There seems to be no "Introduce yourself" thread this is more like a "Create and thread and introduce yourself" forum.

Anyway, Sir Emeth, I am here! Here am I. Am I here? Here I am.

For the rest of you, greetings and salutations. I am a writer of fantasy and science fiction. I used to write solely fantasy but I've recently discovered science fiction and now I'm caught between two worlds. So some of my stories are a strange combination of both, including my newly created universe of shape-shifting aliens.

I play harp, I sing, I direct children's theatre, I used to milk cows, I am becoming a semi-skilled archer, I dream more than I act, I want to make films, and I'm involved with Sir Emeth's "Debugger" project. I am honored to be here.

Welcome to Holy Worlds Janin of Yen! I agree 100% that we should have a welcoming smiley!! :D :) ;)

I'm on a forum where they have a tomato throwing smiley. Specifically for welcoming purposes. It's a little hilarious. :D

Random trivia about me, or what you'll be seeing of me: my signature quote is from my book "The Prince of Yen" from which my username also comes. My avatar is the ensign of the council of science the political authorities in an obscure series by Isaac Asimov call Lucky Starr... (I love Lucky Starr.)

Nope, no tomato throwing smileys. I will see if I can get a wave smiley though, if I can find one that is tasteful.

Greetings!

I believe we've met on the Debugger project.

Neil of Erk! Yes, we have. You're the one who thinks our music should have a techno feel to it. So you write fantasy as well as music, huh?

This is where I tell you that I've changed my username and do you think it's too long and how do I convince you all to call me by my middle name only?

I'm thinking I might go with Katerina Vanyalanthiriel after all...

And Vanya is a male name in Russian. :? Short for Ivan. (but it's actually longer, so don't ask me.)

Actually, I think Vonya (I know a Russian Vonya) is what you are thinking of Elahil. I believe (don't quote me though) that Vanya is a female version like Danielle is the female version of Daniel.

No worries Elahil, I just didn't want Janin to feel like she'd gone from a boy name to another boy name.

Some people want to call me Vanya, which is fine, some people want to call my Jaynin (cause it's similar to Janin), which is fine, and if you want to call me Katerina that's fine too. :D I have decided.

That works too. :D

Hey, wasn't this thread supposed to get archived with the other ones? Or did they leave because I diverted it to a new conversation for my own purposes?

I noticed.

So I shall divert it to my own purposes once again. :D

I need opinions. And I'm tired of asking for them in private because I need a lot of opinions. My username on the Sci-fi forum has been changed to Adrianna Shelki. However, there is much worry that it will be everlastingly confused with Airianna IDX(number number). Indeed, I've thought my posts were hers and she's thought thought the same.

So... do I change it? To what? I considered using one of my three new names, to connect between them, but none of them quite seem to have the alien essence that goes with a last name like Shelki.

Vanya Shelki
Katerina Shelki
Jaynin Shelki

Suggestions?

Andromeda Shelki?

Jaylyn Shelki?

Anika Shelki?

Hassalah Shelki?

Shaharah Shelki? Ooh, I like that one!

I don't know, but I think our usernames shouldn't be quite so similar, and I was Airianna first, so I'm not changing. :D

I think Jaylyn has enough of a Janin sound that people would link the two names as the same person. What types of names are Shelki names, if you don't mind me asking? Maybe that would help spark my imagination and creative juices.

The Rainbow in the Storm- My Blog

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)

Personally, I'm in favor of Jaylyn Shelki...anything that has something remotely similar to 'Janin' in it...just to help me connect the people! ;)

*sigh* There's only two stories so far. Raedon Shelki is one, and Adrianna Shelki is the other. Ben Delvarre is another Alien...

Jaynin Shelki just might work. I don't even need to make it Jaylyn I don't think. (I don't like the l, doesn't fit. :?)

It'll work. I'll go change it. I'm tired of not being able to tell me and Airianna apart. :D :D :D

In a world without superheroes, who will stand against the forces of evil?

*smiles* Yeah, and we're even the same color over there at present, that only adds to the confusion.
