Sanctuary was built on a Island, right off the coast of the Moor lands. It is a fortification and the people of it have very little to do with the outside world. It was built by a disgrace Lord who ran away, who ran away from his troubles with a few people to build a colony. The duke on previous adventure had found a mine of rare sunstone and it was his planes to mine the stones and become rich. But for many years his plan of a great city was set back by the constant attacks from human sized rats and lizard men.
But now at the time that my story takes place the city is a very safe rich place with an economy based mostly on the sunstones. There is a lot of land with the city so there are many small scale farms, and since they are by the sea there is also a lot of fishing. The Lord’s family became a monarchy and the main character is the Princess of the city. The City, since it is on an Island, has no contact with the land around it but trade a lot for grain from courtiers that are far away.
People now do not really believe in the stories of Rat men or Lizard men, but they have been growing quietly on the mainland and now they are about to break lose.

Very nice, I like the idea. There seems to be a lot of potential in it.
