Why we like HW.

I know I’m not the only person on this forum who is glad I joined HW. With this in my mind I thought it might be nice for us all to share what it is we like about Holy Worlds. So, I’ll go first.

I love HW because of all the budding creativity that is bursting out of Story Excerpts for Discussion. We have so many talented people over there and I love reading through their threads! They are all good writers who want positive feedback to better hone their skills.

I love the stimulating conversations that I run across under so many different topics, and the fact that no one comes to blows (most of the time) over the discussions, even when there is disagreement. It’s hard to get that in today’s day and age.

I also love the lack of age segregation. There are some very brilliant young people (and old ones too :D ) on here. I can’t tell you (and I know others have said this too) how many times I am surprised by the things I read. There are some deep thinkers around here! We don’t know one another by our real names or faces; everything we know about each other is based off of our minds, talents, and hearts. I’m very happy I joined this crazy group of fantasy writers!

I love discussing different ideas with people, and seeing all the cool things people come up with.

I love it that there are no real arguments here as well... it's so annoying when I'm on a forum and people can't discuss without arguing. We may have different opinions, but everyone is very mature about expressing them.

And, you're right, the age thing is pretty cool as well :D

I love the craziness. I love feeling that I'm not the only person who's half insane. I love having people who read my work. No one in my family is really a fantasy reader, and even when they read fantasy they're not interested in mine. I don't really write for myself, I've always wanted to share it. And short of getting published, this is wonderful! (Maybe that's why I post so much in story excerpts.)

I love all of the above. I also really love the excellent reviews and critique given by like-minded people. The way that one can be creative, talk to their characters, occasional goofiness and a chance to unwind are great too. Plus there is great discussion of values, techniques and books. :)

One more thing I love about HW. From 8:30 to after 12 on Sunday you won’t find anyone on the site. How cool is that? I don’t get on until after 2 because of fellowship meals. How many sites do you know who are quiet on Sunday mornings? Not many.

One thing I love about Holy Worlds is the constructive insanity. Folks here aren't afraid to be crazy and come up with sometimes ridiculously creative ideas. There's a lot of outside the box thinking and I love it.

I love how people are open to sharing their work and receiving edits and comments on it without becoming defensive.

*ahem* I frequent the forum on Sunday mornings...but that's only because for me your Sunday morning time is Sunday night time for me. :D

I love Holy Worlds because nowhere else will you find such a crazy, weird niche group of homeschooling fantasy writers! I enjoy making new friends and reading other people's writing. And I enjoy following the antics of the reckless Introductions Group (I believe the chief perpetrators are Airianna, A few little yellow name people, Shawn Henderson, and that Elanhil guy), it's always the first forum I check!

Five things I love about Holy Worlds:

1.) I love being able to relate with so many writers!

2.) I love how personable everyone is!

3.) I love how much fun it is to play around with my (and others) characters on the Character Introductions Thread!

4.) I love the many different topics that have been discussed that I never even thought of before!

5.) And I love the faith on God and the love of writing that brings us here!

Wow, thanks for starting this thread. It is an encouragement to me like you wouldn't believe.

I love this forum because it represents God's grace to me. I started it out of a private, personal need (to save time by only having to post my story stuff in one place, haha, but whatever), and it has grown way beyond my expectations and dreams. God has seriously blessed us all through this, and I can honestly say that no one of us did it. It was God working through all of us.

I also love this forum because of all of you. I have been able to meet some incredible people through it. I love coming here because it is refreshing to be among friends in this kind of atmosphere that we have. You guys have come together to make this a great place. Thank you.

I love this forum because I completely fit in here. I'm with Christian brothers and sisters who are all just as quirky as I am. God's love is here.

I also love this forum for all the hilarious discussions, and awesome fantasy worlds I get to read.:D

I love Holy Worlds because....I have met so many Christians here who have encouraged me in my walk with the Lord

I love Holy Worlds because....I have made so many friendships here, that I would never have had without HW!

I love Holy Worlds because....There are amazing people here willing to write godly writing and encourage others in their writings as well.

I love Holy Worlds because....I believe it has one of the closest knit communities I have ever seen on a forum in my life before; everyone knows and cares about everyone, it is truely remarkable!

I love Holy Worlds for many reasons. First of all, it's great to just look around here and relax a little. I always enjoy looking at all the great threads. I like this forum because it is a Christian forum. On this forum, I can learn new things about writing. Also, I can get some great ideas for a poem or short story from just reading a couple threads. I would call all of those my main reasons I enjoy Holy Worlds so much.

I love Holy Worlds because I learn new things every day from the people here. I was taught how to put my thoughts on page in an extra courteous manner, so as not offend people. Writing over emails or forum can be hard, because people can't see your intentions or the manner in which you're speaking what you write. So in many ways I feel I was taught how to chat over the internet from my wonderful peers here. Something that I am very grateful of.

I love meeting new people, and watching the forum growth over the years. Seeing members join and watching their growth, seeing them mature, and change is a wonderful blessing and something I will never, ever tire of.

I have met the most amazing people on Holy Worlds, and I thank God so often for the friendships I have made here. People who encourage me when I feel down, build up my confidence when I feel low, and make me laugh when I want to cry. I love my HW friends so much!
