WAAIT!!!! Don't get your hopes up too high yet... This is still in the idea process... we don't even have a host yet, although eruheran and I are pretty good candidates.

Anyways, right now this will not realistically happen...but hey, we can try! First off we'd need to find out who and how many people could attend based on location...so I'll start spurting out some places that may be in range for a HW convention for us, and if you can realistically come to one of them say so.

Better yet, I'll make a poll...

If you'd like to request another city in the South East please say so...

Probably won't be happening. ;)

Anyway. . . how about Jacksonville? Or Gainesville? If not, Atlanta might work.

Hmm...interesting bump there on the graph. :D Jacksonville is too far south for us, so Gainsville is too, likely. Atlanta is on the poll, so vote on that one. :D

The only ones I could make are the ones in NC... I might be able to beg and plea for the ones in TN and MAYBE the ones in GA...buuuut...it's highly unlikely. :P

I could make it if it was anywhere in TN preferably Chattanooga.

I could probably go to Anderson, Toccoa, Colombia, Charlotte, or Atlanta. The others are slim possibilities except for Augusta. I might be able to co-host with someone but I couldn't take the responsibility myself.

Yeah... Atlanta might not be the best in terms of traffic. As far as I've seen they're pretty busy in there.

I will almost definitely be in Atlanta the weekend before Thanksgiving for the National Missionary Convention, if any Georgians want to try and congregate then. We're usually there three days.

Toccoa is in 2nd. o.0

Let's hypothetically say the weekend before Thanksgiving in Atlanta. Who can come then? We would need someone who can host, and figure out an exact location. There are two state parks near Atlanta, Sweetwater Creek state park, and Panola Mountain state park. If you live near Atlanta and have been to one of those, please let us know if the experience is pleasurable. ;)

Who can attend that hypothetical convention?

Of the places you gave, Atlanta is the only one I might be able to make. Jacksonville would amazing... ;) Or even Savannah.

I have no idea on dates, though. I'd have to talk to my parents about it before giving dates.

If we do have one, we could probably work out some carpooling. I know there are a ton of people in Florida; would anyone be willing to carpool and split gas costs?

Post subject:  Re: Convention in the South East

Let's not peg Atlanta just yet, Elanhil. I was talking with Mom about the convention and she had some great ideas. :D

Since this is a two-day thing, a lot of people would have problems finding lodging or would have to get a hotel room. (hotel room = not cheap)
Instead of having the convention in Atlanta we could have it in a combination of three places- Atlanta, Mt. Airy, and Toccoa.
(To the people that don't know where these places are: Don't worry, Mt. Airy and Toccoa are very close to Atlanta)

First the HW'ers that come from Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina meet the Toccoa HW'ers in Toccoa (since it's closer to them).
From there we can carpool to Atlanta and meet the HW'ers from Florida, Alabama, and Seer. We could have the convention there till supper time upon which we would get back in the cars and drive to Toccoa or my (and the E-brother's) church in Mt. Airy. We would eat either at the E brother's house, my house, or the church. And have the convention there till bed time at which we would drive to the church in Mt. Airy to sleep there (if we weren't already there).

The second day of the convention would probably be in some place in Toccoa (there are a few awesome places :D ) til people have to leave for there respective homes.

Food would be covered by Elanhil's family/my family or at a restaurant and we would be the hosts.

Would that work for everyone? :D

(Note: The E brother's and I will have to ask for permission to use the church but it is very likely that permission would be granted.)

Post subject:  Re: Convention in the South East

Well, be warned: Toccoa isn't SUPER close to Atlanta...a couple hours north, but that sounds like a good plan, Sui. Your parents and my parents could sort of Chaperone, for lack of a better word. Some people may have issues with being in the same building with members of the opposite gender at night... but if that's so, the guys could head out to the Rock and be in a separate building...if we do decide to bed down at all... ;)

There's plenty to do in Atlanta; we could find some sort of meet-up place and then just sort of follow our noses from there...maybe go skating or something. XD Dad should be back from tour by then, so we should have the van. And if we need any extra space, we can borrow Mr. Adams truck and fit two more people anyway.

I'm thinking for dinner we could all chip in and get Little Ceasar's. Pretty much a 'pay for what you eat' deal.

The only catch is what days....if we started on Friday and went to Saturday, there'd be no problem. But if going down to Atlanta would only be do-able on Saturday, we'd need to change the schedule so we're not all at the church Sunday morning. :)
