Post subject:  Hallo, I'm new

Hallo all! I've never been to Ireland except in books, but I feel like I live there. I am part German and learning a bit of the language(hallo is hello in German).
I am just about finishing the first draft of the first book of a hopefully big series. I'm fourteen and home-schooled.
I love cats and climbing trees. And I love the woods. I've written a few poems but they still need some work. This looks like a pretty cool website, and I hope to make a few friends while on here.
So hi! :)

Thanks for the brownie, Mae! lol
Yes, I write fantasy, about another world(and possibly time travel by magic) where there are Mist Faeries that can disappear into mist, and a castle lies in ruin.
AWWWW kittens!!! That must be very fun being surrounded by them.
Thanks Manda! I'm not the best poet, but I've been working on poems for riddles in my books.

Hello, Emilyn. I know we already said hi through PM, but hi again! Welcome to Holy Worlds.

It would be lovely to hear some of your poems! (I adore faeries also!)

I was homeschooled too. :)

I used to like climbing trees, but I don't do that anymore really. :D

Do you like reading as well? What books do you enjoy?

Post subject:  Re: Hallo, I'm new

Hi again Lady Elanor!
I like classics like Peter Pan and the Secret Garden and A Little Princess, but I also love the Lord of the Rings movies(I'm in the process of reading the books). I was drawn into fantasy four years ago when my sister(who is four years older than me and now in college) began reading a Christian fantasy series called the Door Within. She was so so excited about it, she pre-ordered the second book and jumped around screaming when it finally came in the mail. I walked out to the dining room to ask her calmly what the big deal was. If this series was that good, I'd just have to read it. And so I read the first book and loved it and ever since, I've been waiting expectantly for them to make the books into movies. I'm still waiting, sadly. lol
I also like Jeffrey Overstreet's book Auralia's Colors, and children's books like the Boxcar Children and books by Nancy Rue. Children's books, to me at least, will never grow old. I also like the book series Sisters in Time, which is Christian Historical fiction.

I have watched all the films for Peter Pan, Little Princess and The Secret Garden, but I have never read the books. I do not read as much as I used to, however I have been reading a little more recently. I love LOTR, I read the books first and watched the films later. I have never heard of the Door Within series. Who are they by? I believe we have a thread for Auralia's Colors in Reviews. I really like Historical Fiction, although most of what I read of them are not by Christian authors. Do you like the Narnia books and films? It has been a while since I read them, but I like seeing them come out on films as I enjoyed the books so much.

Welcome!
Feel free to post an excerpt from your book over at the Fireside(http://www.holyworlds.org/fantasy/viewforum.php?f=19).
We like reading people's stuff :)

I've read the Door Within too. I wasn't as big a fan as other people I know, probably would like it more if I reread it.

*Blows boatswain whistle announcing the arrival of Emilyn* *Salutes* :salute: Welcome aboard Holy Worlds, mate!

That is so awesome that you feel like you live in Ireland. I might be part Irish, but we're not certain. :P

That is so cool that you've already finished your first draft of your story! I started writing a fantasy story, but decided to put it on hold. Instead, as soon as the Historical Fiction section comes out, I have two ideas for stories I really want to write on there.

If you ever need anything or want to ask any questions, feel free to PM me! I'd love to help you out. Also, if you want to take a look, I have a thread further down in the Q&A section of the forum for new members. It has ideas on how to get more involved in the forum, and explains some confusing processes we have on here.

Once again, welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay here!

*sprinkles gold, pink, and silver glitter throughout the thread* Welcome, dear! I am so glad you decided to join the forum! I see that some of the loyal members of my glitter army have already welcomed you, so I only have one thing to do: *gives edible-glitter covered peppermints to Emilyn* I hope you enjoy these! Even peppermint-detesters love these!

Welcome, once again! *leaves a trail of pink glitter after her as she leaves*

Thank you Captain Nemo! :salute: lol I'm almost done with my first draft. I think. Well then I remember another plot that has to go in there because it explains things and stuff lol I'm not sure if I'm over half way through or not. But I'm trying to finish the first draft by this Christmas.

Thanks for the edible glittered colored peppermints, Glitter Spreader! Ooh, can they make me fly? :D

By the way, how do you change the glitter that's flying all around to snow? lol

Hallo to you, too, Em! *loves the name Emily and all variations thereof* I love Ireland! Apparently I've got mostly Irish blood. Never been there, though. Our illustrious founder, referred to as Sir Emeth/Jay Lauser/Lord of the Universe (all in fun, yes  ), lives in Cork, Ireland. So we've got some Irish themes running through the forum, too :D  .

Anyway, have some glitter! Have some more! *tosses extra dark blue glitter around. Glittering colors of dawn flitter around* M'name's Even/Estar/Evenstar/Star/Dawn, in case you're wondering :D . *curtseys*

And, my goodness, you're quite the prolific writer! I must say I've been writing for years, but never got anywhere near completing a draft! Congrats!!

No, the peppermints don't make you fly... They are the best peppermints ever! Even those who despise peppermints love these. :D

lol, yes you may!

I have like two black cats and the cutest little grey-striped kitten(we named him Jacob Lock Winslow, but my mom started calling him 'Little Guy' and it sort of stuck, but he's getting bigger! no!), but they're all strays. They stick around our back patio and we feed them and I make them little beds for in the winter.

Thank you for all this pretty glitter! *sprinkles it all around herself* A little silver and green glitter and this would be complete!

Welcome! It's good to have you.
I read the first one and a half Door Within books. They're very good. Once I'm finished with the series I'm reading, I'll probably go back and finish up. I have lots of books to read. :book: Boxcar children were great books too.
This is my first chance to use my new pink glitter arrows in an intro thread! Seeing as there's already glitter, nobody will mind.
*begins shooting pink exploding arrows at the roof while she talks*
*glitter rains down on the occupants*
*steals peppermint - required rations for Glitter Soldiers* At least, they should be. They're amazing. I wonder if a humble glitter warrior could live off these. What do you think, oh Commander?
Have... *searches for latest supply of goodies* ah! Have some chocolate trifle. Nice to meet you!

I'm sorry for not welcoming you sooner, I was taking a break from the internet. :D

I like cats too! I have 8 of them. (Only one in indoor.) Most people on the forum know that. ;) The indoor cat, Midnight, is so adorable. I just love him to pieces. ^3^
