Hello. I am childoffaith. I love reading. I have read 468 pages in about six hours. Some of the books I have read are Princess Bride, the Chronicles of Narnia, the Hobbit, the Inkheart series, nearly all the hardback Nancy Drew's, the Squire's Tales (for all you who like medieval stuff, this series is great), Ella Enchanted, Fairest, the Dragonkeeper series, the Oracles of Fire and Dragons in our Midst, the Door Within series, Isle of swords, Isle of fire, the Princess and the Goblin, the Princess and Curdie, the Phantom of the Opera, Echos from the Edge series, Jack Blank and the Imagine Nation, the Mark of the Lion series, all the Lost Books (until he writes more, that is), most of the Bible, the first 9 Ranger's Apprentice books, first 10 of the 39 Clues series, Cathrine, also called Birdie; and a whole bunch more. I am a readaholic. My fav. genre is Christian fantasy. I want to be a writer, but have trouble with coming up with ideas and sitting down to write. I have three cats. My favorite kind of animal is bird. My favorite color is green. I like nearly all foods except Mexican, spicy, cake, and cupcakes. Icecream cakes are good. Pies are great, especially cream pies. My favorite tv shows are I love Lucy, Beverly Hillbillies, and Gilligan's Island. I have two older brothers. I'm not home schooled but wish I was. If I could take any hobbies, I would choose fencing, horseback riding, and archery. I like making my own candles, but only get to do it every so renaissance fair.

Welcome, childoffaith! :D Yay! Another Nancy Drew reader! Have you read any of the Hardy Boys? We have lots of readers in here. :D It looks like you'll fit in great in here.

You know... intro's is kinda run over with punch at the moment... To add some selection:

*sets out hot cocoa (for those in colder climates), coffee (you have stay up! no sleeping in intro's!), lemonade (if life gives you lemons...), hot tea (for you British/tea drinking peoples ^.^), orange juice (for those who are just waking up ;)), water (for those who enjoy God's refreshing gift :dieshappy:), and.... fruit smoothies! (any flavor! :D :D)*

Thank you all for making me feel welcome! :) Yes, I have read the Hardy Boys, all that I could get from the library. My 2 fav refreshments are water and fruit smoothies, thank you very much. I have a strange dislike for soda. At first, I only liked lemon lime and orange, the smell of the other sodas made me feel sick. Then, I had so much lemon lime that I grew tired of it, and suddenly disliked it as much as the rest. Then, the same thing happened with he orange! Yes, it is strange. I also don't like coffee. The smell makes me feel sick. Ah, well. Thanks once again! :) HW seems real fun. When I first saw the abbreviation, I thought it stood for homework! lol! but I'm catching on! :)

But you never know... we're good at making people write, draw, play music, and other kinds of artistic arts around here... you just might end up with some "homework." ;)

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Childoffaith! I also thought HW stood for homework back when I first joined. ;)

I've always devoured books, so I think that's what sparked my writing flame. ^^ My mom used to write, but she's busy raising me and my brother...soon to be only my brother, and one of my friend's finally inspired me to write my first serious story when I was 11. :D

I have 8 cats. :D (1 indoor, 7 outdoor.) I love kitties! I've even had them in my books before.

YUS! I used to watch I Love Lucy, Beverly Hillbillies, and Gilligan's Island with my great-grandma when we slept over at her house. Goood times. :3

I see you've been thoroughly doused in glitter, penguins, punch, rose petals, and most other literary confections - and glad to see you're (apparently) surviving with sanity intact :) . I just went through the full treatment myself - or perhaps I'm still in the middle of it (graduation seems tentative around here).

*dries hands * On the acronym discussion, I have to say HWers threw me for a loop when I first began poking around here. What in the world was LWW? LotR? Please, speak English, people! But I asked questions, got used to it, and now people (poor Varon) ask me whatever in the world I'm talking about when I say CoE. *feels chastened * I am driving other people crazy with the very thing that drove (and still drives) me crazy. :shock:

Let it hereby be known that I absolutely LOVE City of Ember! The book was a favorite, and the movie has the same essence, plus an amazing score and a delightful steampunk styling. For awhile I was a bit obsessed with the story, and as such thought a lot about the subtext of Ember. I wrote a long review, comparing the book to the movie, to prove it. :D

Is it a prequel? There are 3 more books in the series, I think, but I haven't read them. I've heard the possible anti-Christianity goes off the deep end in the later books.

The prequel is one of the three later books, The Prophet of Yonwood, which could easily be very anti-Christian or even anti-religion.

Since we've washed the cupcakes off our hands, (Is that possible?), I suggest scones. All in flavor?
