Hi, I'm Kelcin/Kel(as the chat-roomer's dubbed me) By a ironic twist, the nickname the chat-roomers gave me(Kel) is the Gou'ald of Stargates word for 'Hi' I love Stargate, Star Trek, Percy Jackson, etc. I haven't read much fantasy lately, besides Percy Jackson and a bit of the first Wheel of Time book. Oh, and I have a proof copy of Dragon Forge, part of the Draconic Prophecies trilogy by James Wyatt(a D&D book). I enjoyed that book, mostly for the characters, favorite being Ainn(I like his search for identity/a god) and his group he leads into the Demonwastes. I'd love to read more fantasy, but it's hard for me to find good books to read. So PLEASE suggest some This looks like a great forum so far Some of you might know me from ether of the Kingdom Series fan forums. |

*GASP* First reply!!! Better type it quick before someone gets ahead of me! Welcome to Holy Worlds, Kel! I've never seen Stargate, but I watched the new Star Trek movie recently and loved it! I've also only ever seen the Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief movie. (Haven't read the books, but I hear they're pretty good.) The Watchtower has many good book suggestions in it. ^^ ~Calen |

Welcome to HW, Kel! So, do you write fantasy as well? I confess I had never written fantasy until I joined here. |

The Wheel of Time books are excellent. I've read up to the eighth one, but it's been so long I need to start over. Percy Jackson was a great series. The movie wasn't very good. If you're looking for more good fantasy, try the rest of Rick Riorden's books. He's started a series called the Kane Chronicles about egyptian mythology. He also strated a new Camp Half-Blood series. the first one's called The Lost Hero. Welcome here. Levant says welcome too. He's my dragon, but he's a bit shy, even if he can talk, thanks to Lady Artemis' cheeseburgers. *Levant waves, then hides behind my legs again* See you around! |

Welcome to HW, Kelcin! The Watchtower is a wonderful place to start searching for good fantasy. Personally, I suggest any of Bryan Davis's works. They are awesome. Another place to look is the Fireside. We aren't published (yet!!!), but there is some great reading in there. |

Yay! Another SG fan. * showers you in glitter * Which series/movie is your favorite? For fantasy books I suggest Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Auralia Thread, for starters. |

Well, howdy! It's great to have you! If you check out the Fireside as other people have suggested, there is a subforum for "Published Works." You can browse there to find links to published material by our members! |

Thanks for all the welcoming/cupcakes! Lady Elanor wrote: So, do you write fantasy as well? Only a little bit. I haven't really written much yet. Though I had an idea for an entire epic fantasy series from a couple years ago. I wrote the first page of it a couple years ago. Not sure if it will ever go beyond that. I've read The Lost Hero and The Titan's Curse. The movie was my first encounter with the series. I agree, not as good as the books. Amanda Kondrael wrote: Which series/movie is your favorite? Nope, not yet. My favorite series... Atlantis. But SG-1 isn't far behind. And I like Universe too, though it's not family friendly enough to watch with my little siblings, who love SG-1 and Atlantis |

Dieki's favorite series is Atlantis too. |

Welcome, Kelcin! Mmm... on fantasy book ideas, I can't think of anything right now but the Narnia Series. Have you read it? I've read all the Percy Jacksons and agree that they are better than the movie, but I still like it though. |

Elmirza Dragon Rider wrote: I loved all the books I've read by Bryan Davis, and I also like Ted Dekker. I've read some of Ted Dekker's The Lost Books. I quit reading after a few, they just aren't my kind of book, a little too rough/violent. Lady Elizabeth wrote: Have you read it?(Narnia) Yeah, I read them all once. The Percy Jackson movie good, but by making the characters older then they are, they've lost their ability to stay very close to the books if they make more movies. So I don't expect a sequel. Amanda Kondrael wrote: Who's your favorite character? Umm... They are all so lovable, it's hard to choose. But I think I'm going with Sheppard, with Rodney as a close second. |

If you need fantasy to read, I would suggest the Blood Of Kings Trilogy By Jill Williamson. Book 1 is called By Darkness Hid I believe, and I really loved reading it. The second is To Darkness Fled and I liked that one even more. Once again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy Holy Worlds! |

Girl, you need to join the sci-fi side of things. Welcome welcome! *pulls up a chair for you * Come, sit. Make yourself cozy. Tell me all about your life, your plans, your hopes, your dreams- okay, if that is too invasive I suppose I could just settle for hearing all about your ideas on your epic fantasy series. |

Nice to meet to Shawn/Airianna the Interrogator. I actuly started writing a summary of my plot for you guys, but it's longer then I thought, plus I have to make up some of the details, since I can't remember them. I do have a map of the entire world of the story... So I might make a separate post for it later. |

Sorry for my slightly belated reply, Kel! However, that said... WELCOME TO HOLY WORLDS!!!!! You'll find us rather...hm...crazy, but all in a sane healthy spirit of fantasy authors Ah, Star Trek!! I haven't seen many of the originals, but I must say I love their theme music. Listen to it way too much! And I also enjoy their new movie. Brilliant effects Anyway, enjoy the forum!! |
