Hello.

I came here by request of a good friend of mine, Eli McGowan. I don't know if anyone knows him as he was a member here who is, to my understanding, currently inactive.

That aside, hello. My name is Kayla, though my screen name is AeolianMode because I really enjoy music and Greek mythology. Aeolius is the Greek god of wind, and the word "aeolian" means "of the wind", though the Aeolian Mode is a natural A-minor scale in music.

I am moreso an artist and musical composer than I am a writer. I am working on a graphic novel called "Age of Mortality" found at http://www.btcomics.com and my art gallery can be found at http://aeolianmode.deviantart.com.

I enjoy roleplaying very much. I play Lord of the Rings Online on the server Landroval. My character's name is Kaikuro. I pop in there once a week or so so if you happen to play as well, I'd love to meet you there. And if anyone here enjoys text-based roleplaying and wants a partner just let me know.

I have been a Christian all my life and I have a great interest in high fantasy storytelling. This site seems to be a very complex setup and it will take me some time getting used to it, but I really like what I see so far and I hope to get to know you folks soon. Thank you for your time.

Wow, Aeo!

I have only just turned your music on and I'm in love! It's amazing! I'm just soaking it all in! You are so talented!

I am no good at art myself, although my Mother used to paint with watercolours a lot and my dad did pyrography, so I love seeing other artists work.

I still feel bad to this day for abandoning Tritterus. Oh well.

I'm trying to become more active on my own forum... I had to abandon that temporarily as well.

How is everyone? I keep up with a lot of you on Facebook and Twitter.

Kayla is an amazing artist, musician, AND writer. She's helping me and our friend Adam with a film project, and her script is so dark and haunting. It'll be awesome.

Oh my goodness! How awesome! :D What medium do you use, typically? Your pieces are very good, with dark, grunge undertones.

Greetings, Kayla! I normally don't venture into this area of the forums, but I saw your post in the Arts Guild and then saw your name...and I just had to say hi to someone with such an awesome name.

I'm enjoying listening to your music. I saw that you use a keyboard for your recordings as well as a "Cubase AI4"...what is that, exactly? I've never heard of it before.

Since you're a composer, I feel obligated to poke you towards this thread, Write a Song from a Picture. We'd love to have you join us over there.

Your name is so very awesome!. I play/played LOTRO My brothers still do. There is talk about HW starting up a kinship on Firefoot. I'll try and find that thread and give you a link to it!. :)

HW can be a little confusing at first, but once you get the basic concept of it, you'll have no trouble at all!!. (Although I must admit, I'm not to great with the Search part)

@Airi: I looked through your gallery, I am stunned. Your traditional work is very refined, I really love it! As far as my work goes, I use Photoshop CS4 with a Wacom tablet. I usually don't work traditionally.

@Evening: Thank you for the welcomes, it means a lot. Cubase AI4 is a sort of fancy-shmancy recording software that I still haven't figured out. Most of the time I just use an external microphone to record my music directly off my keyboard's system. Very inefficient work, but it's something.

Thanks for the thread! Unfortunately I don't have steady access to my keyboard but I can see what I can do.

*giggles * But see, Aeoli, I'm impressed with what you do. I can sketch, and I paint murals and all of that stuff, but I can't create what you do with the computer. I can photomanipulate, but I can't build on the computer without the pieces. :D

I'm so excited that my art is being received so well already. You guys are so enthusiastic and accepting. I wish I'd found this place ages ago, I'd been losing momentum with making pages for my comic because I simply didn't feel like it mattered at all, but now I really want to get my next page released soon, hopefully this weekend. And I really hope I can find people to critique my script as well, as it always helps to get an outsiders opinion on certain developments in the script.

@Airi: I'm always impressed with people's traditional skills myself, as I have never really gotten the hang of traditional mediums. Technically I've been using digital mediums longer than traditional, if using MS Paint counts :P I just can't stand not having an 'undo' button which makes me lazy. :P

And it's awesome that you love composing; I play the piano, but I've never been able to get a hang of the composing side of things. I haven't been able to listen to any of your work yet... hopefully I'll get to it soon! :D

I think I read all of pages of The Age of Mortality (it is hard to tell if I got to the last page or the computer broke), and I like how much work you put into it, it makes me want to give a detailed review for each page. Welcome to Holy Worlds, Aeolian Mode! It's wonderful to have another artist on the forum. ^^ I checked out the first few pages your comic (due to limited time on my part) and think the illustrations are really unique and have a personal flair to them. Your coloring is fabulous. :D

Wacom tablets are great, aren't they? I have the Bamboo Pen since I'm not doing anything too crazy right now. ;)
