort of way) and so I'm hoping that by actually setting out to write something that doesn't bend to the same rules we're used to, I will be able to write some good stories that will be publishable! Most of all, I want to build a world and write stories that take place in it that will glorify God and point people to him and make people think about things in new ways, similarly to how C.S. Lewis and Tolkien have for me.

Currently I have an unedited 50,000 word manuscript for a post apoc. story I wrote for NaNoWriMo, so I might not be very active for awhile until I've got that taken care of. I can't wait to get to know some of you guys (at least to the point that you get to know people on a forum :) )

Welcome to HWFF! :D

I can't wait to hear more about your stories! Some of the members on here did Nano, although I didn't myself. Well done on the 50k words.

Look forward to seeing you around! :)

Thanks! Well...I haven't figured out my essence, yet, but I expect it could portray it (or a part of it) I thought of it with the help of some friends while we were at our church family camp out and had heard that people would either figure out a nickname for themselves, or be given one (that would probably be very funny, but not what they would have chosen  ) anyway, I like wolves, and I like to run (though I'm no where near being 'in shape'.
And thank you everyone! :D I'm flattered that you would throw confetti and put up streamers for me (though the confetti can get annoying when it gets in my hair (fur?) and face, please be careful where you throw it ;) ).

Welcome, Mr. RunningWolf. (I love that name.)
Your mission in writing fantasy lines up perfectly with this website's mission. I really hope you can settle in and find a home here. :)

To make you feel extra at home, here is a warm batch of Pumpkin Gingerbread muffins. :D
And don't be scared of the glitter. Glitter is what we do. ;) But you should run if someone sets a glitter bomb.

Welcome RunningWolf! :D Hope you enjoy it here. *Looks at bomb* I've never seen that go off before. *Gives brownies* Or, you can have a fuzzy kitten too, if you want. :) I figured since you were a guy you'd like the brownies more. ;)

Oh, I'll go for ultimate frisbee! Can't throw well, but I like playing! ^^

What is your NaNo about?

Post subject:  Re: Hi

Whatever you say, star of the party! I kind of know how to play; I've played it before.

Post subject:  Re: Hi

Yeah, I'll pass on the kitten, bring on the brownies!

My Nanowrimo 'entry' is about a boy (about 17) in the future at a time when nano weapons of mass destruction wiped out all but a few hundred of the human race.
He is immune to the 'nano virus', but needs to get away from civilization to avoid the possibility of the virus adjusting to him and taking him as well. In the early stages of his adventure, he finds a girl about the same age as himself who was supposed to have died along with everyone else in america (the number of survivers throughout the world was only about 2-350). So the story is about how these two people live in the wilderness of Alaska, I'm not yet sure how the story ends. :)

*enters softly* No more secret glitter bombs about to go off? Well, if not, we can just enjoy what we have.
*dances in the glitter that swirls around the room* Pretty...

Welcome, Wolf. I wrote about a virus of sorts for NaNo too, but mine was a plague in about 600 B.C. Very sad.
*begins to move towards brownies without anyone noticing*
*resorts to using tables and kittens as cover*

Author:  RunningWolf [ December 21st, 2011, 6:12 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Hi

Thanks! Yes, viruses are pretty um...sadness causing, :bawl: In fact it was a while before my characters got over it (though I probably need to make a better effort at sadness since literally EVERYONE they knew had died. But the virus definitely drove the plot along...

That's ok, thanks! I have been having a blast exploring Holy Worlds, in many ways this site and the people I've met have been answers to prayer and dreams come true! My family gets tired of hearing me talk about my fantasy world (though they aren't opposed to it), but the people here haven't told me to shut up yet! Lol
