Hello. *shy smile* I just joined, and after replying on a few threads and starting a topic in the Naming category, the kind older members encouraged me to introduce myself. So here I am.
My younger sister introduced me to this forum, and I really like what I see here; young people who are creative and highly imaginative, yet level headed, humble, and well grounded. I decided to join for inspiration, discussion, and to show off a little of my work.
About me: I am tall with long red hair. I am (in real life) very shy and quiet. I am a singer and an artist; I try very hard to draw what my characters look like.
About my story: I have never published a book, nor written one good enough to be published. I have a novel in my head, but mostly hidden, and I'm afraid to bring it out. The main characters so far are a 13 year old girl named Mahlia and a cloaked, sword carrying man named Davien. I don't have any specific antagonist, and a very vague, uncertain plot, and an interesting but underdeveloped world. An excerpt from what I have written serves as my signature.
I am excited about being a part of this, and thank you all for your very warm welcome.
<>< Aemi

Hello Aemi! Welcome to Holy Worlds.

It's always lovely to meet new people here. I hope we can give you some good inspiration and discussions and vice versa!

I am interested, who is your younger sister?

I am also very shy in real life, however I soon settled down here it is a lovely place just to be yourself! I'm not very shy here anymore hehe.

Your signature is awesome. I hope you share some more about your story with us and don't be afraid to bring it out! :) Remember the first script can just be the bones and then you can enhance it! There's no need to be afraid just let your writing take you on an amazing journey! :) Only after reading your signature I want to read more! Hehe.

Anyhow, again it's lovely to have you here. I'm looking forward to seeing you about the forums.

In Christ

Elanor

P.S Oops I forgot the glitter, we can never ever have an introductions thread without glitter. Throws tons of glitter in Aemi's thread.

Thank you, thank you! After seeing the welcome party you guys threw for Arien, I was expecting some glitter. :D
My little sister is not a member, she just likes to look around. I think Daddy thinks she is not old enough yet. I'll be sure to let y'all know if she does join.
I'm loving it here so far. I certainly will post more of what I've written. And, Elanor, have I told you how much I love your signature? I know you didn't write it, but that poem is so beautiful that I stop to read it every time I see it. I almost have it memorized.
I love Lord of the Rings, too. I'm working on reading the trilogy again, and thoroughly enjoying it.

Welcome to Holy Worlds, the haunt of strange yet very fun people, some of which are known for throwing tacos and others for carrying charred doors. Here you will find everything from dragons to penguins and all of it covered in glitter. Speaking of which

*plants a glitter bomb and leaves*
*hides nearby so that if that crazy moderator Elanhil tries to plant another one he can disarm it*

Arwen. That is a pretty name. And Reiyen- *sees glitter bomb* -HEY! Get back here! *frantically tries to stamp out bomb* Why did I invite everybody over here? Perhaps I was hoping you'd bring refreshments. I wanted to have a quick dessert potluck.
I think I will just flee to the kitchen and bake everybody some Apple Cinnamon Muffin-Cake. (My specialty.) Be back in half an hour! Have fun! *doges for the door as glitter bomb explodes*

Yay! New people! You may have figured out, we like new people and their introductory parties. ;) You catch on quick. Some new people are a little... disturbed by the glitter. :D

Anyway, welcome! We're so thrilled to have you here! Elanor speaks the truth, and aptly - do not be afraid to share your writing. If you're having struggles we can fix that; if you're not very interested in your writing we'll fix that too! :D

I'll have you know I don't bring glitter - I bring cupcakes. ;) And about the glitter bombs... someone else started that and for some reason Reiyen feels obliged to keep up tradition.

Welcome, Aemi! It's good to have you here! *brings butter pecan turtle cookies to share and a fan to keep the glitter moving*

*comes in bearing three muffin tins, which are steaming with something hot and cinnamon-y*
I'm back! Let me just set them on the table---Oh my, the glitter is knee deep in here. Good thing it's non-toxic. Don't worry about it, I'll vacuum when the party's over. Please, everybody take a muffin.
Ooh, cupcakes. My favorite kind! Did you make them, Phil, or get them at Walmart? Whoa, Arwen, that snickers cake looks superb. *picks up a slice* Let's see, where are the forks? I don't know where you keep the silverware in this forum.
*takes a cookie* I don't think I've had this kind before, but it looks good, Leandra!

