| Post subject: | Hello! |
Hi there everyone. I'm Elanor. I got my name from the Lord of the Rings books. I am an aspiring writer, I don't just write Christian topics but I like to think my Christianity has a big input in what I write. I thank God for giving me a vivid imagination! I have almost finished my first book and have sent it to some of my friends to be proof read and maybe they'll come back with some good ideas for how to change certain parts etc. I am only young but I have just trained in Dog Grooming and am currently starting up my own business from home which I'm hoping will also give me more time for my writing. In February I have my exams which will (God willing) make me a fully qualified dog groomer. I love fantasy, it has always been the kind of book I enjoy to read the most although I have never actually written any myself, I hope to at some point. I have heard a lot about the Rebelution web site these past few weeks from friends but I haven't searched it out yet. Seeing that a lot of people are here talking about it I might just do that! I have been a Christian for about 18 years, (I got saved when I was 3) and have been home-schooled by 2 wonderful parents! I enjoyed every minute of it! I have two sisters and one brother. Anyhow its so nice to be able to join here! I'm looking forward to finding out how everything works and meeting everyone. |

Welcome, Elanor. I must say, I think you're name is very pretty. Of course, most LotR name are, excepting Sauron, Morgoth, and Smeagol/Gollum. Ahem, what was that, Phillip? Speak for yourself! (I'm kidding. |

Mae govennan! Your name has such a lovely spelling... where in the LotR "trilogy" does that character appear? I'm still working through The Two Towers, and I don't think I've passed her yet. Homeschooling is fantastic! Welcome to Holy Worlds! Don't you worry, we'll have you writing fantasy prolifically very soon. |

Welcome to the craziness, Elanor! Here you'll find random movie quotes, off-tune welcome songs, firework dragons, amazing stories, and a lot of helpful people. If you aren't crazy, you'll soon become so. Don't worry--it's just an occupational hazard. Btw, that is a pretty username. It's an elvish flower and Sam's daughter's name, correct? |

'Out of curiosity, what is your book about?' My book is a mystery set in Elizabethan times, I love historical novels! 'where in the LotR "trilogy" does that character appear?' 'It's an elvish flower and Sam's daughter's name, correct? You are right Amanda! Its the small golden flower named the Elanor found in Lothlorien and it is what Sam names his daughter at the end of the book |

Love your signature. Yay! Glad I was right. By the way, the way to quote people is to either (if doing one quote) hit the "quote" button at the bottom of their post, or (this is handy if doing multiple) hit the "quote" button above the reply box, and then paste the text you wish to quote between the two sets of brackets given to you. |

I love that quote, too. I tried to write a song around it once, but it didn't work very well. One night a friend of mine were waiting for something and neither of us could remember the whole thing, so we sat there for an hour working it out. It was great fun. I love the poetry from LotR. |

Well, at first I came up with a random name: 'Merashath.' Next through many events that name was bestowed to my devil character so I changed my name to the hero, Elanhil. It's similar to the word 'noble' in my language, Shilne. (Noble is elanni.) |

Elanor wrote: 'Out of curiosity, what is your book about?' My book is a mystery set in Elizabethan times, I love historical novels! Yes! Another mystery/historical novel lover! I'm working on a story that is sort of historical fiction (recent history) and fantasy. Right now it is a bit of a mess... I have to say, I like your avatar and your signature. Tolkien wrote beautiful poems. The fact that it's a prophecy from LotR makes it even better, in my opinion. I'll stop rambling now, but welcome again! |

Welcome Elanor, I’m glad you found where I was talking about! Don’t worry about posting in the wrong place. If you do your Moderators (the green named people) or your Marcher Lords (yellow named people) will graciously rectify the situation until you get the hang of things. Just make your most educated guess. We are happy to have you with us and hope your stay will be enjoyable. You can ask any of the crazies running around here for help if you need and they will happily give it. I think you chose a lovely name for the forum too. I will look forward to reading a story excerpt at some point (please share!) God Bless, and happy thread hunting! |

That would be lovely Elanor. And the Rebelution is wonderful (I forgot to say something earlier when you asked about it). Lots of us Holy Worlders are also over there. In fact, lots of us (like myself) started over there. |

If you're asking about the Rebelution forums, then yes, you are allowed to join. It's not a writing forum like here, because on the Rebelution forum they focus on theological discussions and other discussions that can help you grow in Christ and such. It's the kind of place where you can post an issue you see in today's culture and discuss how we as Christian young adults (and Rebelutionaries) ought to deal with that situation. It's kinda hard to explain exactly what the discussions are because there are a variety of them. Oh, and I forgot to say: A tiny rocket-shaped point of light zips up into the air, trailing gold and red sparks as it flies upward. Suddenly, it explodes into a blinding flash of red-gold light which condenses into the fiery shape of a dragon. The creature swoops down towards the earth, then pulls sharply upward. Twisting in mid-air, it then turns a loop and tucks itself into a ball, flipping three times as it once again plummets towards the ground. Inches before it would have crashed, it spreads its wings sharply and glides proudly, its neck tall and head held regally, landing softly on the ground. It stands there silently for a moment, an aura of wonder and majesty about it, before it once again shoots up into the air. It suddenly explodes into a million tiny stars, which congregate to form the words: *WELCOME ELANOR!* |

Welcome, Elanor, to Holy Worlds Fantasy Forum!!!! Your book is based in the Elizabethan Era? Cool! I absolutely love historical novels! I almost like them more than fantasy, but I think it's pretty equal... My own story I'm working on is in the Victorian Era, but depending on my research it may change. I have to say, the hardest part of historical fiction is the researching. That is, if you want to portray a time period correctly. Again, welcome! |
