Veiled by my favorite maiden's name from my most recent story, I am known as Lady Esmeralda on here. However, some of you are more familiar with my real name, Hannah Marie, used on the Rebelution as well as other forums. I was first introduced to this site by Sir Emeth Mimetes (or Jay); I have been following this forum consistently for the past couple of months, but I have finally decided to join you all on here.

I enjoy writing a great deal; though, my specialty definitely lies within poetry, non-fiction, and short stories. I have written several novels, but none that I believe to be truly worthy of much. Recently, I have decided to pursue an endeavor in writing Christian fantasy and allegories, as I am finding the modern world to be a bit boring for a story background as of late.

Besides writing, I spend a great deal of time reading. My bookshelf contains many classics and old literature as opposed to modern literature. I adore the ancient wording and writing style more than I do the straight-forward, modern-day English style (for reading material that is). I also hold value in theology books.

If I am not reading or writing, I can usually be found playing with musical instruments, listening to music, singing, or writing music. Music is the third time consuming passion in my life (as I am sure some of you are bound to read on the Instruments thread).

Seeing as many of you are homeschoolers, I think I will break the consistency by saying that I am not and have never been. I remain within the public school system for five more months before I am introduced to the college spectrum.

I am looking forward to continue reading everyone's wonderful postings. :)

P.S. For those who are wondering, "Grüße" is "greetings" in German.

The books or the music in which we thought the beauty was located will betray us if we trust to them; it was not in them, it only came through them, and what came through them was longing. These things—the beauty, the memory of our own past—are good images of what we really desire; but if they are mistaken for the thing itself they turn into dumb idols, breaking the hearts of their worshippers. For they are not the thing itself; they are only the scent of a flower we have not found, the echo of a tune we have not heard, news from a country we have never yet visited.

All the things that have deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it—tantalising glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear... We cannot tell each other about it. It is the secret signature of each soul, the incommunicable and unappeasable want . . . which we shall still desire on our deathbeds . . . ~C.S. Lewis

Nessa- She's given up the veil, the vows she'd sworn, abandoned every effort to conform. Without a word to anyone she's gone her way alone, a dove escaping back into the storm.

Nolan- And though I don't understand why this happened, I know that I will when I look back someday, and see how you've brought beauty from ashes, and made me as gold purified through the flames.

Azriel- And who do you think you are, running round leaving scars, collecting your jar of hearts, and tearing love apart? You're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul, so don't come back to me. Don't come back at all...

Hey! I saw you on the Rebelution forum. If I'm correct, you're a moderator on there. I think you actually helped me change my username from Elizabth Liberty to Elizabeth Liberty. I'm such a horrible typist . . . *sigh* Anyway, glad to see you on here. Can't wait to see your work!

Well, thank ye, Jay!

Haha. I am very glad to meet you too, Mindy!

Elizabeth, we meet again! And no worries, Elizabeth, that kind of stuff happens all the time; it does not mean you are horrible typist at all. ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! :D
