Ok we all love fantasy movies right? (Well, most do). I saw this movie the other day and I can tell you it was probably the worst movie I've seen in a long time.
The story is based off of a video game so you're not expecting much from that are you? Well, they managed to make it so much unlike the game you would never know it (I wish they had done it like the game's story. It was better.)
The acting, directing, script, and sound on this film were terrible. The special effects weren't very good either.
But I thought it was worth the watch just to learn from something bad. Sure you can learn a lot from Tolkien or C.S. Lewis but I learned a lot of what NOT to do when watching this movie. It really was very educational. So I would recommend you fantasy writers watching this movie to learn what not to do because anything that they could do wrong they did.

Trailer. http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi884080921/

(WARNING: The movie is PG-13 so be warned. It deserved it.)

I don't think I've ever even heard of this movie, which, based off of your analysis, doesn't surprise me.

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Haha. Sounds funny. Was it humorously bad?

I like learning from poor, retarded, or just plain bad films.

We should start a thread for movie reviews. I have a film review blog... http://www.critblog.com.

Haha, I saw this Joe and I completely agree, I did not enjoy it at all.
