I noticed that an announcement topic was getting off topic with a similar discussion; so to prevent that I thought, let's start up a thread about it! Plus it will be fun. :dieshappy:

So, how do you pronounce your username? :)

Ah! I have been pronouncing Varon's name correctly all along! :D

I pronounce mine Elly (ell-ee) of Zoriah (zore-eye-ah). I say Zoriah a little quickly.

I used to pronounce mine Sue-e-au-thon (au as in author and thon as in marathon) but I found out recently that I've been pronouncing it wrong. :P

It is correctly pronounced Sue-e-ow-thon (thon same as above).

Most people pronounce my name Beth-Ann-ee Fa-A-th

But some people call me Bethany Fay...I think it depends on the person. I say it either way, though. So there's no right or wrong. :rofl:

Yours is one of those names I only read and never bother pronouncing. ;)

Mine's the normal Katherine, despite the lack of middle e in my alternate spelling. Roid is droid minus the d.

Sui's name is pronounced very wrong in my head, and when I take time to look at the spelling, I know it. :P My mind says; Sue - author- on. :rofl:

@Amanda: You may want to show the pronunciation as "Kon-dray-el" or "Kon-drae-el" to prevent confusion. ;)

Mine is pronounced "Kah-lehn-meer-ee-el". I sometimes slip into calling myself "Kal-en-meer-ee-el"/"Kel-en" though. :P

I pronounce mine: Vee-Lee-See *nods* Simple, but I've found many people who pronounce it just a bit differently than I do ;)

It's Air-oo-wye-thee-ell. You said it with a soft 'th', but in 'thee' that would be a hard 'th'.

Mmm. Fun thing is, I actually probably pronounce it wrong meself.
The English spelling is "Roundelay," and I snatched it from the folk-song "Just As the Tide Was Flowing" back in 1996 or '97. Yes, I have been on the internet that long, and yes, I have been using that screen name the whole time. And aside from the gal on AOL Instant Messenger who snagged the English spelling first, I am the only one. I digress.

ROWn-delay, where "row" rhymes with "now."
I realize that the "Ro" nickname is a bit misleading as far as pronunciation goes, but if I don't encourage it people online invariably call me "Round." Which, considering that I could kindly be described as 'plump,' hits a little too close to home. ~_^

I pronounce Elmirza's- El-MUR-zuh instead of El-MEAR-zuh. My southern accent doesn't help matters. :roll:

Mine is rather simple too. :D Boosh-Mayd. However I found out a while ago that my name makes little sense to people. "Why do you name yourself after a bush?" o.O However in Australia, "bush" is the term given to our forests. So the American/English version of my name would be ForestMaid. :)

I pronounced Elmirza's name the same, Elly. :blush:

I normally say eh-ROO-heh-rahn or eh-roo-HAIR-ahn if I speak quickly.

I couldn't pronounce Emeth's username right until I listened to the podcast and heard how he said it. It sounds a little bit different with my accent. :P

Mine's Melody as in Melody Pond (MEHL-oh-dee) and Kondrael as in Amanda Kondrael (KAWN-dray-ehl) (Or, KON-dray-el. It's the short o sound.)

I need to learn IPA from theladyem so I can spell it out right. :D
