Well obviously I'm new here, so I'll just introduce myself and tell you all a little about me. As you can see, I'm SilvieOfSouthern and anybody who's ever read Ted Dekker's the Lost Books will know the reference I'm making with the username :) Yes, I am a huge Dekkie.
A little more about me: I love Jesus with everything I've got, and I'm at the best church on the face of the planet, period. I'm a homeschooling, reptile loving, softball player who will randomly quote the latest thing that made me laugh and will one day live high above the Costa Rican rainforest in a treehouse I built myself. I love Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, all the social media stuff. Probably a little too much...anyway, that's about it, so...yeah. :)

P.S. I'm also a crazy Rays fan :)

I like you very much already! And I'd like to see a picture of that treehouse, once it's built. ;)

Welcome, Sylvie! It's good to have you here. :D Would you like some punch? *five glittery penguins slide in, carefully balancing a punch bowl and cups*

*grins* We have a tree house and tire swing, but we don't live in the jungle... Although it's crazy enough around our house. ;) You'll find there are quite a few homeschoolers on here, and some others. :D

Oh yes, I'm open to be asked any questions as well. :D Feel free!

Welcome, Silvi!!! I don’t know the reference, but I love the name.

So, do you write in a similar style as Dekker? (loved Black, Red, White, and Blink)

You know, you should post in our homeschool thread. :D *goes to call on Link Elf Lizzie *

I hope you enjoy it around here. There is lots to read. :D *tossed glitter *

Sorry I took so long to reply! @Airianna no actually I don't...I wish I could though! I tend to write more realistic fiction but I'm on HW to just see what other writers are up to :)

Greetings and welcome, Silvie! Beautiful name, by the by {reference or no reference - I haven't read Dekker's books}. You've already been amply welcomed by our efficient welcoming personnel, of course, but let me extend a hand in greeting. *extends hand, then dumps a bucket of blue glitter on Sil when she's not looking* Yes! now you've been officially pranked and nicknamed and greeted and {I certainly hope by this time} thoroughly welcomed!

*cough, cough* The name is Dawn, Even, Estar, Evenstar, Star, or any other conglomeration of those names, by the way! And my pen name is Sienna {as you can see in my blog :D } So you have your pick of what to call me

Oh, and would you like some more refreshments? *brushes glitter off Sil and serves her hot plate full of apple pie and ice cream*

*a sudden mysterious voice pops out of the hazy glitterful air* Write fantasy!! *mysterious voice pops back out*

@Azlyn Mae: How long have you homeschooled?
@Tsahraf: I would love to be the Ted Dekker authority :D Serpents are my favorites too...in fact I have one in an aquarium behind me! And I don't really write fantasy, but I like seeing what other writers are up to and being in a writing community :)

Oh, don't say that. There are always possibilities with your stories and ideas, you never know where they may take you.

I just had an image of a gigantic aquarium filled with the dark folds of a great Sea Serpent's body.

I hope this is not the case?

Aeleknight's right - never say never on fantasy, because we'll do our best to change your mind! Okay, Aeleknight said it much more nicely than I did.

@Aele: I didn't say I wouldn't ever write fantasy - I'd like to give it a shot at some point, I'm just running a little low on ideas lately :(
@Tsharaf: Hahaha no not exactly...it's just a corn snake, nothing real exotic. She's very docile although not always well behaved ;)
@Philly: I've just never really tried it before, that's all, not that I wouldn't. I just haven't :)

I'm looking forward to having ideas again :dieshappy: I'm working on a story right now, but it's an intentionally cheesy mystery specifically requested by Jordan :)

Jordan... requested? It doesn't have anything to do with... youknowwho?. Does it? ;) :P

If by youknowwho you mean JB, no, thank goodness. A while back we were laughing at all our old stories and I showed her two mysteries that I thought were good when I wrote them but were horrendously cheesy. I'm writing a sequel for her :D

Of course if it is intentionally made to be cheese. Another factor is what type of cheese-Provolone, Bleu, Colby Jack, Swiss, Muenster, Cheese-wiz (Although it really does not count as cheese).

No, they were Iowa cheese curds. I'm sure Wisconsin cheese curds would be much better :)

There are good Iowa cheese curds, too... in Kalona. :D But they are very different from classic WI cheese curds. :D

That's where we got ours! The Cheese Factory in Kalona! My cousins used to live there and we went to visit them. It was really cool, since it's such a tiny town and there are so many Amish people nearby. We went to the grocery store and there was a horse and buggy in the parking lot :P
