All right, I have a question. The need for the question stems from a non-writing related problem, but I am going to connect it to writing as well.

How do you use PayPal? How could I set up a site to sell books and accept payments through PayPal? Basically, is there anything online about how to use PayPal? The Basics, or something?

Thanks!

PayPal is very handy. There are fees, which can be a drawback for very large or very small amounts, but for a lot of everyday stuff the convenience is worth the cost. All you need is someone's email address (the one they have attached to their PayPal account) to send them money, whether from your PayPal balance, your bank account (if you have them linked), or your credit card. It works great for one-on-one jobs where the client needs to send you money directly, without going through a check-out service.

I use PayPal one-on-one and through Etsy. Etsy's check-out service is integrated with PayPal; I'm sure there are other check-out services that are available for people to put on their website.

Ah, I see. =) Is there a way to do small transactions without paying a fee? As in, if I want to donate money to HW or something?

Yes. If the transaction is personal (I think donations count, but I haven't checked recently), you check that when you send the money and there won't be a fee.

I see. Anyways, I was looking at PayPal's fees and they're all very reasonable, at least it seems that way to me. It's international things that start to get a little pricier.
