Oh! It seems like it's been so long since we've had a promotion party! This is a most dandy occasion indeed that calls for extra cupcakes! And extra glitter. But I'm not in charge of glitter, so you'll have to talk to someone else about that.

Normally we don't call the purple people "ducklings" outside of the forum - I thought - but since Airianna started it... :roll: ;)

No one, and I mean no one, calls them ducklings except me!!! Well, and my HRM. They call themselves ducklings. The Mama duck and her ducklings are the only ones who call themselves as such!

Eek! less than 24 hours and two pages already? :shock:

Anyway, 'tis story time.
*finds a comfortable corner, eats some party goodies, and waits for an audience to arrive*

Oh, wait, this is a forum, and the audience is already here. Okay then, in that case...

Once upon a time, last fall, we had a great big even known as Fall cleaning. We promoted lots of people, instated greenies, redid room names, and all sorts of other busy cleaning things. You can find the records in the Citadel. It had been so long since we'd promoted anyone that we actually had a list, and promoted a new purple person every single week. (On Wednesdays, I believe.)

During all that the group leader of the HRM changed (or maybe was instated to begin with?). One day I looked up and realized a name must have been dropped off the list. I picked it back up, and thought nothing of it. Until I noticed the name still hadn't been promoted. So I poked it, looked at it, but didn't make too much fuss.

Until I noticed the name still hadn't been promoted. At which point I started repeating myself over and over like a musical box... "Lady Aris should be promoted! Lady Aris should be promoted!"

The Mama Duck patted me consolingly and said "Don't worry, she already has been." And some random other yellow person who participates in these kind of discussions said, "She was purple, but she must have changed her default group to regular."

Well, that was an interesting thought... after investigating we discovered that the name had fallen off the list... again! (We've got to get new magnets for those things! :shock: )

So finally Lady Aris got promoted, a good two or three months after we thought she had been. :rofl: It makes me happy for more reasons than one; every time I saw your name I would think that repetitive phrase, and now that it's purple I can feel comfortable again. Hehehe... the strangest things bug me.

So anyway! Congratulations, and I'm sorry we spoiled your surprise with our investigation, but then maybe you're glad of that. :D

Oh she pretended to be very surprised, for my benefit, Katie. It was very funny. When I sent her my "Welcome to the HRM Ranks" PM, she acted quite surprised and shocked. It was very funny. :D
