Hello :) I'm Vilisse (I pronounce it vil-LEE-say, but I'm probably doing it wrong :P ) I liked to be called Vili or Vil (though some have called me Liss....)

My username is from Quettaparma Quenyanna (Quenya) and means "A person's general spirit or personality."

Instead of rambling on about myself, I'll stop here (a resonable place) and eat a banana :D

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Vilisse! Awesome username. Quenya--that is a form of elvish, correct? (not having read LotR, my memory sometimes fails me on the various languages which I only know because my sister (Melody Kondrael) loves them.)

Hmm, which form of Quenya is that? I'm a little rusty on certain parts of elvish (especially the parts that are in the History of Middle-earth books that I don't have access to. ;D)

In any case, hail and mae govennan!

I love banana's!

Ooo, banana lovers?

Yes, Quenya is a form of Elvish by Tolkien. I'm not sure where it's used though. My brother found a dictionary online somewhere a long time ago. (I used to scroll through it a lot back then) but I don't remember where it went.
One of the only other words I can remember is Cormacolindor (sp?) which is another word for "ring-bearer"

@Melody: "Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo" (I don't really know Elvish, I just copy and paste --- oh! Look what I found in your signature  )

@Calen: thank you

So glad to have you! I myself only know a few Elvish phrases & words - the ones that Melody has repeated enough that I can actually remember what they mean. :)

But guess what - this is fantasy, and we're not limited to blue worlds! You can have purple or yellow or whatever you want. :D

(There, I've had my required dose of ridiculousness for the day... back to developing characters...)

Really, happy to meet you!

Great to meet another Quenya lover.;)

Welcome aboard!

(for those who don't know elvish, Elen sila lumenn omentielvo means "A star shines on the hour of our meeting.:P)

@Philli: I only said blue because the current theme is blue ;) otherwise you would have been stuck with a thread titled "Hello there..." and I would have given you my Starwars-ish introduction. But! Seeing as this is a fantasy setting/forum I decided to scratch that idea and made this one. I suppose I could have said something in Tolkien's Elvish, but that might have been taken as I'm a superfan of Tolkien and I know Quenya like the "back of my hand!" I certainly didn't want that approach seeing as I have no real ability in writing/reading/speaking Quenya. (as previously stated)

hehehe  now that I've have my "required dose of ridiculousness" has anyone ever noticed that if you take the "H" off the end of Elvish to get Elvis? hm.....

Sorry, I'd had a LONG afternoon doing website formatting, and my brain was getting a bit computer-fried. So I had the irresistible urge to say something ridiculous about blue worlds. :D I'm sane now, promise.

But if you want to use your Star Wars greeting, you can join our sci-fi sister site (holyworlds.com/scifi) and start an introductory thread there! :D

A measure of silliness... Hmm...

Even if we could, I think we should refrain from doing so for dignity's sake. :D

I seem to do a lot of agreeing around here. Anyways, agreed! :D

I'll also echo and agree with what everyone else has said: Welcome to Holy Worlds, and I really like your name. I should probably learn some Elvish sometime...

You're fine. :) We shouldn't be dignified all the time. It's sad, and gloomy, and far too depressifying.

Art! Hee hee! My brother has a tablet. He uses it for photo manipulation stuff (he's really good...) and I've borrowed it a few times. But my computer desk is too high and it was hard, so I gave up. (plus, he uses his tablet a lot, so I don't get many chances to use it. ;) ) So I draw the good ol' way, with pen and paper. I don't use pencils very often... and anyway, pens draw better on hands when no paper is immediately available. :D

I have used my brother's tablet a few times. It's great... or at least it was. I updated MyPaint last night and have had all kinds of trouble with it since, and he wasn't home to fix it for me. I have done two complete inked drawings on it, and really want to learn to do it more. :)

What kind do you do? Manga, by any chance? :D

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)

Yay! Digital people :D
I totally agree about the pen on hands ;) but I'm not really one who does that...
I've done two anime/manga style pictures. Neither very good. the first was a self-portrait and the other was of a friend for her birthday

You could say I major in photo manipulations.
A manip I did this year, certainly not my best. :( I've hardly touched my tablet since the semester started (I didn't until tonight when I made my map  )

Welcome to the forum, Vilisse! So is the whole banana thing supposed to clue us in as to your general spirit or personality? ;) Just kidding!

Your art is wonderful, and I look forward to getting to know you over time! May your time here be a blessing! :)
