I wish a good Independence day to all of us who are American. (and to non-Americans too.) Have lots of fun, and let off a few fireworks. And also try to remember what this day is celebrating. (All you non-Americans can let off a few fireworks for us too if you want. |

I'm going to let somebody who isn't afraid of fire exploding in the sky to set up the fireworks I just do well wishes. Happy fourth of July, everyone! And may God bless all the world, including America. |

Happy fourth of July! *sets off red white and blue walrus fire-works!* *sets off fireworks that explode too close to the ground and start a fire in a nearby tree* *puts out fire with waterhose* |

I can't wait until dark! And, if you have never read the Declaration of Independence in its entirety, I highly recommend that you do so. Out loud. It's fun. |

I've seen the Declaration of Independence in real life! We went to Philadelphia (not the cupcake kind) and saw it! |

Happy Independence Day to all present, even if you're not American. Fireworks were last night for us - singing and playing tag on a gravel road while watching fireworks light up the sky has got to be the most fun ever. |

Well I hope you all have a fun, blessed day. I haven't got any fireworks to let off for you, sadly; so I will just pretend. *Sends out some of Gandalf's special fireworks to make everyone go.... Enjoy your 4th of July! |

*Giggles and laughs* How come every time I come on HW, even if I'm feeling dreadfully tired, I always end up laughing. I didn't see the effect of Gandalf's fireworks as I sent them over to America for you, but I'm glad to hear they were very good. |

I saw only glimpses of the fireworks... nothing special today for me... Just a good lunch and nice movie to finish off the day. |

Lady Elanor wrote: *Sends out some of Gandalf's special fireworks to make everyone go.... Exactly! We're going out to watch fireworks now, but after that I'm going to come in and watch the fireworks from LotR. I've yet to see any real-life fireworks as cool as Gandalf's dragon. |

*happy sigh* I just got home from watching the fireworks. It was great; bursts of color going off all around the lake. |

The Bard wrote: Have lots of fun, and let off a few fireworks. And also try to remember what this day is celebrating. Thanks for this, Joe. I'm patriotically passionate, and love history, so Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays. It's a day of remembrance, a day of great value for every American. I recently visited Independence Hall, Congress Hall, The Liberty Bell, Statue of Liberty, and way too many other places to name in this post. I loved submersing myself in the history surrounding the Declaration of Independence, and the birth of our nation. May we never forget the history behind this day when we set off fireworks in celebration. @Namor: The Declaration of Independence is not in Philadelphia. It is in DC. The drafts (including the very cool edit ridden copies) are on display in Philadelphia, in the west wing of Independence hall. The ink stand used by the signers is also in display there. |

*raises hand slowly* I've seen the Declaration of Independence in DC... Namor had me confused; for a moment there I was thinking "Then what was it I saw in DC??...." haha... Anyways, I was too little; I can't remember much. |

Yeah sorry, I got them confused, we went to Philadelphia and saw Independence Hall where it was signed, and we went to DC in the national archives and saw the actual thing! |

I love the long s' in the document. The long s was still in use when the Declaration was signed. They add such a… such a regal look to the Declaration. |
