Post subject:  A Day for the Ringsmith

Once upon a time, in the days before the Ringsmith, Sir Emeth ruled the mighty kingdom of Holy Worlds alone. It was a big kingdom, and there was a lot of upkeep that had to be taken care of, but he was a busy ruler with other kingdoms, and increasingly often he had to turn his attention to law and judgement rather than dried up wells and crumbling walls. He surrounded himself with Councilors and Marcher Lords but none had the skills and knowledge to tend to the upkeep of the kingdom's technical aspects.

One day a wandering artist arrived in the Courtyard. Setting up his canvas and paint he delighted the citizens with his marvelous art. So great was his skill that word was carried to Sir Emeth and the Council and they came together to see for themselves. They, too, were delighted, but Emeth more than the rest put together. Soon he and the traveler were engaged in avid conversation, and the artist abandoned his work to walk with the great king.

The plans they laid were glorious. The traveler had visions of beauty and splendour and the skill to bring them to pass. His talent lay beyond mere artistry on canvas, and went into the architecture that the kingdom relied so heavily on. He stepped out of the courtyard into the mysterious "Outside" and for a time none knew whence he had gone, or what he did. Only Sir Emeth watched, and helped, and they worked together until their masterpiece was ready.

Citizens and nobles alike knew something was afoot, but they never guessed what was coming. The first glimpse they had of the work that was being done were the rings; beautiful rings of different colors, a color for each rank in the kingdom. These rings carried authority and power and it was from them that the wanderer took his name. Ringsmith, he came to be known, and the kingdom held their breath; waiting.

However, nothing could prepare them for the things that came afterwards. One after another the results of the Ringsmith's work became a part of the kingdom. A homepage, a chat room, new servers and things so marvelous they were beyond comprehension. The most glorious of his creations was a gift to the artists of the Courtyard. Stunning in its complexity the Arts Guild became a part of Holy Worlds, a tribute to the artistry that had first brought the Ringsmith to their court.

At last Sir Emeth could stop worrying about the state of his kingdom. A new order grew up around his trusted Ringsmith, the ones who worked in the dark Outside, unseen, but always ready. Stones were polished, and new paint went up everywhere. Once happy, the kingdom of Holy Worlds had become beautiful as well.

Patient, hardworking, and dedicated the Ringsmith has provided us with so many things that might have never happened, or would still be in the dream stages had we been left to ourselves. This is the glorious day of his Golden Birthday, and it is the delight of King and Council to honor him. May we never forget the services he renders.

Well... I know I'm late! But I'd like to wish you a happy birthday/night :)

I don't know if you realize how much I look up to you and your skills, but I do! You're always encouraging me to push myself with art (mainly because I know you'll give a strong critique if I ask) and I deeply value your opinion.

*salutes*

Be brave "young" Dykae! And push yourself to further heights so the world may marvel at the glory you give to God.

:shock: :o I can't believe I'm two days late!!! :(

Oh Dieki was geeky, or so it's been said;
Computer codes rumbl'ing around in his head.

Oh Dieki was geeky, or so I've been told.
He never let Holy Worlds features grow old.

Oh Dieki was geeky, 'tis said oft enough;
I'd say it myself, believed I that stuff!

Sorry, just couldn't resist. ;) :dieshappy: Happy birthday, you talented programmer, you!
