I was thinking about this topic.  You SHOULD enter chat when you are procrastinating because someone who is reading your story may show up and COMMAND you go write. You SHOULD NOT enter chat when you are procrastinating because the interesting people and conversations will suck you in for a loooong time. There are more of these contradictions.  Just think of some more.

You should not enter chat when you only have five minutes. Forty five minutes later you get back to hanging the washing.  You should not enter chat into the middle of a deep theological debate; you may be required to say something.

You should enter chat if you need help with something story or homework-related, because people are very helpful... but you should not enter chat because you will end up getting nothing accomplished for at least an hour.

You SHOULD enter chat if you are having computer problems because someone (like Dieki) will probably know how to fix it. You SHOULD NOT enter chat if you are having computer problems because the slowness of chat will drive you crazy! |

You shouldn't go on chat if you are editing or moderating anything! It's really easy to get distracted... I think you SHOULD enter chat when ROID is there, just, if you happen to be Dieki, call "Protection from glomping". And you SHOULD enter chat if the artists are taking over; all the non artist types would have to defend HW! ~ZA |

You should NOT enter chat at midnight because it will postpone your bedtime another hour. You SHOULD enter chat at midnight because soul-shields tend to be low and fellowship tends to be warm at that hour.

| I'm always forgetting this thread exists, until people post on it. You SHOULD enter chat when is is bursting into the chat log, because that many people makes for a lot of excitement! You should NOT enter chat when it is bursting into the chat log, because you probaly won't be able to keep up with the conversations or the craziness. (PC-ing is wonderful though when that happens.) ~ZA |

You SHOULD NOT enter chat if I am there because you will either: Get tackled Get turned into a llama Get a gigantic teddy bear thrown at you Get shot out of a cannon Get poked to death Get eaten. Get a glass of milk thrown at you. (This has only happened to Luke so far...) |

We've actually had people get eaten? I mean, I know I almost ate Cat... but actually eaten? You should enter chat if Nemo is there. You will get wrapped up in a wonderful undersea adventure in a submarine run by an almost-crazy captain. You should not enter the chat if Nemo is there. She might kidnap you with her submarine and shove octopus guts down your throat. |

| It depends on which mood I am in. Determine my mood, and then make a decision accordingly. You should enter chat if there are people in there who can help you edit a paper you've put off editing.  (Thanks guys! )You should not enter chat if it will prevent you from editing a paper you need to edit. |

You SHOULD enter chat if you're lacking inspiration, it will be recharged, and quickly. You SHOULD'NT enter chat if you're lacking inspiration because you will forget about writing and your story and then you'll have to dream it up again. If you're feeling sick you should enter chat, even if it is late at night, they'll at least try to cheer you up. You shouldn't enter chat at 11:25 PM, even if you are feeling sick because you'll be up until the wee hours. |

You SHOULD NOT enter chat when nobody is around, because then you'll be alone in chat and bored and want to go do something else. You SHOULD enter chat when nobody is around, because otherwise we'd all be stuck with nobody in chat and nobody entering. |
