Post subject:  Greetings!

Hi there,

I was introduced to this forum by Inesdar, and am posting this message because of his threats of what he'd do if I did otherwise.

Outside of the forum, I go to the same church as Brendan. I believe that, because all of us are created in God's image, we are innately creative. I have been learning how to play piano for several years now, and love to play and compose my own music. I also love to read and write stories (at least in theory: although I still have some ideas bouncing around in my head, I haven't done much writing in recent months. Perhaps spending time here will help to rekindle that spark.)

You've all been very friendly and welcoming. More than one person has already gone out of their way to send me a personal greeting! However...I wonder if I'll still be welcome when you discover that I've never read the Chronicles of Narnia or LotR! Mwahahaha!

As for what I have read, some of my favorite books include Inkheart by Cornelia Funke and the original book adaptation of the Princess Bride (I generally like things that play with the fourth wall in a unique way.) I am also into video games, which, often bearing a 40+ hour long storyline, can combine the length and depth of a novel with the visual and musical drama of a film.

Anyway, I am excited to start getting involved here. I have already explored many parts of the forum, and it all looks fun and engaging...

...and insane, as Brendan likes to put it.

Hi Timothy!! Welcome To HolyWorlds! I'm first on the grid to welcome you, wooo! I think you're going to fit in just fine! :D *breaks out the glitter and confetti*

Seems we have a bit in common! I've only read one of the books in the Chronicles of Narnia, and I've never read or watched LOtR so you're safe from me there. ;) "Inkheart" is one of my favourite books, one of the few fantasies on my shelf, and I love playing the piano! :D

Most of us HWers act kind of insane, but we really can be serious if we feel like it. ;) So go crazy and have fun here! We love new members! :D

Love? We deck them out in glitter, lock them in the Intro sub-forum, and pepper them with cupcakes, tacos and muffins! :D :D

*bows* Welcome Sir Tim! We're pleased you've chosen to join the rank of HWer. I'm Vili, friend to Bethy who is Indy's adopted online sister ^.^

Oh, and yeah, welcome to HW and all. Whatever you do, don't resist the cupcakes and partying that is to come soon. Then you shall be like me, chained to a an iron door, cursed to drag it with you wheresoever thou goest in the halls of HW.

Haha! I like the way Inesdar thinks. As a mod, I can get a bit grumpy if people don't start a welcome thread for themselves. ;) But when you start one, I bring cupcakes! :D

We're glad to have you! Despite what some may say, LoTR and Narnia are NOT required reading around here, so you're okay. ;) And if you need a writing spark rekindled... you surely came to the right place!

Have fun, post around... you're in good company!

Post subject:  Re: Greetings!

Unfortunately the latest version of the electric emu is not portable enough for convention attendance, and he has terrible manners.

I will, however, pledge to bring my door with me so that you can all sign it :D
Of course, I won't be at any conventions in the foreseeable future, and since I can forsee pretty effectively I am afraid it will be a long time before I get to have anyone sign my door.

*sips punch* *strokes grizzled beard* It was in the summer of...'23, methinks. Here me and my battalion had been ordered into action mistakenly, and we faced legions upon legions of evil squid. Our penguins were cut down left and right, and soon we were left without support.

On an unrelated subject, what sorts of music does everyone like? I'm guessing that epic orchestral music is pretty popular around here.
