Post subject:  Phobias!!!!!
I have compiled together a list of phobias (Thanks for the idea, Cammie) If you have a phobia, I would like to hear about it. :)
1. Hippopotomonstrosisquipidaliophobia= The fear of long words (From Green Mist)
2. Luposlipaphobia= The fear of being pursued by timber wolves around a kitchen table whilst wearing socks on a newly waxed floor. :shock:
3. Aerophobia= Fear of swallowing air.
4. Auroraphobia= Fear of Northern Lights.
5.Barophobia= Fear of gravity. o.O
6.Peladophobia= Fear of bald people.
7.Consecotaleophobia= Fear of chop-sticks.
8. Aulophobia= Fear of flutes.
9. Athazagoraphobia= Fear of being forgotten.
10. Arachnibutyrophobia= Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth.
11. Anthropophobia= Fear of people.
12. Panphobia= Fear of everything.
13. Vershguphobia= The fear of me!!!!! (Just kidding).
14. Phobophobia= The fear of developing a phobia.
15. Ranidaphobia= Fear of frogs.
16. Russophobia= Fear of Russians.
17. Soceraphobia= Fear of parents-in-law.
18. Spheksophobia= Fear of wasps. (For you Elrond).
19. Telephonophobia= Fear of telephones.
20.Venustraphobia= Fear of beautiful women. o.O
21.Zemmiphobia= Fear of the great mole rat.
22.Lachanophobia= Fear of vegetables. (I hope Azlyn doesn't have this!!).
23. Gnomophobia= Fear of garden gnomes.
24. Germaphobia= Fear of germs.
25. Ornithophobia= Fear of birds.
26. Agateophobia= Fear of insanity. (Glad I don't have this because I'm already insane!!!! :twisted:).
27. Catoptrophobia= Fear of mirrors.
28. Coulrophobia= Fear of clowns.
29.Omphalophobia= Fear of bellybuttons.
30. Philophobia= Fear of love.

Arachnophobia -the fear of spiders, one of the most common phobias ever.
Gnosiophobia -the fear of knowledge o.O
Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia -the fear of the number 666.
Myctophobia -the fear of the dark, also very common.
Thanatophobia -the fear of death or dying.

Apiphobia is the fear of bees and Insectophobia is the fear of insects.
Phobias are fun to learn about, but not so much fun to have. My brother has to get rid of spiders for me. :/

There's a website (if you Google phobias) that has a huge list of them. :D Even so, I don't think some of the ones you listed are on there. ;) *loves the one about timber wolves and peanut butter*. :rofl:

That's a very precise way of putting it, but I was never stung on the foot. I was stung on the eyelid.

Those are some pretty funny phobias.

Yes, I know that I am much bigger than spiders. Yes, I know that most of them are not dangerous. Yes, I know that spiders create cool webs and help keep insects under check. Yes, I can see the rational side of these arguments. No, I'm not cured. :P

I have a doctor and needle phobia. It comes from many things, and isn't just an "I don't like them".

Now, my Doctor Phobia had to get better, after Samuel was born, and I tolerate Doctors much better now. There are some trustworthy and kind doctors out there.

Needles and I still don't get along, nor shall we ever. Being a pincushion will do that to you. :P

Ah. Hmmm... I like our doctor, but hospitals... Ai. O.O :P

I get along with needles much better than I used to, the way I can now tolerate loud sounds most of the time. I can "deal with them" to some extent.

I've been through a lot of phobias, actually. Most of them disappeared after I learned about them. A couple only showed up in nightmares, which I could control. * shrugs * If anyone wants the stories I can try to write them up... It was years ago. :D

I no longer have a fear of doctors. I learned over time that not all doctors are bad.

Needles cause a physical response from me. I normally do okay, as long as I don't see the needle...

My phobias came from bad/traumatic situations, thus I have the phobias. Nothing else bothers me on a physical level like that.

That's good. They aren't typical fears you just happen upon. Most people who have the fear have it because of past occurances. :D

I have Emetophobia (fear of vomiting) to the extreme. It's something I've struggled with most of my life which has led to anxiety attacks and eating disorders. :/ This is the best year I've had so far. I had an attack last night, but they are usually far and few now. It's been a dark, spiritual battle, but the Lord has been beside me each step, for which I am grateful.

I have a small case of Arachnophobia, but not bad enough where my fear drives me to kill them. (Although it usually depends on the size of the little beastie.) ;)

Poor Calen. :'( That would suck so bad. :( Praying for you. Praying that you all get over your phobias(Which isn't easy :P ).
I am glad I didn't have that one when I was little. When I was three years old, every week I would get sick and vomit at least 3-10 times. :( It stopped when I had surgery when I was four and a half. :)

Thank, Danko. It isn't a pleasant phobia to say the least. :(

I wouldn't have handled that very well if I was in your situation. >< But I'm glad you got better. I can remember the majority of the times I got sick from the age of 3, where I was when it happened, and other unpleasant details. Those things get engraved in my poor brain. :P Thankfully I haven't actually gotten sick like that since I was nine years old. I'm hoping to keep it that way, but I'm sure my facade will end someday.

Agyrophobia: Fear of streets or crossing the street.
Aichmophobia: Fear of needles or pointed objects
Albuminurophobia: Fear of kidney disease. :'( *Has had kidney surgery*
Anablephobia: Fear of looking up.

Androphobia: Fear of men.
Anglophobia: Fear of England, English culture, etc.
Angrophobia: Fear of becoming angry

Ankylophobia: Fear of immobility of a joint.
Anthrophobia: Fear of flowers.
Anthropophobia: Fear of people or society.
Antlophobia: Fear of floods.

Anuptaphobia: Fear of staying single.
Apeirophobia: Fear of infinity.
Aphenphosmphobia: Fear of being touched.
Apiphobia: Fear of bees.

Apotemnophobia: Fear of persons with amputations.
Macrophobia: Fear of long waits.
Mageirocophobia: Fear of cooking.

I don't like spiders and all that but really, there are some BIG ones out there! I've seen a black widow crawl out next to me and that has officially scarred me for life. :shock: Those things are HUGE!!!! *shudders* Eeeeek!

I honestly have fears (not phobias) of being single and of men. That originated from many bad examples in my life yada yada... Anyway, a good way of contracting it for me is to give up on getting married and embrace being the bachelorette writing stories all the time. :D I've been a loner and always will be, but if God gives me the right guy I'll accept that with open arms too. :cool:

I just don't like angry people and I'm not too fond of getting angry myself. :P My reaction to it is a cross between shutting down emotionally and/or going on a momentary paragraph filled with "I'm sorry" in various languages. It's sort of hilarious if, you know, you're...not...me. :roll:

Oh! I also have a phobia of thunder (great claps of it) and lightning (snaking bolts.) But that's do to a bad experience with it in 2006. I'm slowing getting over it though. ^^
