We see each other's pictures just about every day so I thought I'd ask: does your avatar have a meaning? Does it connect to your story in some way?

Mine is the Phoenix Mark. In my world it is a circular medallion worn by members of the phoenix conclave (I'll explain in my entry on the anthrogryphs). My character Aren has one.

Yes--Seer made it based on the essence he got from my username. And his interpretation is eerily similar to mine =)

Mine doesn't have a specific meaning. I made it for myself. What I try to portray in my avatar is:

1.) I like horses. Particularly Arabians.

2.) The flowers were in the original image, but they seem to represent a very feminine side.

3.) The "sparkles/strings of light" are to portray a sense of fantasy and whimsicality.

4.) The horse itself portrays: grace, elegance, strength, nobility, gentleness, thoughtfulness, humility, and obedience.

I had picked up a similar essence just looking at yours, Calen. Interesting...

White Raven made my avatar. It's based on an essence map I made for one of my characters.

I have Diegose in my story (you'd have to look them up under creatures) which are the equivalent of a Dragon. I also love dragonflies. So I decided to create an avatar that was sort of a fun pun that helped people visualize my likes and spirit. Thus I sport the "DragonFly" as my Avatar.

I like it, and the meaning behind it.

Alright, here's the meaning I made for my avatar.

The dragon you see on the rock outcropping is Varowsen, the last in the line of dragon nobility about to turn his back on Edradria and Ainaan after Dur Greden. He is the last dragon to be seen, and he will never leave that cave until the end and he may return to Evenfar.

Wow, that was impressive. Now I want to know the whole story behind his being there.

There's a reason I can play a pretty good jazz improvisation piece, I'm pretty good at making things up on the fly as I type.

I made my current one based off my essence map of my username.

Mine is the name of the sword of one of my main characters.

WR made mine from an essence map for Aarin, one of my characters.

Mine means that somebody took a blunt object to the paper right below my name.

I just read this old thread, and most of the people have changed their avatars since then!
My avatar doesn't have a specific meaning, but I chose it because:
I love horses;
I love Arabian horses;
The image was already in my computer, so it was handy;
I love the sweeping lines and the expression on the horse's face;
I drew the picture;
and
I think it gives you some of my essence.

Mine means that I dueled with the programmers for my identity... and whilst protecting my username and color (username unsuccessfully) Jay changed my avatar, too. I haven't seen fit to change it back yet, if even I could.

Mine is to go with my name. But instead of just a lute I wanted an actual player for the lute. And since humanoids aren't allowed I came up with the dragon bard.

My avatar represents Blue Dragon, my alternate identity (actually created when I chose the avatar...), and the green crown on her is because Cap'n gave her one upon my promotion.

Meaning? Not really. It's just a sword over a whirlpool that looks decent...

I think mine changed twice since I started this thread... maybe three times. Anyway, this one is an essence that Mama Raven did for my leading lady, KD.

Not mine. My avatar is just a random, meaningless swan.

Mine references the chat mishap that made me the leprechaun king.

Though I hope to eventually finish Beorn's X+ map and ask Mama Raven to make an avatar based on that.

An avatar before the Leprechaun one? Yeah, Caleb was kind enough to make me one that was based off the essence of my Elvish name.

Mine, which will show up as soon as Andrew or Joe approves it, shows several things about me:
- I like the sea and sky
-My favorite color is blue
-I'm a colorful person and am not ordinary
-I like animals
-I like things to look fairly logical (not like most of the avatars, with transparent images. They look nice, but they confuse me. XD )
-I'm a dreamer

And I custom-made it.

Mine was made by Mama Raven. She created it based off of an essence map I created of Janet from Twenty and Ten. It all has elements that I used to describe her. You can take a look at my map if you want to see the essence further. My previous avatar, if anyone remembers it, was made by Seer. It was created based off of my username, Captain Nemo, so it was all sea-ship like and awesome.

Mine doesn't really have a meaning other than the verse. I just think of it as the taking up of a the Sword, and putting on the armour of Light.

My avatar was inspired by the song "Nothing Is Wasted" by Jason Gray. It reminds me that our God works all things for our good, and that through our greatest weaknesses, our greatest pain, God does His greatest works in and through us.

I think my avatar has a meaning. But I'm rather confused about how to state it, so I'll come back later.

For me, I want to write in such a way that I spread my own passion and energy for the book and Christ to others. And so I have a pen writing a line of fire to represent passion.

My avatar is a reminder to me, of where my foundation is for every one of my writings. It also helps me remember for Whose glory I'm trying to write - my King's glory, instead of my own.
