I got the curriculum from a friend, and it was very interesting. (funny, too!) I've not done it according to the schedule, but I have read some of the textbook and it has helped. If I write a second novel I might do it according to their schedule and watch the videos. (I haven't watched them yet)
The one (or two) thing(s) I didn't agree with them about were the adjectives and adverbs. I like adjectives and adverbs, and though it is true that too many of them in one place can weaken a story, I use them more than they would recommend.
Overall, I would say that it's probably a good investment, and it has helped my writing quite a bit. ;)

I'm a OYANer and I LOVE!!!!!!
I'm revising my first novel that I wrote with OYANC and I'm working on two more.
It is in my opinion the BEST writing curriculum out there!

P.S.
I like some adverbs and adjectives too Lady Eruwaedhiel, but I have learned that they are not always necessary and that deleting them can make your writing better.
Oh, and in the curriculum Mr. S. has you write your novel in first person. I wrote mine in third. ;)

When we first got the curriculum, my mom suggested I do it with my novel that I'd already started, but that wasn't possible because (I do write most of my story in first person,) I jump around a lot from character to character. Most of my jumps are to Aaron, (in which case I write in third person) but once I think I had a jump to one of my villains (Venna) and I'm planning a jump to one or two other characters.

Do you think it works well with a novel you've already started or do you have to tweek a few things?

I used it with a novel I already started. It helped a TON, but I kept it in third person.

I'm an OYANer. I really like it. Its helped my writing style in general, and has made my stories better, too, I think. My last novel I did in 3rd person, too. Never gone through anything so fast as I did OYAN for that novel. It was NaNoWriMo. :D
