After creating the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang thread, I had the idea of making a movie night on HW a monthly event. We could find a movie once a month to watch, and then watch it at the same time and log into the chat room while we watch. Then we can comment on the movie, sing along if it's a musical, and do all sorts of other stuff.

So, what do you think? Vote in the poll if you like any of the movie suggestions for October, or post a movie suggestion here and I'll add them to the poll. I do ask that you ask your parent's permission before deciding on a movie, even if members here say they're appropriate, just because I know each family has their own standards.

Well, I recently borrowed (and watched) Funny Face with Fred Astaire & Audrey Hepburn. It was hilarious, I loved it! :D

The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe would be another good one, even though I already watched it. :D

It's not possible for me to watch the movie and be in chat at the same time, though. :(

Hmm...I don't know if I've seen that version of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, but I love the other version, so I'd say either that one, or Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, which I've seen and thought was rather funny :P

It's the newest version of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I would love to watch Seven Brides for Seven Brothers with y'all. I LOVE that movie. It's hilarious! Funny Face would be another personal favorite, but I would love to watch any of the options so far.

After doing the last super fun movie night, I want to do another! :D I didn't vote yet because I couldn't decide... :P But I love Fiddler on the Roof, and I also think it would be fun to do The Sound Of Music, and..... Random question: Has anyone seen the movie HoodWinked? :D

I would love to have a movie night... especially after seeing you and Azlyn last night!

Narnia is the only movie I have, but I'm sure I could find the others at a Redbox or something. I also have The Sound of Music, that Azlyn suggested. I love that movie. :D

I love the Sound of Music too, but it's very, very long. We'd probably have to break it into two movie nights or something.

And I've seen Hoodwinked. I thought it was all around dreadful. :P

What?! I totally understand if you didn't like it, but I think that movie is epically awesomazing!!! It's original, quotable, and fantastic! I don't know about HoodWinked Too... that one didn't look good. But I would actually highly recommend HoodWinked. I can't really think of anything bad in it...

By the way, I am up-dating the poll, so if everyone could re-vote, I would appreciate it! :D

Alright, maybe it was just the environment in which I watched as much as I did. :) (noisy siblings, Dad didn't like it, and I missed some of it, so it was hard to catch what was going on)

I HATED Hoodwinked. The animation was horrible, the story was ridiculous, the humor was cheesy and fake, there was no theme at all, and the characters were absurd, and not in the good way. And even the usually-great actors were awful.

I don't think you would like it, Airi. None of my siblings (ages 19-4) liked it either.

*votes the same three that she voted before*

Ahem. Sorry for the outburst. I love Hoodwinked, it's funny, awesome, quotable, and I can't think of anything bad about it! *High-fives BangBang who is one of few who like Hoodwinked*

Oh, and I re-voted for The Sound Of Music, HoodWinked, and Fiddler on the Roof. :D

Even though I missed half of it because I was in a high-tension game of chess, it was pretty funny.

I don't understand how anyone could like it. :P So I suppose we're even? :)

And I've yet to meet anyone who loves it with a passion. Some people just labor under the delusion that it's cute and funny.

I still think The Sound of Music is too long, though it would be a lot of fun. :D

I vote watching the Narnia movie. Definitely. ('Tis one of my favorites.)

When would the movie night be? I have to check if I'll be busy then or not. (Most likely not, but if I am I shouldn't be voting for something I won't end up watching with ya'll...)

My thoughts exactly, Azlyn! I love Hoodwinked... "Dolf, get the brat. And Keith...darn it, change your name. It's not...scary. Boris, try that." :dieshappy: Haven't seen the sequel, but that unfortunately looks rather awful :(

I voted Narnia. I have never seen Hoodwinked or Mega Mind. I don't like Funny Face and am not too keen on 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. Fiddler on the roof and Sound of music are both really long films, and I don't know if I'd have time to stay in my room for that long. :) Depends. I enjoyed it the other night, shame about the time difference because it means I have to leave before it's finished, unless I just start it earlier than you guys.

I think we need to try a Saturday this time because Sunday nights tend to be busy for some people. 6:00 PM EST was about 9:00 or 10:00 PM for Elanor, so it worked out a little bit. Perhaps we could move it earlier? 4:00 PM EST?

It looks like I could do it the 15th or the 22nd, but I'd have to double check with Mom. Do those dates work for you guys?

I think what we'll do is we'll take the movies we have and watch them from most popular vote to least popular vote. So this month we'll watch Narnia, next month Mega Mind or the Sound of Music, etc.

I personally love all of the movies on the list, but I totally understand if anyone doesn't like them. I'm an old musical movie type person, but also love really good modern movies. I just finished watching Funny Face for a second time and still love it.

Anywho, does this all sound good to you guys?

That all sounds good to me. :D

As far as dates... I think I'll just wait and see what works for everyone else, and see if it works for me. My schedule is crazy right now, especially since high school swimming comes to a head in October. :)

Casablanca!

Not really. I don't have much time in October.

It is a good movie though.

Awesome :D That'd work if we watched Narnia; we have that one, and it's on DVD so I could watch it on my computer.

Any day works for me, but I'm not usually in my room at that time. Either starting sometime between noon and 1 (central), or sometime after 8 or 9 PM would work best for me, but I can fix my schedule to work with whatever y'all want to do.

Please, please, please don't fit the time around me, guys. I'm in the minority here as I'm basically the only person from England. Most of you here are from America. I'll just fit in where I can, if you pick a Saturday I can stay up late on Saturdays anyway. I'd be upset if I thought I was causing other people to miss out on the film night fun. :) I'll just fit in with what time you pick that's best for all you. :) (Although I do think it's very kind that you thought of my time zone difference *hugs*)

I'm not allowed to watch Narnia. :/

Megamind, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and The King and I are the only options for me.

I'm busy on Saturday nights 8:00 - 9:00ish, CST.

I can no longer do the 15th, but I think I can make the 22nd. Perhaps 22nd 6:00PM EST? Does that work for everyone?

Awww! I was gonna be able to make the 15th! My parents are gonna be gone, so the boys and I were gonna participate. Oh well.

I'll be gone the 22nd with my Daddy, so I'll have to drop out.

Awwwww! I'm sorry Airi!!! :(

Perhaps we could have two movie nights? One group could watch Narnia and would could watch Mega Mind? Or both could watch Narnia. That way those who can't make one date might be able to make the other?

*fell in love with MegaMind recently *

So, anyone want to join me? Or not, if you can't.

I was waiting for someone to decide. :D I'll watch whatever though. I've already seen Narnia a billion times, so if you wanted to watch something else, Elanor, I'd be up for that. :D

I have also seen Narnia lots, Airi, so I'm happy to find something else to watch. I am not using the site I was on anymore to find films to watch as when I googled it I became suspicious that it wasn't a legal site. So therefore it has to be a film we both have. :D I'll be free on Sat. to watch something though so that would be cool! Do you have any films you'd like. I can then see if I have them. :)

Oh dear, no. I don't have any of them. I have seen National Treasure (but don't own it) but none of the others.

*Chuckles* Ok then. *Pokes around in boxes and cupboards to see what films are lurking there*

Ratatouille, Dreamer, Blackbeards Ghost, Fiddler on the Roof, (I'm not sure if these are all supposed to be fantasy some aren't) The Count of Monte Cristo and The Scarlet Pimpernel (Older version). I think my sister has Princess Diaries 2 as well.
