Is there any reason you chose your avatar?

I chose mine because it has the sort of warping through space effect, and I really like stars and stuff.

I don't have one because I like my user name to speak for me rather than my avatar. Avatars often affect people's first impressions of others.

I chose mine because I like it, and it matches my name (I think, anyway). Even though I am not generally a fan of pink....

I chose mine because:
a) nobody else was using it and I like to be different and
b) I like the color green, though I prefer pine green...

Jay, where did you get these graphics? I'm assuming that you and your siblings made them (is there nothing you Lausers can't do?) but correct me if I'm wrong.

I chose mine because I like bright colors (especially green ). And because no one else happened to be using it.

I chose mine originally because
1) No one else was using it
2) I liked the lights, and the only other one was yellow, which isn't my color
3) Something about it seemed to fit with "Elestar". At the time, I had just come up with the name and didn't have any background for it, and something about this struck me as right.

Yes, I now have an Avatar.

well, at first I chose it because no one was using it. But now at least four other people have it, so now I like it because it reminds me of the Star of Bethlehem.

Right now, I have the blue light one, but it will probably change every few days or as my colors preference changes.

My mom (White Raven) and I are making some new ones. I think Jay's new one is one that she made, and Iylde's is one of our new ones too. So fun.

I second that! I love these new avatars (especially the "Light" ones). I just changed mine for the very first time! I do love green. Something in it...calls to me.

You know, we're going to have to start this thread over, now that we've got new avatars.

I picked my new, green light avatar because I love green; it makes me think of the trees in the woods where I live, and in the forest that I love. This avatar doesn't make me think of Elestar as much as the pink light does, but rather, it reminds me of my story, which is all about forests.

We have a program called Paint Shop Pro with all sorts of neat tools. I have yet to make any avatars: mom has made a few so far, but I'm going to try one now. Funny to see how different her style is from Jay's.

As I am privileged to be one of his siblings (twin sister, actually, by "adoption". Long story...) I will go ahead and answer that question for him. Yes, he and his siblings Patrick and Juliet make most of them. Pretty cool, eh?

Well, I chose my new avatar because wonderful Mrs. White Raven made it out of my character's essence, and it reminds me SO much of my character... it is so beautiful.

Mrs. White Raven made mine too... I think she did an awesome job! She based it of off my character Alyse's essence.

Making avatars out of essence is a cool idea!  Then it's kind of special to the person who uses it, it has a deeper meaning.  I was about to borrow one of those, but just changed my mind after reading that. My avatar changes frequently, I can't decide on my fav.  Right now I think I have a tree with a tan backround.  It reminds me of the African savannah, which is where one of my books are set.  Pretty neat.

Now I have a new avatar which artistically skilled White Raven made from Azura's essence. I'll probably never change it again, I absolutely love it!

I chose mine 'cause it was similar to the REAL Keeneye avatar that I stole from some dude (but his credit is in the photo so I think it's legal haha).

I wonder....why aren't we able to upload our own pics? You could set up a system to moderate avatars.

We do not allow that because we like to set the mood of the forum via the avatars, and therefore we keep them more abstract, general, and able to be used by anyone (except for mine ). If you really want a specific avatar that you made, you can email it to me (about 100X100px) and if I approve it I will upload it to the gallery.

I chose my avatar because I tried several, but this one just fit the taste of the username. (My username is elvish, which is probably easy to tell.) I think the color is cooler toned and reminds me of healing. ^^