I'm so glad you made an intro, Amei! Welcome, welcome! As you can see, our Intro threads are one big party that brings out the goofiest sides to people ;) Enjoy, and try to play safely :D

And what, may I ask, is wrong with glitter, Miss Philli?

Thank you, O honored member of the Council. Would you like a muffin? They're fresh out of the oven. And you may take your pick of the cupcakes, cookies, and snickers cake on the buffet table right there.
By the way, do you know where the forks are kept? I'm eating this slice of cake with my fingers, and it's kind of crumbly that way. I must say, I didn't expect such a warm, delicious, glittery welcome when I registered last Sunday night. Y'all are so nice!

I never said anything was wrong with glitter, just that I am not responsible for it. Cupcakes are my stick. ;) And I do make them myself, yes. :D Much easier (and more delicious) than driving up to WalMart every time we have a newbie.

I don't know where the forks are. I can't say we've ever used them. Usually we don't have fork-food in the intro forums... Curious. I've got napkins, though.

Napkins? Oh, thank you. *grabs a napkin and wipes frosting off nose* There are few things messier than biting into a large, well iced cupcake. Mmmmm!
And Leandra, I do like the cookies. I've had two. Did y'all like my muffins?

*licks caramel off of fingers*

I think I could tell you guys liked the muffins, considering you're picking crumbs off the plate. My family loved them, too, when I made them for breakfast last Thursday. Only that time I poured the batter into a cake pan and called it Muffin-Cake.

Be still my heart, Aemi! You are such the little hostess! You don’t happen to want to be a pastor’s wife, do you?

And yes, I'll take lots of those confections off your hands for you :D

Welcome Aemi. I'm fairly new myself, but you're adopted pretty quickly here.

Actually, I'm a pastor's daughter, so I'm used to this sort of thing. :) I want to marry whomever God has for me, but he might be a pastor, who knows?
By the way, if you're looking for me, I might be over in---somewhere. I'll tell you after I decide. Thank you for bringing all those delicious desserts!
<>< Aemi

P.S. Hi, Eli! All these people were so inviting, I just had to respond in kind! It was a fun morning.

 Ice cream cakes and cookies...I leave for half a day and I miss out on an introduction thread? *head/desk*

Well, I can see you're already being welcomed quiet heartily, but I felt the need to welcome a fellow singer so. Welcome to Holy Worlds Aemi! May this forum be as helpful to you as it has been to me and many others before me! :D

Wait....was I supposed to throw tacos?...I'm the one "Known for throwing tacos" as Reiyen put it....not sure if I have any on me right now, though. *sifts through purse* Okay, found some! *throws tacos in the air*

Question for the singers... does my rapping count? I also sing something like a bass when singing hymns...

I don't know, Eli....Toby Mac's a singer and he raps most of the time...so I would suppose it counts. :D I count it. It's just a different style of singing...

Hey, welcome Bethany and Vilisse! Thank you for showing up on my little thread. I truly appreciate everyone's heart-felt welcomes (and the scrumptious desserts you brought). It's gonna be fun getting to know the people around here. I see some amazing imaginations, that's for sure. *stares at the tacos lying in the glitter*
How did the taco tradition get started, anyway?

*chuckles* Everybody asks that. Never gets old to explain.

Somebody told me, when I first joined, that glitter was an inside joke. So, since I don't like to mess with inside jokes, I throw tacos instead. I throw tacos for celebrations, give you pie if you're sad, and eat bananas if I'm just plain bored.

It's not really a tradition, though. Just a thing I do. :D

I'm glad you're enjoying the welcomes. It's certainly one of the most fun parts of joining HW. :)

You are an interesting person, Bethany.
I went and read your blog. The whole thing. It was wonderful! You show great talent and great potential; I would like to read more of your work. You remind me of my sister, who loves to write. She is about your age.
On that note, since I'm a brand new member, could somebody please tell me where I can read people's stories?
P.S. I recently posted a reply on "Why do they have to be bad?" in the Peoples, Races, and Tribes section.

Here is a link to the Fireside forum, where stories go: viewforum.php?f=19 The Fireside forum is hidden from anyone who is not a member.

Here is a link to the Quests forum, where some of the challenge threads have stories on them: viewforum.php?f=34

And here is a link to a thread about the blogs of members, since some members (including me) post stories on their blogs: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1551&start=0

*walks in, sticks candles in Philli's cupcakes, and then grabs a muffin*

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Aemi! I hope you don't mind my rather violent and flammable approach to welcoming:

*A rocket of light shoots up from the dark blue horizon and explodes in the air into the shape of a fiery dragon. The dragon stretches out its sparking wings and swoops up into the air, turning in loops and twists. As it flies, trails of fiery glitter are left in its wake, forming flowing cursive letters that read:

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Aemi!

