Didn't see a thread like this yet, so punch me if there was one.

But what are people up to this summer? I'm still in school for two more weeks, but I know most people have been done for a bit. Anyone doing exciting stuff like sky-diving / elephant-riding / mission trips / cool jobs?

I'm going to be doing child-care and programming in North Dakota for a bit, then help build a house in Nebraska 'til school rolls around again. Kind of a slow-diggity summer, but I'm looking forward to some moolahs. Hahaha

I finish school next week. :dieshappy:

I'm going to church camp down in Tennessee, and 4H shooting camp to learn frontier skills for my Living History project.

If the summer goes 120% perfect, I'll get my SCUBA certification, but I'll probably take rock-climbing lessons instead.

Shooting camp?? Daaaang. What all will you be shooting with/at?

And SCUBA too? That would be the most intense, action-packed summer haha.

If you like that, you should check out this thread! :D

I'll be working as the Nature Director at a Cub Scout summer camp June 12th to August 6h or 7th. (It'll be my 5th summer being a staff member, and my 4th year being at Nature.) Not to fear, I hope to still be on Holy Worlds in the evenings. Our cabins have internet. :dieshappy:

I just won't be on as much. We work from 6:30-7:00 AM until 10:00 PM. Our weekend is Sunday around 4:00 PM until Monday night. (You have to be in camp by 10:00 PM.) I'll be working at my other part time job (the one I'm doing right now) on Monday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM...We'll see how it all works out. I'm slightly apprehensive, but both jobs really need me this summer. ><

Hm... this summer will be somewhat like the last two. I'm going to be continuing my job at a local photography studio (full time). I'm hoping to find something else to throw in there as a way or earning money for college, but we'll see. I've got a horse to work with and show during the summer and plenty of writing and projects to keep me busy here on HW

No big plans for the summer for me. It's next year that has the big scary/exciting plans. :D

This summer I'll be taking a class, writing, and working if I can find a job.

I'll be dogwalking, reading lots of books, prepping for Nano, probably writing a novel, modding on HWSF and editing on HWF, anticipating HWHF, riding my cousin's horse, read my friends' blogs that I never get a chance to, going swimming, and spending time with my pets and family. :D

Hmm, I hope to be busy dog grooming! :dieshappy: That's what I hope anyway. I love lots of barbeques in June/July with friends, in our garden (Dad does all the cooking.) ;) That is fun. Going to the beach, hopefully will do some long walks in the countryside with Pippin. Haven't got much else planned, but from the 13th I am on holiday for two weeks. Might go to the Lake District or might stay around at home and just chill.

This winter *cough* ;) I'll be getting myself a drivers license, finishing my business cert, taking over as a secretary *bites nails* and hoping to get more writing done.

I don't think I'll be doing any shooting, I'll be learning frontier skills for my living history project about an 1890s Texas Ranger.

The SCUBA turned out to be to expensive for this year, so I'll be taking a $25 rock climbing 101 class instead.

Haaaaa, yeah, it is a lot of work, but working on staff is fun. :D

I work in a Boy Scout office as a receptionist, cashier, envelope stuffer, labeler, and all around office girl. Some days when it's slow, I dust around the Trading Post, vacuum, or wash minimal dishes form my co-workers lunch hour. ^^ I've worked at the office for the past four years now.

I'm hoping to have a going away-graduation-birthday party before I leave for Ecuador. Then I plan on working my tail off and hanging out with my bible study groups for the rest of the summer.

This summer my main projects are moving and summer school. If I have time, I'll prowl around our new neighborhood and try to find a job. And if I have time after that, I may end up doing some painting and interior decorating. We may end up getting chickens, too. It depends on how hot it is and how unpacked we are by August. :D

Working on sewing clothing for college, writing a novel, I won four free martial arts classes last week so I should be able to do it then. :)
Starting my blog again? Lol I am not that busy but very busy at the same time. I hope to make some sort of music video with my camera. (Determining between an original song and something from one of my cd's.)

@Elly: Yes, indeed! God willing, I'll come out semi-sane at the end of this summer!

@Bushmaid: *hugs back* Honestly, it's hard to stay away some days. :D It's easy getting on here with my office job since my hours are the same every day.

Everyone sounds like they'll have eventful summers for the most part as well. ^^

My summer.... What summer?! I'll be moving around the US, going to a 3-week creative writing camp in Michigan, visiting grandparents, squeezing in some school whenever I can, tackling a long reading list, working on editing a manuscript for my mom, working on my blog http://siennanorth.blogspot.com/, keeping up with my friends from around the globe online, and spending as much time as possible with my friends-I-haven't-seen-in-two-and-a-half-years... I might throw in a few more things too just to keep me from being bored  .

Now I just need a D on HW and I'd have A, B, C,_, and E. Hehe!

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.
