Let's vote. ;D

I think Philadelphia should change her username to Lady Leah Loraine Longsway III.

Simple reasons: we Kondraels already know her as Leah all the time anyhow, and then her username would match us Kondraels' because it's from the same story.

However, she protests and says she'd look fickle changing her username so much.

What does the HW community say? Yes or no? :D

This is almost as bad as arguing about which name to teach the dog to know me by.

Mel, to the dog: See, Leah. Nice Leah.
Mom: No, I told him she was Rachel. She's Rachel around the dog.

Meanwhile, brothers (both of them): Hey Leah! I mean Rachel... I mean what should I call you anyway?

Oh yeah, that.

As to the brothers, I hadn't finished training them yet. :D

Seer changed his username three times (iarbon-somethin'-or-other -> Mr. Squishy -> Seer) and he eventually became a Marcher Lord. So it's not like we'll kick you off the forum or demote you just 'cause you changed your username twice. :D

But I don't think you should change it.:)

Philadelphia means "brotherly (or sisterly.;) ) love. And that pretty much embodies the essence of this forum.

imo.:D

Good point, Willow...

...though "Leah" embodies the essence of the personage that we call Rachel. ;D

Are you sure that's what you meant? In Hebrew Leah means roughly "Weary".

Lady Leah Loraine Longsway III is too long to use for the set characters allowed per username, so Philli couldn’t change it to that, even if she wanted to. And we have a newly appointed Marcher Lord who is being fickle about her usernames *CoughJaninCough*

@Willow ::sigh:: that's not what I meant. ;D I meant that the name (and character) Leah would be part of RP's essence map if I was to make one. ;D

@Arianna, well, she could just do Lady Leah. Or Leah Loraine. Or something. She has a lot of options -- all of which say Leah. :D

I am greatly amused by this all. And humbly awed at the amount of determination Mel is applying to this.

I voted no....I like 'Philadelphia'...we've already got a few members that seem to enjoy changing their names rather too much. :D :D

I don't think it would be too fickle, you have the perfect defense of overwhelming opposition. :D

Lady Leah Loraine Longway III (or whatever, I'm working off memory here) is too long for the 25 character minimum. And I am already being fickle, so you can also have the defense of following me. :)

Heehee, Katie.

You almost got it. It's Lady Leah Loraine Longsway III (you missed the 's' in 'Longsway'). It's long and somewhat complicated... at least the alliteration was on purpose. :) It's been so long since we first came up with the name! I have no idea where we got it in the first place.

You're sweet, Willow. :) I actually think this "Philly" stuff is very cute & creative. "Philadelphia" is the name of one of my book characters, and she's called by nicknames all the time, but I never thought of "Philly"...

If you do want to, I'd change it now while you're still relatively new. Philadelphia is a good name, though.

I agree with Elanhil. :D

Philli is better, it looks less like a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. (we also have Philly Cheese steak Pizzas, but most people want the Sandwich.)

Philly cheese steak pizza? Now that I've got to try...(Don't you work at a SubWay or something?)
Anyways, I'm still for keeping the original name, if only to irk Melody (and the dog!) ;)

Yes. It's a little more unique. We already have quite a few long, noble sounding names.

Philadelphia has character!

I think Melody's persistence is hilarious.

All of this is absolutely hilarious! But I do thank you for the comments on my user/character name. (Philly Cheesesteak sounds good... but I agree, "Philli" has a nice look to it.)

Where'd Melody go, anyway?

Slowly catching up on this weekend's HW stuff!

Hehehe...

Essence map -- someday, it's crazy-busy around here. ;D

I find this hilarious too that ya'll are coming up with so many reasons as to why she should stay. ;) But the polls are in my favor. ;D

What would you do if I changed it to literally "Leah! Leah! Leah!"?

Smile and nod.

Besides, I know you probably wouldn't do it because there are some things too crazy for even Leah... ;) That'd be more of a Mel thing. :D

I will cry if you change your name.:(

Philadelphia is BEAUTIFUL! (And here are some more good things about Philadelphia)

Aside from meaning brotherly love which is the essence of the forum,

It was also one of the destinations for freedom of slaves on the underground railroad.

Benjamin Franklin lived there.

You can come up with all kinds of cool nicknames from it.

:D

Nessa- She's given up the veil, the vows she'd sworn, abandoned every effort to conform. Without a word to anyone she's gone her way alone, a dove escaping back into the storm.

Nolan- And though I don't understand why this happened, I know that I will when I look back someday, and see how you've brought beauty from ashes, and made me as gold purified through the flames.

Azriel- And who do you think you are, running round leaving scars, collecting your jar of hearts, and tearing love apart? You're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul, so don't come back to me. Don't come back at all...
