Is there a difference between Gryphon and Griffin? The only place I've ever seen "Gryphon" Is "Alice in wonderland" Most other places it's "Griffin" or "Griffon" |

I was trying to decide between the Kraken and the Gryphon, and chose the Kraken. All of the creatures in the list are not as developed in Iniel as one-eyed Giants, other sorts of Giants, limited Shapeshifters, Headless Men, Mermen, and others. |

Technically, the Leviathan is not a fantasy creature. But then, perhaps that is why I love it best. A creature with such fantastic and unfathomable power and strength that is completely realistic! It somewhat reminds me of so many aspects of God... No wonder it's my favorite. |

For myself, I prefer the spelling of gryphon, so that's what I use. I voted for gryphons, although I also like dragons and unicorns. (Funny...those are the three that exist on my primary world... |

Gryphon is supposed to be the creature and Griffin is a surname based off of it... they've become interchangeable now. Excuse me while I have a chat with C.S. Lewis about the usefulness of the English language... |

Dragons are not strictly Fantasy creatures, in the sense that there are real dragons, and they are Fantasy creatures, in the sense that there are made up dragons, and made up kinds of dragons. |

Dragons are fantasy creatures in that they are used in fantasy, and almost exclusively in fantasy. Just because they have basis in reality doesn't make them any less fantastical. |
