Hi, everyone, I'm Kayla_elfmaiden. If you are on Narniaweb or Sable Tears or Narniaweb's suddenlaunch writer's forum you may recognize me. I have a rather terrible habit of joining a forum and then really be into it for awhile, but then eventually go on every once in awhile and just read threads but not post. So I will try my hardest to put some effort into being around. :D

I love to write. I'm always writing something. Unfortunately, out of all the stories I have started, I think I've only finished one.... and it was a short story at that. :P But I am really trying to put some effort into finishing my stories.

I have been working on a fantasy series since I was fifteen. It has gone through many changes over the years, but I think I am finally figuring out what kind of story it wants to be. I picked it up again last week and started writing from the beginning. However, now that the storyline is figured out, the characters have decided they don't want to cooperate. So I have to put the story on hold while I write short biographies on the characters so I know their personalities. It's a never-ending process.

Besides writing, I am also interested in filmmaking. I recently purchased a DSLR camera and can't wait for it to come so I can start filming some ideas.

Okay, I'm going to stop talking now. I have a tendancy to go on, and on, and on. I'm excited to meet everyone!

Second, welcome!!!

Love the name, by the way.

So, what brought you to us? Are you on CF, by any chance? (if not, pretend I said nothing, we do not want them to take you from us!!!!)

Kayla, what a gorgeous name you have! I love it! I want it! {I will probably use it for some obscure elf maiden in a yet-unthought work that is not yet in progress somewhere in the depths of opposite time}

Ok, yes, I'm in control now  . Welcome to Holy Worlds!!! You sound like you're in an excellent position to dive right into our humble community. I can't wait to see you around! *sprinkles dark blue glitter in snowflake patterns in honor of our members down under who are now experiencing the thick of winter*

So anyway, make yourself at home! My name's Dawn, Even, Estar, Star, Evenstar, or whatever you'd like {just so long as I actually know you're referring to me  }. And here, have some pie! *hands Kayla slice of fresh-baked steaming hot juicy sweet apple pie with ice cream on the side*

I am on CF, actually, though I haven't posted in a LONG time. I hide in the darkness and peruse threads. I was reading the writer's challenge thread a couple days ago, and they kept talking about Holy Worlds, so I decided to come check it out. :D

Thank you for the greetings, everyone!

I do like animals. I have a cat named Caspian (When he was a kitten, we were told he was a she, so he was given the name Cassie. He had to be taken to the vet once for some injuries he got after being attacked by a coyote, and the vet told us he was actually a male, so I had to come up with a male name that was close to Cassie, and Caspian was the result.)

I also like horses and dragons.

Poor Caspian. I hope he didn't get a complex being called Cassie. ;)

*blows boatswain whistle announcing the arrival of Kayla_elfmaiden* *Salutes* Welcome aboard Holy Worlds, mate! :D

Narnia fan! Woot! You will find there are plenty of those here, including me. :D Although I have never read all of the Narnia books, I enjoy the movies and absolutely love the Focus on the Family radio theatre productions of them.

Don't worry about needing motivation for your stories. I'm sure you will get plenty. As for stubborn characters, try joining a character development thread or creating your own. The threads I'm on in that area are Two Worlds and Five new Characters, Meet Victoria and Julliana, and Trying to develop my main character! Eeek! Other threads on there are very helpful as well. And, don't feel that it is necessary to read all of the posts in the threads, because they can get quite lengthy. Also, don't be afraid to just jump right in and introduce your characters or to create your own thread. :D

Another helpful thread for character development is Step-by-step Character Fractalling where I am taking the enormous Character Fractalling process steps and using them one by one to make it a little more manageable. It's still just on the *cough* first step, so if you want to put one or more of your characters in there, feel free to do so! From what I've heard, this process is amazing at developing your characters, even if you only go through part of it.

Finally, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. We also have a thread for new members in the Q&A forum at the top. Feel free to take a look around there and ask questions there, too.

Once again: Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay here. :D

Another filmmaker! Oh! Oh! I'm Aubrey Hansen from CF - the crazy writer who runs the challenge thread and goes around haggling people to write. I'm just as annoying over here as I am over there, so don't think you've escaped me. :D You should really post more on CF! We'd love to have you on the challenge thread!

At any rate, welcome! I am very happy our chatter encouraged you to join over here. :D Have a cupcake and make yourself at home! I think we can help you finish your stories. ;)

Oh, please, Airianna, do NOT get into that subject with Jonathan! You will get NOWHERE and this thread will never end!

Maybe? That is weak enough for me to say authoritatively that no misguidance is occurring. ;)

Well, you're not annoying here, so that is the same as admitting that you're not annoying there, since you said you're the same in both places. ;)

Welcome, Kayla, to Holy Worlds!

Heeey! You sounds just like me! Although, I've finished two short stories instead of one. Three if you count the one I wrote when I was 14...it needs LOTS of work though.

Ah haha... actually, because the CF atmosphere is different, my role over there is different. I think I'm decidedly MORE annoying over there. I'm the obnoxious screenwriter that posts a ton and makes people do stuff. :)

But, since you're not on CF, you can't argue either way, Jonathan, so we shan't derail the lady's thread on this. ;)

I know exactly what you mean! When I first got my pet rabbit, the people at the pet store thought he was a girl. So I named him Buttons, which was suiting cause it was brown and very cute. Then I found out she was really a he after having him for about 3 months. Now his name is Bobby ;)

And welcome! I am pretty sure you will like it here!
