Hey, guys! White Raven's beautiful avatars inspired me to make my own..... something. I played around with photoshop and came up with this.

Because it is my first, it is still quite rough. My dad wants me to remake it. Here are some things though, that my dad suggested I change: 1) make the bird's silhouette backround black, 2) preferably get rid of the bird's silhouette, 3) (this was my idea, but he wants to see it) is make the silhouette background black and make the bird in the air a fire bird. The idea is that it came out of the fire. I was trying to put that across with the way I did it, but my dad said he didn't make the connection.

What do ya'll think? Any suggestions, tips, ideas? I am open to criticism, it will help me in the long run! Thanks guys!

I like it a lot, maybe you could change the bird in the fire just a tad. I'm suprised that this is your first one :o The guy with the sword could be a little faded with the background a tiny bit. It is overall a great avatar!

I agree, it it really cool. Here are some ideas on how to improve it.

There were strange bumps on the guy's hands, probably from a background that wasn't faded enough. It just looked kind of odd.

The flame needs to have a more smooth transition from the sword.

The bird in the fire needs to be black with no border.

If you do those things, we might be able to give you some more feedback. Good job!
