You want proof, I'll give you proof.

If these are real then... What else is real?

Unicorns, Lock Ness, and Big foots are real also.

My sister thinks the Lock Ness is just submarine testing for the military...it would make sense. Yes?

But that's off topic. We all know the Bible mentions dragons. Need I say more?

But to find physical evidence is just awesome.

They're probably still out there somewhere. Ever seen Reign of Fire?

Yes, I suppose physical evidence is fun. :D

No...can't say I have, but I wouldn't entirely disagree with the idea of dragon-like creatures still existing today and just being well hidden. I think the Bible mentions something about creatures coming out in the book of Revelation (been awhile since I studied that book). I seriously sound like a crazy fantasy writer right now.

I've seen Reign of Fire. It's good.

Dragons and dinosaurs are one and the same methinks. And there's no doubt that they lived together since they're in the Bible. And it makes sense for all of the Dinos to be dead. If I saw one in my yard I'd shoot it :D

Just because we don't see them doesn't mean they're not there.

Um, no, I disagree, Bethy. There is a lot of proof for Nessie, you are talking to the creation science buff here. I'm convinced Nessie was real, although I'm not positive Nessie is living in 2011.

I have a blog series that will be coming out on the HW blog. It will be in 4 parts, and will discuss dragons/dinosaurs in the Bible, in literature, in the past, and in the present.

Yay! *hugs Airi* I thought I was the only one that thought Nessie could be real! Mainly because my sister always have some sort of smart comeback to all my debates...

What I meant about my statemeant was that my sister thinks it's military stuff. I was just curious on any other opinions since it's not entirely impossible with the knowledge that the lake was used as submarine testing in a war (according to my sibling). I wanted to see if anybody would counteract that with an even better debating phrase. Otherwise I'd be thoroughly convinced that my sister's logical reasoning may actually be better than my own.

The unicorn is not a horned horse as most believe, it is actually a distant relative of the goat. They have cloven hooves while horses do not. Plus the males have beards which horses also do not.

Tell you what, Bethy. I have quite the debate on the subject. PM me, and I'll leak some blog post info early to you. I think the facts are very conclusive, and I think you may win the debate after all ;) Course, that is because I haven't found anyone able to refute my points.

I am of the firm belief that dragons were hunted to extinction. And, personally, good riddance. :D

Joe Clemons! If you find a dinosaur in your yard, please don't shoot it! I'll take it. I love dinosaurs. :(

I agree. Dinosaurs and dragons (which are related, if you ask me) and other such like creatures were mentioned in the Bible. I've heard good reasoning for why they might not have been able to survive for very long in the post-Flood world. I believe unicorns were mentioned in the Bible as well.

I find all of this very fun, because I can include dinosaurs, dragons, and such the like in my novels that are supposedly set in "this earth" without breaking any rules. :D

Looking forward to the blog posts, Airianna.

This is definitely fantasy writer related so I want to move it... but I'm not sure where. Village Lore maybe? Any mods with ideas?

IT'S SMAUG!

Look at the skulls of the triceratops and that dragon skull. Look very similar, huh? I think dragons and dinosaurs were very closely related.

I also think that if Nessie was real, it wasn't a unique creature. IMO, it was probably a killer whale or something that was foreign to that lake and part of the world.

Unicorns were real, I think...but I have no evidence.

Dinosaurs/dragons were mentioned in Job as well...(leviathan?)

We still live among dinosaurs. I've met one. Well, seen one, in Florida. Aligators and Crocodiles. All a dinosaur is a large reptile. So Gators count right?

Post subject:  Re: So you think they don't exist.

The Loch Ness monster couldn't really be a military sub I don't think... There's a lake much like the Loch in Vermont. It's deep, broad, and very choppy. They have a monster that's been sighted they call Champ (after Lake Champlain it's home). I don't see that it could be a trick of the eyes either as Ness has been sighted on land.

On the topic of dinosaurs and dragons, it would not surprise me if some dragons could breathe fire. The Tyrannosaurus has so many holes in it's skull that chemicals could have been held in it somewhere. The Parasaurolophus had a fin on it's head that could've also held chemicals. The reality of dinosaurs and dragons are one and the same to me, but I keep them more traditional for my fantasy.