With the final letter completed, the dragon plummets downwards. He circles the buffet table, and then explodes into a thousand flaming sparks. The sparks settle into flames atop the candles.*

That was George the Fireworks Dragon, by the way. He's another welcoming tradition, though his owner is sometimes lazy and doesn't include him as often as she should. *cough* :D

I love your name, by the way. I'm a big fan of names with ae in them. :)

*gets up from a duck-and-cover position on the floor, brushes glitter off clothing*
 ! Wow, I was special enough that you brought out George the Fireworks Dragon? :D That was spectacular! You guys really enjoy this, don't you? I can picture you whispering to each other, "There's a new member in town! Quick, go help give her an extravagant welcome!". Then you grab fans, bags of glitter, cupcakes, and tacos, and set out to storm my thread. I can't wait until there's another new member, so I can join in with the surprise party! :)

Thank you for the link, Jonathan, and first thing tomorrow (or second, or third,) I shall go check it out. Meanwhile, I'm going to bed. Good night, everyone, but I am sure the party is not over yet!

Haha, thanks. :D Usually I'm a crazy or annoying person, 'tis fun to be interesting. You get free magical pie! *hands you pie*

Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. :D I love writing, but I love it even more when I know people enjoy reading it. And your sister sounds nice. You sort of remind me of my sister, the nice parts of her. :)

As for where to read other member's stories. Jonathan pretty much got you covered. ;) Personally, I hang out at the fireside a lot. You should post there sometime! I'm sure your writings are great!

:D That's exactly what happens. I got told, "Have y'all met the HWer, Aemi? She's really nice! Everybody's throwing an insanely hilarious party at her introduction thread." Except I grabbed unicorns. With orange blossoms in their mane this time. *lets unicorns loose* Dance nicely this time. No knocking people around.

Hey, I can't believe we're missing music! What type do you like, Aemi? (See, these intro threads are all actually carefully planned to reveal deep information of your psyche!)

Welcome to Holy Words! Before you know it we'll be begging and teasing and bribing that story out of you. ;) We get very into each others' stories. By the way, who is your younger sister on here? I know someone else asked, but I never saw the answer. . .

For instrumental, I like classical, and Celtic style, and for lyrical, I like artists like Chris Tomlin, sometimes Casting Crowns, and I like most hymns. There are actually few kinds of music that I don't like, except for heavy rock, and that kind of stuff.

"How greeeaaat is our God!
Sing with me
How greeeaaat is our God,
and all will see
How greeeaaat, how greeeaaat, is our God!"

No way, another harmony improviser! :D I drive my family crazy by singing harmony to whatever song I'm listening to - with headphones.

Do you play any musical instruments, Aemi?

Aw, you're the greatest, Evening, having George light up the cupcakes! That's a brilliant idea. :D

Your post made me laugh, Droid...

*accepts muffin even though she is currently squashed my Maid* *watches unicorns dancing to the hymn* Hmm. . . oh, and my goal is to make you laugh.

My sis does that to us. I can't sing to save my life, though, so I'd actually drive my family nuts if I listened to music without headphones. I have this habit of listening to one or two songs on constant repeat.

Ooh, ooh, can we listen to Enya after this? ;) Hey, I like picking out playlists for welcome threads. . . we should do this more. . .

Well, Kat, whatever we listen to next, it has to be something without lyrics. I can't listen to a song I like without singing along to it, and that might impede conversation. Although I have been known to sing along even without lyrics. Um, who's Enya?
Hello, Evening. In answer to your question, I am learning to play the piano. I started last year. However, I have been singing since I was one year old, that's what my father tells me.

In case y'all are wondering, I started a topic over in the Peoples, Races, and Tribes category. Feel free to visit the thread! *reaches over to pet the unicorn*

Er. . . well, she's not singing in English. . .
This is enya. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17yvkyyN ... rofilepage Personally, I like to listen to her music without watching the video.

*unicorn enjoys petting then sticks nose into Aemi's pocket* Oh, I don't think she has spare apples. Here, try a muffin. (Hey, it's a unicorn! Unicorns can eat whatever they want.) *other unicorns run over to the muffins* Oops.
