Hello, fellow writers! (Oh, and konnichiwa is Japanese for "good afternoon/hello" My real name is Carissa. Duchess Daisy came about in the following way, for those who are interested: Well, we studied the medival times a couple years ago, and I was a “Duchess” at our “banquet”. And I like the name and flower “daisy”. So when I was choosing an Age of Empires name, that’s what I came up with. (My brother Josiah wanted me to play with him.) Also, the Daisy flower stands for purity, which is something I am striving for. Ever since then, I have liked that name and used it. Now you know! About me... hmm. I have always enjoyed writing, though I have mainly done poetry and non-fiction. So I probably will not be very active here. However, I am interested in seeing what you all are going to talk about. I am mainly here because Jay aka Sir Emeth Mimetes wanted me to be, so I could help him with some tests. At nineteen, I am the oldest of seven children. I have three younger brothers and three younger sisters. We live in a small house, considering the number of people we have living in it. “My” room has two bunk beds, which hold all four of us girls. I sleep on the top, in case you are wondering. Our ages are: Hannah, 17; Josiah, 15; Emily, 12; Cheryl, almost 10; William, 6; and Matthew, 4. We call our parents “Papa” and “Mama”. We occasionally see a (small) alligator in the “canal” behind our house. I have lived in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Missouri, and now here. We have been homeschooled our entire lives. I am graduated. I really enjoy reading, (as does my entire family, the youngest two excluded–but they will soon, as I am teaching them how to read over the summer) teaching, knitting, basketball, soccer (sometimes), learning Japanese, talking to little boys (and little girls), holding babies, photography, praying, gardening, talking to papa and more. Well, there you have it. Carissa in a few short paragraphs. |

Ielorasano Twin Sister Carissa, (Ielorasano is North Aschian for "Peace to you." It is pronounced Yell-or-uh-Sah-no.) Thank you for joining! I hope that you will find enjoyment in our rambles. With joy and peace in Christ, Jay Lauser |

Thank you for the welcome, Laura! I am sure I will get some enjoyment out of it. I am hoping to write a book eventually. It will probably be a non-fiction book, but who knows? I was thinking of starting one this year, but my writing tutor/friend suggested I write for the newspaper for awhile first. So we are working on getting that going. What about you? Do you have any writing plans? |

Greetings Daniel! Ah, so you learned some Japanese awhile ago? That is neat! I have forgotten quite a bit as well. Though recently I have been learning more. We have a Japanese friend, so that is how I got started with it. So how did you end up on this forum? Do you write much? --Carissa |

Ielorasano Twin Brother Jay, Oh great, now everyone will be confused. You are welcome. I think it will be fun reading what you all talk about. Maybe I will be able to add something here and there... you never know. Joyfully in Christ, Carissa |

I 'ended up' on this forum, because a friend had a link to it on their blog. *points at Laura* So I went to look at it, read the rules, etc. and decided to join. I write a lot... at the moment I'm at chapter 6 (of 12) on my first novel, and 27,444 words. And I have a new story that I'm going to be writing here. Do you write? |

I saw your blog after I wrote my first reply... That is neat that you are writing a novel! It is coming along nicely from what I saw. Yes, I write. I write something almost daily. Usually blog posts, but I have several other projects going as well that involve some kind of writing. I have never done Christian Fantasy writing, though. It sounds like fun. But I don't think I will do any right now. I am quite busy. |

Sir Emeth Mimetes wrote: Carissa, Hmm... Maybe you should explain. Reading is fun, especially when you can edit. With joy and peace in Christ, Jay Lauser Me? Why me? You started it! :P Okay, fine. Here is the brief version of how we came to be twins in spite of the fact that we live on different continents, are 29 days apart, and have never met. Well, I joined the rebelution cafe and then the cafe leader's group. And Jay was in that group. And I found his blog. And was shocked at how similar our families were. It is really very strange. And we keep finding new things, too. Anyway. I commented and he commented on my blog. And then later on I got gmail. And it happens that we are on the same time every day. So we got to know each other pretty well. One day he said that he thought he talked to me almost as much as his sister. And so I said, "Why don't you adopt me?" And he said, "I think I already have." Later on we decided to be twins because we are so close in age. So, there you have it. At least my version. Maybe I left something out. I don't know. Ask Jay. Disclamer: We are both very, very weird. So naturally we do weird things. Sorry. We can't help it. |

Carissa, Sounds right to me. We are definitely very weird, depending on how you define 'normal.' |

Of course, in today's world, being a Christian almost automatically labels you as 'weird.' |

Knight of Elyon wrote: Of course, in today's world, being a Christian almost automatically labels you as 'weird.' I am glad to hear that you all feel the same way about weirdness. It is good if the world sees us as weird. That means that we are living out our faith. It is fun being weird, though. Or rather it is fun shocking people who are not weird in the same way we are. "You don't have a TV!!!" "You have SIX siblings??" and so on. |

Are you two homeschooled? Just wondering. Because homeschoolers usually like being weird. In fact, we are often proud of it. |

I just read this topic...wow. I love being wierd. My friends and I go around "being wierd" because that's just who we are. "In the world and not of it" - that would be why we don't wear name brand clothes and choose to be ourselves in public, not someone else. (Oh, and I'm homeschooled too.) |

Yes it is! Amen! I know girls who aren't themselves and I can see how much more fun I have, even if that means other people don't like me because I'm me |
