Howdy!

Okay, so I did things kinda backwards. I joined the sci-fi forum a few months ago, and it’s taken me until now to finally get around to joining this here fantasy thingamajigaroo. But I promise I’m not bringing any photon blasters, space cruisers, or little purple men with me…

I’m Fidle, FiddleGuitarist to some people who might know me from other forums, Braden for anybody who would just go absolutely nuts if they didn’t know my actual real-life name. My middle name and the maiden name of my great-great-aunt are highly confidential and cannot be divulged here, sorry about that. I'm an avid writer (don't look so surprised), reader, musician, and filmmaker in any insignificant fragments of spare time I can scrape off the kitchen floor. I'm a Christian homeschooled farm boy with a love for words, musical sounds, and yogurt covered pretzels, and currently I'm thrilled to be rubbing shoulders with all y'all fantastic writer peeps. (Yes, we really do use rustic terms like All Y'all out here in boonie-land. Humor me.)

Look forward to getting to know you fine folks better in the future. Allons-y!

PS... If you're wondering what the heck Prolegomenous means, I really dunno. I just tacked that in there so I'd sound really really smart. Like you guys. :P

You're not the only one. I've seen others like you who lurk our forums...
Not me though. I only use 'eh'. :P
Welcome here! You'll find music -lovers in the Arts Guild and avid writers everywhere. You're the first person I have met who can scrape time off the floor -I get mine from the cupboards.
I look forward to getting to know you (and your story. you should post some writing in the Fireside). See you around!
*leaves out a chocolate welcome cake and some mandarin oranges for Fidle and all who come to greet him.*

p.s. Are you very fluent in French?

Cupboards. You are a talented person. Tell me how you do that sometime.
*cuts a slice of cake and peels an orange* *exercises much will-power in trying to leave a few slices for everybody else*
And no, I'm not fluent in French... just Doctor Who. ;) The Tenth Doctor uses that phrase a lot...

I've tried writing fantasy before, but I took a break and went to dystopian sci-fi... Now I'm trying my hand at fantasy again, albeit the Steampunk kind. :p We'll see how it goes.

I've played contemporary folk, Celtic, alternative rock, bluegrass, classical, country, and the teeniest bit of Western Swing. The stuff I write tends to fall in the alternative/folk rock genre, although I like to change it up from song to song. Do you play music as well?

Welcome to HW, Fidle!

Farm boy, eh? Got any cattle around you? Farming is a mighty fine way of life. Ever run through the corn fields? Great hide-out there, if I might say so myself.

As for a Fiddle [space] Guitarist, is that what you play? A Guitar?
Hard for me to think of a fiddling guitar. I always thought the lovely violin was the one called the fiddle and the music called Irish. Do tell me, can a guitar be played with fiddle music? (I may have proved myself wrong with just that last sentence!)

Anyway, HW is a great place. I, too, thought that the people were extremely friendly. It amazed me. Now as for me, you can call me Donn, or Quixote, or make up a nickname of your own if you wish. I'm the insane knight that thought windmills were giants and inns were castles. Don't mind me!

-stabs windmill and whacks windmill with shield- Aha! Take that, you blubbering codfish!

As you can see, my skills are extensive. Welcome to HW, again, friend!

God Bless

I can play three--no! four!--chords on the guitar. My instrument's piano.

Ohhhh! You submit to Kingdom Pen!! I read that magazine! *looks up archived magazine* You wrote 'the Elf'?

That's the one. I'm wanting to submit something else soon--it's a great magazine. Where did you hear about it?

And hey, four guitar chords can really expand fast. ;) Wish I could play piano. For some reason that instrument has never come easily for me...

I've got a few videos of some of my older songs on YouTube, but I haven't posted anything lately due to copyright issues. Meaning that I haven't copyrighted anything yet, and I don't really wanna put them online until I do. ;) You can watch what I have posted here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZQdITjvN-w&feature=channel_video_title

Very nice. It will be interesting to hear what you release in the future.

Heard about it on the Reb. What about you? I thought your story the most skillfully written I've seen in KP yet. You should submit again. :D

Keep trying. ;) Its so cool once you've got over the initial difficulties of technique. Same with guitar, I guess. :)

Hey, I know you guys. My family was in the Silver Dollar City Youth Bluegrass Contest this past year, too. You guys were awesome.
Fancy meeting you here.

YOU WERE??

Small world. What was the name of the band you were in? Silver Dollar City is an awesome place, no?

And thank you. :D We plan on returning next year. ;)

Yup. You can do a TON of stuff with only four chords. One of the reasons I love the guitar. It can get really complicated and hard at the advanced level, but it doesn't take much to just have fun with it. ^.^

And thanks! Always love positive feedback. :D

Thanks! :dieshappy: Yeah, I figured you prolly weren't actually ROTF... although since making that video, it has been proven to me that the aforementioned action actually is possible... Oh well. At least it made a decent video. ;)
