So, I've come up with another idea ( :o ) called the Photo Writer Alliance, discussed in depth (here). Essentially, writers from across the world take pictures of the world and post them on one location for others to use for their stories and/or covers.

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, but I don't know if this is something I should create a blog for or put as a sub-directory on my site. I set up a wordpress site, but it is limited to 3GB, and I'm not sure if that is enough for this idea.

Is this off topic based on my generic Subject line? (I've since made it more specific, did you notice? ;) )

Would it be easier to have each photographer have his/her own Wordpress site and list all of the Wordpress URLs on the main site? Or would that make it too confusing?

Does/should this project work in alliance with Olorea, Seer's photo sharing website for photo manip people? There's bound to be pics a plenty on there.

That is what I was imagining after seeing the space taken up by the different pages I've uploaded with pics. I could have a page for members to list their sites.

This would mean changing the name of my site to like photowritertim.wordpress.com or something like that. Or if this really isn't much space, I could have it be a subdirectory on my timothycward.com site timothycward.com/photowriter. I could even just do timothycward.com/photowriteralliance to list the different members, but would that be harder to advertise? Hey, check out my new website "Timothycward.com "slash" photowriteralliance". That's a mouthful. I could get one of the free domain hosters like we talked about such as weebly or google (can't remember if that is the right name for those, nor the exact name for the google one). But then that goes back to my question if I should have a website for photowriteralliance...

Ok, what if I do that, have a site for photowriteralliance, which has a link to all the participating websites, then I create a subdirectory on my website to link to from there?

I looked around for Olorea to see who was in charge and where it is, but couldn't find the location of the website. It might work in conjunction. Seer and I haven't spoken yet. I might be a branch off since it is a little different - his is for people, mine is places - but they are definitely similar in purpose.

Lastly, what do you all think of the name? Should it be Photo Writer or Writers Alliance?

Tim, there's a link down in the Arts Guild (sticky topic "Grab Your Cameras!") with info & link to Olorea.

One benefit to having a directory that links to all the participating sites is that it allows participants to host images in their own way. Some might prefer to load images to a web album or something. It also saves you the trouble of continually uploading new images. You just need to add links to the directory when a new photographer joins the brigade.

I'd go for Photo Writers Alliance.

I'd recommend the two work in tandem. That way they could work together to promote the photo site as a whole.

Although...this isn't the planning room :P Alas, I have no camera, so I will not be joining this one.
