From the 17th to the 21st, I will be unable to access this forum due to a speech and debate tournament near the Canadian border. I thought I'd give fair warning so I could answer any questions about the tournament, and about the community story, before I leave.

So, hammer away! (For those of you across the pond, who may not have heard American English in a while, that was a slang phrase, equating to "crush my brain with a trillion answer-less questions!"

Redemption is to be purchased, to have a price paid. So I was redeemed from my master sin, and from justice, which demanded my death. For He paid the price of sin by becoming sin, and met the demands of justice by dying for us.

For all men have a master. But a man cannot have two masters. For he will love one and hate the other. You cannot serve God and sin. So I die to the old, as He died, and I am resurrected to the new, as He was resurrected.

Note: Ebed is Hebrew for bondsman, Eleutheros is Greek for unrestrained (not a slave).

You do speech and debate? So cool! What's your favorite style? (I don't know if that's the word, but I mean things like improv, persuasive, etc.) Are you on a team?

I am a member of a speech and debate club and I am an affiliate of the Nation Christian Forensics and Communications Association, a Christian group reserved for home-educate high-school students. (That was a mouthful.)

In the NCFCA they are called events. I don't have particular favorites, but there are a few are really don't prefer. I am competing in Dramatic Interp., Duo Interp. and Impromptu. (Check out Extemporaneous on the website...it's scary.)

I am not debating this year, but I'm planning on competing in Lincoln-Douglas (One-on-one value debate) during the 2010-2011 season.

Wow! It sounds really fun! The NCFCA? I don't think I've heard of them. Although, I've actually only heard about one organization, the name of which I cannot at this moment remember. I hope you have a good time!

I have returned! And I'm still alive, too!

It was fun. I learned quite a bit.

Elestar, you may be thinking of the National Forensics League, confusingly known as the NFL...one can imagine how much this bothers football fans.
