Hello, Winters!

Welcome to Holy Worlds!

So, who is your favourite fantasy author?

Do you write a lot of fantasy?

What is your favourite genre?

Thank you Lady Elanor!

My favorite fantasy author...does Frank Peretti count, for The Oath? Narnia is really, really good.

Actually, I don't write at all, just read.

My favorite genre...? Fantasy or speculative fiction.

Hi Winters! I'm Kat. Hope you make yourself right at home in Holy Worlds. As being one of the few slightly sane people here, I feel obligated to warn you: making a "I'm New" thread opens a can of worms. Which is why it's encourage. Just watch out for penguins and sentient flying daggers and nano-glitter (or is the nano-glitter only on the science fiction side of HW?).

A reader, eh? May I recommend this area of the forum, then? viewforum.php?f=19 The Watchtower is probably another area you'd enjoy. viewforum.php?f=20

Was it a writer friend who convinced you to join? ;)

Thank you! I'll be sure to keep watch...

I'll check those out, thanks!

It was a writer friend, actually. I don't know her name on here, though, and it's probably not her real one.

Nano glitter? I don't know what that is, but I'll bring out my glitter machines! *grabs glitter machine and shoots green, blue, red, and yellow glitter everywhere*

I love Frank Peretti! He certainly does count. Yep, Narnia is good too. Do you like Lord of the Rings?

I like Historical fiction and Fantasy as my favourites.

Reading, I love to read! Although I haven't done as much lately as I used to.

@AzlynMae: Thanks! *shakes hand*

@Lady Elanor: Great! Yes, I've both read and loved the LotR trilogy, and I should read The Hobbit soon, before the movies come out.

@KathrineROID: Yes, probably.

It's glitter that's actually nanobots. But I think it's only on HWSF. Perhaps HWFF's glitter is. . . ticklish? (I'd've said magical, but that would have been lame. ;) )

Ok, We have General Discussion, which is where we really chat about Non writing, general topics.

Then we have The Forge, where we talk about our story plots, characters and so on.

Village Lore is where we share writing tips and helps.

The Watchtower is where you can post reviews, read reviews etc.

The Fireside is where you can share your writing, you can read other peoples stories there and offer critiques.

Theology is where we discuss spiritual lessons and morals.

Realms Beyond is a place where you can be lost and explore other members' fantasy worlds

Q&A is where you can ask forum related questions about bugs and so on and you can also make suggestions there.

Announcements are important so be sure to read them. :)

Is there anything else you'd like to know about? Those are just a few general rooms.

What's this? What's this? A new member? Marvelous, ol' chap, marvelous! Good to have you with us. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun. We're more fun than tea in crumpets in the afternoon with a side of pickles!

Well, chap, the best thing would be for you to just take a long around, get your bearings, wot? As, I'm not sure how exactly one would take a fellow mate on a tour here...

Cheerio, tallyho, sally forth, all that good stuff! Godspeed!
EDIT: And it appears my good friend Miss Stephanie has already arranged a little tour! Splendid! Enjoy yourself!
God bless,
Crushmaster.

Welcome!
*wonders what Crushmaster has been reading*
@Kat: the glitter is edible, I'm pretty sure. Which is good, because it's about to get all over the cookies I brought.
Again, Winter (may we call you Winter?), welcome to HolyWorlds! Have a cookie while we wait for the cupcake person to get here, and have fun exploring!

Welcome to Holy Worlds!

I'm not sure if I'll be able to resist calling someone by the name of Gentle. :D How did that come to be for you? I love it. ^^

I hope you are finding your way around easily. Elanor and Crushmaster are very good at tour guiding for sure. If you have any questions just ask away. We're all happy to oblige you. :salute:

It's late here so I better get some sleep, but I look forward to seeing you around! Maybe we can infect you with the writing bug here. ;)

It is quite the bug. I didn't write fantasy when I joined, but now, I just finished making my map for a fantasy world, as well as working on developing my story. :D

Thanks to all of you! Who knows, I might start writing? I've tried before, but haven't the knack it seems.

@Calenmiriel: The Hebrew translation of my name actually means "Gentle" but I also reflect that characteristic. I am usually withdrawn in new places, but once I get to know a person, I open up more.

We certainly don't expect you to churn out a novel anytime soon, but writing random book scenes and ideas are a start. ^^

(You can call me Calen if it's easier. Many do.) ;)

That's really neat. Can I call you Gentle then? I really love the idea of calling someone that. :D

You sounds like me personality-wise. But recently I've been trying to break out of my comfort zone. Last week I went to a college age youth group and was able to jump right into the Bible study. Yay improvement!

Hopefully it's easier enough to mesh in with all of us on HW. (I'd be concerned if it was.)

Hey there, Winters! I love your name!! Makes me want to cuddle up with hot cocoa... Welcome to Holy Worlds!! Whether writer or reader or anything between, I can guarantee that you'll find some thread somewhere that can a) answer your deep questions, b) bring inspiration, and c) challenge your theology and faith. And if you don't find one...well, make it, of course!

I'm Evenstar (as you may have noticed), but I also go by Dawn, Estar, Star, Even...et cetera. It's a pleasure to meet you!! *sprinkles more glitter around thread*

So Winter, how are you liking Holy Worlds so far?

And I do agree with Airi, your name does make me want to curl up with Hot chocolate and a book! And it just so happens I'm drinking hot chocolate right now! *passes a cup of hot chocolate to Winter* But I guess I'll have to curl up with a laptop instead if I want to stay connected to Hw! ;)

The Rainbow in the Storm- My Blog

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.
